What’s your favourite or recommended cordial?

There used to be (probably 10-15 years ago) an orange Robinsons called High Juice. It was the nectar of the gods and I’ve not really found anything that comes close. What are your favourite options and recommendations? Bonus internet points if you know of anything that touches the glory of High Juice…

The Grenadine, Passionfruit and Grapefruit flavours are all incredibly delicious. £4 a bottle each on Ocado but worth it. Teisseire makes the single worst Elderflower cordial on the planet, however. Perfect if you want your cordial musty.

You might like Sainsburys own brand high juice, they make it in both normal and sugar free varieties. I detest sweeteners so always get that, along with Belvoir cordials!

You might want to check the ingredients on the non-sugar free one. A lot of drinks are labelled normally but contain sweeteners. Sprite, say, is basically diet Sprite now even though the label is unchanged

Entente cordiale Apart from that the only one I can find without sweeteners is a polish raspberry one that I've found in the Polish section of Sainsbury's. I've got no idea how to spell it let alone say it

Lidl's 'High Juice' equivalents used to be pretty good, though not bought for quite some time. I assume they still do them. Rocks cordials are excellent, though the new bottle design makes them look a bit cheap and nasty. For some reason if you make up a fairly strong batch it doesn't freeze solid (The sugar content I guess) so it makes a good slushy too!

Vimto in a fancy glass? There was a couple of winters ago Ribena Winter Spice, intended to be drunk warm, that was a classy cordial.

There’s still plenty of supermarket own brand high juices out there. I’m currently digging the mint and lime cordial from Robinsons. The raspberry and rhubarb one is okay too but not quite as all round as the lime and mint. Elderflower cordial is still the best, especially mixed with apple juice, and making your own is kinda fun.
