Acceptable-Part-4965@reddit
Imam ali 😍
Askar-Kruger@reddit
yo it's disrespect to depict our glorious Imam
Acceptable-Part-4965@reddit
That's a sunni thing bruh
Askar-Kruger@reddit
no bro, it's a Muslim thing, we are One, United, Undivided, let us leave the past in the past and move forward
Acceptable-Part-4965@reddit
I'm Shia (Alevi, Fatimi, whatever name) in our sect painting and depicting is halal unlike sunnis , it's haram in their sect.
Tridentnutella@reddit
if you‘re twelver (which is mostly the case, the other branches are way smaller), then you‘re Jafari
Acceptable-Part-4965@reddit
yes that is correct
bostanite@reddit
I am completely lost. What are we looking at?
H-N-O-3@reddit
I think we are looking at a picture of Kemal next to the national flag of Turkey next to a picture of muslim Jesus (?) and in the middle is a man taking the picture because key tastes worse than bread .
BulutAndFriends@reddit
That's Imam Ali, this guy is likely an Alevi
H-N-O-3@reddit
Thank you for the tip . Still he looks like muslim Jesus no offence I hope !!
Final-Nebula-7049@reddit
more like Muslim St John
PainOk1877@reddit
what is the difference between alevi and alawite? i heard about both.
Lorumba@reddit
From what I know alevi people are pretty chill, love ali, good neighboors, they dance, not very pushy, open minded love Ataturk like most of us etc etc and I dont know anything about alawites.
Alevis might be my favorite sect of islam, would be an alevi if I were muslim.
Sorry if this sounded like a propaganda but I wanted to appreciate alevis.
Sea_Gap_6569@reddit
At this point their love for Atatürk is comparable to Ali
BulutAndFriends@reddit
I heard that some Alevis believe that Atatürk was a descendant of Ali
AST360@reddit
Alevis are Turkish, Alawites are Arab. Alawites are more akin to Christianity in their Islamic beliefs (unlike Alevis some Alawites believe in a trinity of God, Ali and Muhammad which is veeeery haram for Sunnis), Alevis are more akin to Tengrism and early Turkish Islamisation like tariqa of Bektashism. Alevis do not go to mosques but instead go to "cemevi" (house of unity) while Alawites go to mosques. Alevis are often far more secular and may seem practically atheists for a foreign eye while Alawites are more religious.
Feeling_Procedure_79@reddit
Alevis are both Turkish and Kurdish. They are a bit different though.
AST360@reddit
Yeah, I mean I am sure there are some Turkish Alawites around too, especially near Hatay due to proximity to Arab Alawites but I am talking about the general Alevi population. Alevis make up around %10 of Turkey and the overlap with Kurds is rather small.
PainOk1877@reddit
thanks for the explanation,no wonder syrian civil war was very nasty and sectarian.
BeneficialAd8431@reddit
The headquarters of bektashis are in Tirana btw 🤣
DuePositive8957@reddit
Same thing. Alevi is just Turkish. Also we make fun of the name because it also means fiery. And sometimes we associate them with Fire Ball from Ben 10
OnkelMickwald@reddit
I often call him "Chad Jesus"
PainOk1877@reddit
or alawite, they populate hatay province in turkey and coastal syria.
Feeling_Procedure_79@reddit
That is Ali bin Ebu Talib. One of the four early caliphates and son-in-law of Prophet Muhammad. Having his picture on the wall means that this person is probably an "Alevi". Ali is a very important figure for them. Having Mustapha Kemal picture near means that he is probably a Turkish Alevi and not a Kurdish one. Alevis are a religious muslim minority, around 10-12 percent.

Usual-Trouble-2357@reddit
I swear it's as if the more heterodox/syncretic an Abrahamic religion gets the more refined and beautiful it becomes.
Just compare Alevis and other syncretic forms of Islam or older forms of Christianity to Salafis or your choice of puritanical American protestantism.
No_Active_5750@reddit
muslim jesus is now favorite definition for fiery Ali, love it
CapCreeperGR@reddit
Turkish Markiplier. Did you not read the title?
rastgele_anime_fan42@reddit
it's not "Turkish Markiplier", it's Turkiplier
reis_sevdalisi_61@reddit

Why prophet Ali is posing in front of Miami sunset 🌇🌴
Several-Zombies6547@reddit
Wow, the first Turk I've seen that visibly has Turkic ancestry!
believewhatisayy@reddit
Turkic ancestry is not just monolid eyes. Oghuz Turks exist.
Tridentnutella@reddit
Oğuz turks from 🇹🇲 are still more asian looking (not much but still) than the average turkish person although they are quite mixed for central asian turk standards as well.
People looking like Turkiplier in the post make up like 5% of all turkish. Thats still 4 million people but nevertheless a small minority amongst mostly anatolian/iranian/balkan looking people
believewhatisayy@reddit
No i mean yoruks,manavs,chepnis,turkomans.
AmbitiousSympathy665@reddit
Oguz turks also had it much more often todays anatolian turks.
Lorumba@reddit
You are not gonna believe this but all it takes for someone to be turkish is citizenship.

Zealousideal_Cry_460@reddit
İ think he means by ethnicity rather than by citizenship
Lorumba@reddit
"İ" know bro. He was talking about Turks(citizen) not being turkic (ethnic)
Zealousideal_Cry_460@reddit
İ dont think he was but whatever
ShitassAintOverYet@reddit
And he's an Alevi, nationalists in shambles
AST360@reddit
I'd argue Turks are the most beautiful and handsome nation on earth because none of us look alike eachother, you can find pretty much any phenotype in Turkey, even black people.
Independent-Ruin2268@reddit
"Yaoi frotting" handle really is where the magic happens.
