However, he was quite ill and during rehearsals tragically died. The show never opened. She returned to London.

Easton steered into the "Linda Ronstadt" skid with some jazz & Spanish language records. She hasn't released a new album since 2000 (Fabulous). Her two albums before that (Freedom and Home) were only released in Japan.

She's had one of the longest-running residencies in Vegas, going on 21 years now.

I think about Easton every do often, particularly how she used to be a radio mainstay in the mid-80s. Younger me liked her tunes then. Older me can’t stand em, lol.

Between women like her, Taylor Dayne, & Paula Abdul, women who used to be AOR mainstays back in the 80’s but don’t really register a blip on post-80s radio, it makes it all the more a wonder that Madonna had the career she had, staying relevant up until the 2010s.
