Do I need brake lights on an MOT-exempt vehicle manufactured in 1952?

Yeah, a real eye-turner that had so many crazy adaptations... Seems it was way ahead of its time in many ways. My mate made a few additions in keeping with the idea of it being ultra-smoothed, hidden, stealthed etc. IIRC it was him who did a flip-reverse on the carb(urettor), and have it tucked behind the fan housing, which was itself smoothed & painted that baby blue colour -meaning as you looked into the engine bay you saw: -billabong textile covered panels to the sides & behind the (old (Porsche)style small) housing -baby blue fan housing -dynamo(pre 'alternator') in baby blue -bottom (crankshaft) bottom pulley. -alternator -I don't think that itself was colour coordinated, it was possibly the 'see through' type allowing you to watch your ignition sparks, tho it did have, if memory serves, a colour co-ordinated yellow lead set... All the intake pipework, the carb, and air-filter (single IIRC, it didn't have a beast of an engine demanding twin dels) was invisible. He had a number of remote control systems fitted, so using the key-fob, could pop the suicide doors as he walked up -it had a stealthed release button somewhere beneath as a failsafe due to having completely smoothed doors with no handle, even a hidden one. He had it rigged, like high end vehicles began doing, in colder climates especially, so he could remote-start -a fun trick, but not really required as rather than being 'on the drive' or in the garage with an auto-lifting door she lived in the living-room sized shop front of his VW parts shop. On the the 'smoothed' thing -did you see it was completely de-seamed ? the rain channels having been cut off and welded over, side panels extended downwards over where the heater-channels / running boards are usually. Oh, and the wheels, solid steel wheels in the bright yellow with custom wave shapes cut out, the inflation valve holes also reversed so they were on the 'inside' of the wheels, beneath the vehicle 🤦‍♂️😂 I've kind of fallen out of touch with my mate who owned it, AFAIK he still has her as, as many a dub owner says 'sell my bug ‽ I'd rather stick pins in my eyes / wasps up my *rse...' etc. J, if you reading this, giz a shout mate, it's been too long, & I'm short of quorn 😂👍
