How do you safely buy car parts off Asian websites?

I’m trying to buy my boyfriend car parts for his birthday and it would either be carbon fiber fenders or his hood. The only thing is he did mention before that you could possibly get a better deal off of Asian websites like Alibaba, but I genuinely have NOOOO IDEAAAA what I’m looking at. He has a 2014 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG, and I’m looking at eBay at the moment because I saw there was a good return policy, but I’m just trying to see my options and hopefully get him something he loves.
I’m mainly nervous about getting scammed and ending up with something fake, or buying something that won’t fit correctly. If anyone has experience buying body parts from Asian websites or knows any trusted sellers or sites for W204 C63 parts, I’d really appreciate the help because I’m completely new to this lol.

For a 2014 C63 (W204), you should look for Verified Pro suppliers who specialize in European car body kits and have at least 3 years on the platform. To avoid fitment issues, ask the supplier for installed photos from previous customers and confirm if the carbon is Vacuum Infused (lighter/better fit) rather than just a cheap fiberglass wrap.

Don't buy fenders from wish or alibaba

Would eBay be better in this situation? I just wanted to look at all my options.

Buying any parts online is mostly about verification. You should check OEM numbers, seller ratings, and real fitment photos. Often, platforms like Alibaba and similar ones vary by supplier, so always compare reviews, ask questions, and prefer those offering clear return policies and documented compatibility of the specific parts.

I'm definitely trying to cross check reviews, as well as checking for what's most sold on the website in general.

I'm looking at this as one of my top choices, the only thing is what would I ask the seller? I've gone to their other listings and this supplier has good ratings but not specifically for the W204 parts, which I'm having more trouble finding reviews for.

Are you American? FCP Euro is a good place to start.

Yes I am! Is that usually for European countries?

If I were your boyfriend I would only buy parts like this myself and wouldn’t trust anyone else to be sure they are doing this order correctly. It’s too expensive and specific. Especially if you’re going to be trying to order off the beaten path of websites. Unless he’s given you some kind of a wish list and a direct link I wouldn’t take this up on my own

Thank you for the advice! I think I might just try to be sneaky about it and ask him to talk to me about the car and what he's been wanting and see if he'll show me a listing or something.
