The genesis straight up kills the others on looks though. BMW is looking very dated.

I cross shopped these cars. The Audi was my favorite but I ended up with an Integra. Genesis has the best value, but it’s missing things like wireless CarPlay. It also had the best steering. Terrible backseat room. The sound system was garbage (but I didn’t mess with the EQ so maybe not), but it’s too close to the Audi in price. Terrible gas mileage too and a jerky transmission. Fun as hell though to get the rear end to step out. BMW was cool but the back seat wasn’t great either. I found the driver’s seat right up front. I really wanted ventilated seats too. But all in all, I didn’t give it enough time. I need to go back and review it again. The Mercedes was… interesting. I hated the infotainment at first but it actually worked fairly well. It was expensive though and the fit and finish was garbage. The Audi impressed me the most. It felt so stable and luxurious. It was quiet and I felt the most capable. Smoothest by far. Fit and finish was unmatched. Comes with AWD at the price the others only have RWD. The sound system literally brought tears to my eyes. However, at the end of the day, the Integra had the hatchback, the luxury, very nice sound system, but just lacking as FWD and only 200hp. It was also about 13k cheaper spec’d out the way I wanted the cars. It’s handles nice on the street and it can be fast enough for me to get a ticket or make my kids puke.

TL;DW: * BMW 3 Series is the best, unless you want a PHEV. Also the sportiest. * Mercedes C Class is the best PHEV, and the most comfy. * Audi is pretty good, but not as sporty as the BMW, and not as comfy as the Mercedes. * Genesis isn't that fun to drive; isn't very comfy compared to the others and also not very sporty. Back seat is also very cramped. * DS9 is comfy, but Mercedes is slightly comfier.

He’s completely tripping on the G70. In America and it’s pricing, the G70 is genuinely the most fun to drive car. It’s 3.3T is only a few thousand more than the base 2.0T equivalent in the other car. Aside from power, it’s steering is also the mostly lively with the most feedback. Definitely the most fun to drive. Also interior quality is very good. Close to BMW/Audi, but definitely ahead of atleast the older C class. Don’t know abt the new one. Finally, it offers a ton of tech/features standard and for the money at any price range. Also has a neck breaking design. *Everyone* turns to look at the G70. The other German cars maybe get glanced at if your lucky. Some downsides though are MPG, no electrification, tightest rear seat/cargo space, and missing some things like wireless Apple CarPlay/android auto. But it does cost less…

Despite your downvotes I 100% agree. I test drove the G70 6-cyl and an M340i and the G70 was far and away the better driving car, it was an absolute blast. The M340i felt soulless in comparison, you basically don’t feel or hear anything inside.

Some people care more about how it drives than how it sounds or feels. Personally, I found the TCS on the Stinger to be intolerable, and the rear suspension wasn't quite as refined as that of a 3-Series (I've heard that the G70 is very similar to the Stinger, but haven't driven one myself). There are many good things about what Hyundai/Kia/Genesis are doing, but they still have some areas to improve, too. There are legitimate reasons why someone might prefer a BMW, and it isn't just badge perception.

You may want to drive a G70 3.3t, don't bother with the 2.0 of that's all you have access to. The 3.3t is an amazing car with an extremely active chassis, you can also turn off the traction control system if that's an issue for you.

I drove the Stinger, which is pretty much the same, in the 2.5 and 3.3 versions. In the 2.5, the TCS will turn itself back on even when you try to disable it; I didn't check this in the V6. It's a good platform, but not as refined as the 3 Series.

I'm a sports car person in my heart, I stepped into the GV70 Prestige 3.5tt because I needed an SUV and I really do love the crap out of the GV70. I have it in for service right now and I have a fully loaded prestige G70 3.3t and I might actually see about trading in the GV70 for a G70. I can't stay out of this car, it's amazing how fun it is to drive. So active, genesis isn't holding your hand either which is why it's so good. The backend of the car is constantly alive if you have traction control off, you need to be on your game and know what to do when the back end starts to do its thing, otherwise it's going to catch you off guard. At the same time not jn a bad snappy way, it's totally controllable. I really want an AWD Prestige, I think having the front wheels active would make it faster in the corners.
