Have you been to lorro park and the monkey park? 😂 yes it’s FUN to go to another shopping centre abroad and see what shops they have that we dont, it’s called experience, something you must know nothing about!

Been twice to Quarteira with our 3 children and in-laws. Stayed in a villa both times. Hire a car and you're a short drive from the beach, some lovely little towns, and not far from the marina in Vilamoura which has some really nice waterfront restaurants and gelato shops. We loved both our holidays there and plan to go back next year hopefully.

West Coast of France around Bordeaux is absolutely beautiful. The sandy beaches go on for miles and miles. You can look on Google Earth and see where I mean. It's poker straight. You can hire large family tents on permanent sites which have loads of amenities, we used them a few times when we were younger. Great fun.

We did an all inclusive last July with our then 3 year old and 7 month old and couldn’t recommend it enough. The ease of an all inclusive made it feel more like a holiday compared to doing an Airbnb/hiring a car holiday. We went to Greece, so longer than 2.5 hour flight and happy to recommend the resort we stayed in, if you’d be up for travelling further

I will second Port de Pollença. We have been there a few times and its not one of the primary destinations people visit. Its got lovely beaches and we had a ground floor apartment on the Pine Walk where you walked from your front patio across the pedestrian only Pine Walk and straight onto the beach. We had young kids at the time (4 and 8) and we could sit on the patio and watch them while they were on the beach just a few yards away.

For big family friendly beaches look at Alcudia or Can Picafort. Excellent buses through that area too. The 'nicest' parts are probably the areas around Sóller or Calá d'Or. But they're a bit more secluded so renting a car is more important if you want to explore from there.

Second this. Some of the beaches in Mallorca are about as close to paradise as you can get in Europe. Me personally, I’d stay away from the overly tourist areas, but even some of them, like Port De Pollensa are really quite nice.

Some people mentioned Spain and Portugal and yhey would fit nicely wih your requirements. My one request is to please, please, please avoid short-term rentals like Airbnb. They are destroying the cities for locals.

Hear me out… Jersey and Channel Islands. Great beaches, a few nice resort hotels if that’s what you want. Sunnier than hear and the boat is 4 hours and you can take the car. Ferry is overnight if needed.

Béziers in the south of France is a quiet, relatively inexpensive holiday destination. It's a small city with a couple of beautiful sandy beaches nearby (Valras-Plage and Serignan-Plage), which are nowhere near as crowded as any of the big beaches. There's also loads of historic sites, wineries, and the like. (Just don't try to go in August as there's a bullfighting competition and it's rammed.)

We’re taking my daughter abroad for the first time this year and are going to Cambrils in Spain. We’ve been there before with other family but chose it as it’s a 20 min drive from Reus airport and has a lovely, shallow sandy beach which is ideal for kids. It’s close to two large theme parks (Ferrari Land and Port Adventura) and is a couple of hours from Barcelona for a day trip. We’ve gone all inclusive as my daughter and they have ice cream and a pizza bar at the hotel

I live near Biarritz & St Jean de Luz in France. St Jean de Lutz has nice beaches and supervised beach activities for kids, to allow the adults a break. There's surfing at Biarritz, nice beaches and an aquarium.

It really depends what you like to do as a family and how old the children are. Some people like cooking on holidays, others can’t think of anything worse. Some like to spend their days by the pool/on the beach, others like to do more cultural activities. Some people value really good local cuisine, others are happy in British pubs that’s specialise in a full English. If you give more detail on the people going and what you want from a holiday you’ll get more useful replies
