Chicken thighs for all of us, Boston butt (pork shoulder) and deli sliced chicken for my husband and daughter.
If you include fish, I have canned salmon and anchovies in the cupboard. Tbh I’ve been trying to eat plenty of beans for health, so that’s my main go-to for protein.
Chicken breasts, nuggets, meatballs, steaks, hot dogs, bacon, ground pork, ground beef, corn dogs, salmon, fish sticks, ham (lunch meat) and some sausages I bought at the farmers market this morning.
And I still can't figure out what I want for dinner every night.
None. I'm vegetarian, my house window is not and he just buys whatever he's going to cook that week, it might be beef, it might be pork, it could be turkey it just depends on what he's in the mood for.
Just chicken sausage and kosher hot dogs. We don’t eat a lot of meat and we’re Jewish so we avoid pork. Most of our protein comes from tofu, dairy, beans, and nuts.
Pork, beef, chicken, and deer. I live in a rural area where all the men in my family go deer hunting when possible. My father in law had a pig processed and he is sharing it with us. Beef and chicken are from the store.
Have half a cow which includes pretty much every well known cut of beef, bacon, pork chops, venison, duck, goose, moose, bear, grouse, woodcock and chicken wings
Mostly chicken and a bit of turkey. Sometimes beef when it is on sale. I don’t particularly like pork but I sometimes use bacon in recipes or get those salami snacks from the deli (basically salami wrapped sticks of mozzarella).
Ground beef and boneless chicken breasts and pork and beef meatballs in the freezer. Deli meats ham, turkey and roast beef for sandwiches in the fridge. Cans of tuna in the cupboard.
I have some wrapped venison cuts in the freezer and a lot of halibut, sole, and salmon, all given as gifts. I don't buy hardly any meat because of the prices. Even clearance prices are too high now.
Pork: Fresh pork shoulder goes on sale once or twice a year, hams on the bone three or four times.
Chicken: Whole chickens are still affordable when in stock, but the breast meat is weirdly cartilaginous these days. Trays of chicken thighs and leg quarters go on sale at a price I can afford about once a month; I buy as much as I can, rebag it in meal-sized portions, and freeze.
Turkeys: Whole roasting turkeys go on sale about three times a year.
Link and patty sausage: Occasionally on sale.
Hot dogs: Always affordable but not good for a steady diet.
Some pepperoni slices for making Boboli pizzas and snacking on. Sometimes some meat for cold cut sandwiches. I live a couple of blocks from a grocery store. I usually buy meat the same day I make the meal.
Beef, chicken, pork/ham, & turkey in that order of frequency of being served. My family never served lamb except on Passover & I even then I can’t remember ever actually eating it & none of us have ever liked seafood of any sort.
Salmon, cod, and ground beef in the freezer (they are more expensive so I buy in bulk from a warehouse store and freeze). We buy chicken fresh on a weekly basis as well, and sometimes turkey. Canned tuna in the pantry. I like pork, but it's hard to find good quality lately, and my husband doesn't prefer it. Ate a ton of pork growing up though.
There's 2 sliced of bacon, and a slice of beef bologna. Probably a 1/4lb of mortadella (for the first time ever). Also some fish and chicken thighs in the freezer, as well as a smoked ham hock. And maybe 1/2 lb of shrimp. We don't usually eat a lot of meat, and when we do it's chicken, or turkey, or fish/seafood. Not much pork, and even less beef. Considering how we eat, we have plenty of meat in our kitchen.
Different cuts of chicken, ground turkey, pork, beef, venison, duck, cod, scallops, shrimp and crab. I also have some kielbasa and hot dogs that are more mixed meats LOL.
My freezer has pork loan, sausage, hamburger, chicken (both cooked and raw) hot dogs, bacon, and a ham bone I saved to cook with beans. I have brats, bacon, pepperoni and hotdogs in the fridge.
Right now? Meatballs for dinner tonight and chicken for dinner tomorrow. Then I’ll go to the butcher to buy Tues & Wednesday dinner. Probably hamburger & chicken or pork.
Why did you say you tell /askEurope that you’re a mod here, when you’re not listed as a mod here, and the mods of this sub have deleted all your previous posts?
I have some ground beef, ground turkey, chicken drumsticks and pork in my refrigerator and freezer currently. I guess I also have some kielbasa and pepperoni in the freezer.
At this exact moment, we don’t have any except as part of prepared frozen foods. Common meats we have in our home including: chicken, turkey, beef, pork, and lamb. Occasionally we’ll have duck as well.
