Converting to a Non-NRI is Draining

I'll be honest, going to another country from India and building a life is one thing. But, coming back to your hometown can be more stressful and emotionally draining than one can imagine.
It's like trying to be back this person that you left and for a reason, and when you come back, people don't know you anymore, you don't know yourself anymore.
The worst part, you crave to go back to a country that first felt foreign, but now a home.

I feel this whenever I visit India.
Which country you lived before moving back ?

United Arab Emirates, and I'm still hoping to go back.

Hahaha, oops!!

Imagine trying to do that as a 30 year old microwave oven. It's not easy AT ALL. Totally different types of objects. Often, not even from India!

As an ecpat indian who plans to move back myself, I think it might be easier to move to a city you didn't grow up in. I know people may not have that choice all the time, but could be easier to start fresh in a different city.

I totally agree, that's a good choice. Although, I don't think I am fit enough to stay in any other city.

Just a heads-up that I don't think a lot of people outside of India know what an NRI is. Non-Resident Indian, right?

Yes, that's absolutely correct!
