Hot take, I always leave my pen in the truck because I don't want to lose it. It has happened twice. I have a "don't spend money to go to work" mindset, and replacing a lost pen does just that. Even if it's a dollar, thats 2 minutes to earn that dollar of my life gone plus the time to get another one.
One of the better tips I ever got was : "ya know how you see pens layin around on the ground or whatever? Pick 'em up. You keep your nice open for yourself, and you crappy pen to whoever's signin' "
They have pens in an office. Pens they don't buy with their own money. We'll use those. I quit bringing my phone in too. I write up a BOL with all the info I was given, nobody is gunna look at my phone and confirm that's the info. Places still demand to see the text with the info and I say sorry it's not with me. I guess cancel? I'll leave carefully
