rich tea, dunk it so it turns to jelly, then you have the parlour game of transporting it from the cup to mouth without it splitting off and causing a splash
Sold in the biscuit aisle and classified as Biscuits by HMRC, but subject to zero-rated VAT, refer to section 3.4.2 Biscuits:
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/food-products-and-vat-notice-70114
A cake is zero-rated VAT even if it is covered in chocolate, whereas a biscuit is standard-rated VAT if wholly or partly covered in chocolate.
So the 1991 tribunal found
Jaffa cakes had characteristics of both cakes and biscuits, but the tribunal thought they had enough characteristics of cakes to be accepted as such, and they were therefore zero-rated.
I once had a job where I paid expenses claims from our regional offices, and I would have to call them and ask if the biscuits they'd purchased for hospitality meetings had chocolate on or not. Then explain I wasn't being petty, or health shaming them, I just needed to know for tax reasons. But if it was Jaffa Cakes, that made a difference.
I disagree. I think they're the perfect dip for me. Ideal size for a down in one. Dipping transit is rapid, yes, but the saturation level is very satisfying. Just don't dally.
Idk what they're called but the cream sandwich biscuits you get in the fox's selection box
There's a chocolate variant too but let's be honest, chocolate flavoured stuff is never actually better (digestives and the like don't count because they're chocolate coated, not flavoured)
not sure I agree. I can inhale chocolate hobnobs with or without a cup of coffee. Either way, the only thing wrong with them is that they go a pack in one sitting.
