The buffer was able to hit the buffer retainer at full force when I was shooting, and it bent the hole the retainer sits in. When I opened the rifle up the retainer and spring shot out at escape velocity. Was able to hammer it back to shape but it's only temporary. Eventually it'll be irreparable, especially if the buffer smacks the retainer again.