At the moment, nothing. I live across the street from a grocery store and usually only buy what I need to cook my next dinner. The most common meat I cook is chicken, followed by spot prawns, then beef
We raise a pig and a cow every other year to butcher and fill our 3 freezers. We also raise rabbits to eat. We hunt wild game so we usually have deer or elk or some other beast in our freezers too. I cook what we have but I buy chicken at the store when we need or want it.
None atm. Usually, I use chicken or turkey breast when I do want some meat-based protein, but I prefer to buy it the day I'm going to use it. I may eat beef once a week or so (usually steak, a roast beef sandwich, or some iteration of ground beef). I almost never eat pork unless I'm ordering Chinese takeout. I'll order seafood 1-2x weekly in the form of a poke bowl, fish tacos, or sushi (I don't trust myself to not mess up seafood, so I leave it to the professionals).
Frozen Chicken thighs, fresh ground beef, frozen salmon, canned tuna… I think there’s still a bit of pork and deer sausage in the freezer from last year.
At this very moment in my fridge and freezer: ground turkey, turkey bacon, ground beef, whole chicken, chicken tenderloin, prosciutto, salmon filets, and pre-shelled shrimp.
In the freezer right now: boneless chicken thighs, bone-in turkey thighs, hot Italian sausage, ground beef. Links of "fresh" (as in "not smoked") Polish sausage and Hungarian sausage. Also individually portioned salmon filets.
Freezer 1 20# chicken breast, 10# ground beef, 5# ground turkey, 1# Italian sausage, 1 large beef roast and 2 pork loin.
Freezer 2 big bag of chicken nuggets, chicken wings and sausage patties.
Fridge lunch meat, hot dogs, leftover blackened chicken, turkey meat sticks and pepperoni.
Cupboards are canned chicken, canned tuna and spam
We have a wide variety of meats. It is common to find bacon and sausage products as breakfast meats although there are a lot of regional differences It is common to have thinly sliced meats and cheeses for lunch as well as hot dogs for lunches The sliced meats are often ham, turkey, roast beef or variations of these. Also tuna or chicken salad.
For dinner we will have chicken, ground beef, steaks, fish ( salmon or whitefish like haddock or cod or mahi mahi, and shellfish like shrimp or crab). Most households don’t have all of this in the kitchen at the same time. In our house we plan our meals over the weekend and then shop accordingly. We will stock up on what is on sale and store it in the freezer.
The country is very large and diverse and we have citizens whose families have all come from somewhere else at some point in time and they all bring their own food preferences and customs.
Also we have a lot of families that hunt and fish. The most commonly hunted game include white tail deer, antelope a a well as turkeys and pheasant
Right now I have bologna and chicken legs. As for beef, I get ground beef. It's rare that I get any other beef, especially with the price of it these days.
Pork butt roasts, pork sirloins, chicken, chicken thighs, sometimes ground beef, a steak now and then. Chicken breasts (sigh) because my partner likes them. I like white shrimps, large or jumbo if I can get them. Ham, sometimes. Sliced deli ham, often. The occasional beef hot dogs.
It's just me. I have in the fridge some ground beef. In the freezer, there is more beef (ground, steaks), various chicken (breasts, shredded, etc), fish, pork (tenderloin), breakfast sausage, Italian sausage, bratwurst, bacon. I also have some canned tuna, canned crab and canned tiny shrimp in the pantry. I usually buy roasts (beef, pork) when they are discounted and cook them right away, but I don't have any on hand right now.
Right now there’s 2 pounds of ground chicken, 1.5 pounds of smoked salmon, a pack of deli chicken slices, a couple ropes of andouille and turkey kielbasa, and several flavors of chicken sausage.
In order of how often it showers up in my fridge:
Chicken > pork sausage > ground beef > fish > beef steaks or roasts > offal like liver, kidneys, heart > lamb.
Ground beef, chicken breast, some kind of fish (salmon, tilapia, shellfish), sometimes pork or steak. These are the meats I eat for dinner. I’ll rotate through them depending on my mood. Sometimes I’ll get something other than those if I’m feeling freaky
For lunch my husband and I will sometimes get pepperoni or salami or turkey or ham to make sandwiches
A few pounds of ground beef, half a chuck roast, pack of sirloin steaks, bacon, turkey bacon, chicken thighs, chicken breasts, canned white meat chicken, canned tuna.
In the freezer we almost always have chicken thighs for the bulk of my meals, chicken wings for occasional frying, ribeye and sliced pork belly for our monthly kbbq.
In the fridge we usually have some local sausage or cretons (and whatever is thawing)
In the pantry we have a lot of canned tuna, spam and shredded chicken
