Yeah, 4chan seems like it might be past it's high point now. Most of the boards seem to have less people engaged with them at one time - other than porno drop threads, of course. Back in 2010 or so there were so many people engaged with it at one time there was probably hundreds or thousands of posts per minute. Didn't even really take a legendary post - just something decent - you could just sit there refreshing it and gobs of replies would pop out almost continuously. Hard to keep track of the post count when you can't get page updates as fast at the overall post rate is increasing..

Of course now, you could keep track of the post number with a python script, average the amount per second, add that to what you have and use some interface pass-through so you can solve the capture while the script keeps the number updated. With less people and more repetitive posting, the number would be a lot easier to calculate with low enough latency.
