Oslo fjord last night. Lifeboat came to the rescue.
Drnzlyrks@reddit
...nice
Sinn_Sage@reddit
It seems that the number 69 means something different in Norway
flippinsailor@reddit
that'll buff out...
Popeye-SailorMan@reddit
Is that his 4th reef technique.
idontlikekoalas@reddit
I’m just waiting for a mate. https://youtu.be/6wqzZOFOcYo?si=CkhAvp9TdjGt4NBf
bajuh@reddit
Looks like a nazi flag from this much
coldafsteel@reddit
not sure why this is downvoted. if you aren't from that area and saw that flag as it sits in this photo you might think its that was a Kriegsmarine ensign.
just_an_ordinary_guy@reddit
I mean, sure, but also it says Oslo fjord, so I would assume it's probably a Norwegian flag first.
bajuh@reddit
It cannot look like something if you derive the information from text
just_an_ordinary_guy@reddit
There is text and a picture, I'm not sure what you mean.
Jhonny99j@reddit
My best guess is that it is the Flag of KNS. KNS = Kongelig Norsk Seilforening, translates to Royal Norwegian Yacht Club.
It is a bit prestigious sailboat club in Oslo.
ZachAttack317@reddit
This new mast design seems to be catching on
phantomagna@reddit
Shane about the mast but what kind of boat is this? She’s beautiful!
Naive_Adeptness6895@reddit

REDDITSHITLORD@reddit
Too much vang.
busfeet@reddit
I was going to say not enough vang
maniacalmustacheride@reddit
Too much gnav? What’s the reverse of a vang/gnav?
I’m calling it a shittingham just for giggles
wordplayar@reddit
Bit of bit of reverse prebend on the mast, will straighten out one he runs the main up it.
lacking_inspiration5@reddit
How much is too much?
grundgerangel@reddit
Damn, this sticky anchor is a pain.
diemenschmachine@reddit
What happened to his mast?
ShitOnAStickXtreme@reddit
And why is he sailing under the flag of the war ensign of nazi Germany?
diemenschmachine@reddit
To me it looks like he was sailing in front of the flag
Embarrassed-Air4159@reddit
I dont know but something mastve happened to it
stumanchu3@reddit
Just a mast bender, nothing to see here folks, just move along.
mologav@reddit
I am Bender, please insert mast.
honestfyi@reddit
LOL I wish I could upvote you so many more times for the Futurama reference. Well done!
hypnotoad23@reddit
Girder*
stumanchu3@reddit
Glad to have you aboard Bender, now this will only take a moment, and I promise it won’t hurt.
mologav@reddit
😳
ageofaquarius26@reddit
Boat hack for low bridges.
Raneynickelfire@reddit
It broke in half.
Fleischer444@reddit
He’s Norwegian, as a Swede I can tell you he’s was not sober.
Hordearius@reddit
I appreciate the local perspective ;-). I hope he made it to the next pub safely.
Fleischer444@reddit
Yes, I would never lie about our close neighbour and friends…
That-Makes-Sense@reddit
They ran out of masting tape.
Original_Dood@reddit
Looks like the catwalk on the mark probably snapped the forestay as they crashed and it buckled the mast.
Arizona_Sailor@reddit
More cowbell
Silent_Refuse_2246@reddit
Probably set a gps course to the mark. Amazing how accurate GPS is nowadays.
honestfyi@reddit
And amazing how stupid drunk people on powerboats can be.
Not referring to whatever happened here, but I’ve heard stories about precisely this where I sail.
Robxray@reddit
mistook it for marker 96.. got the 69 treatment
TenYearHangover@reddit
69ing is a good thing
RonPalancik@reddit

TenYearHangover@reddit
The front fell off?
josnik@reddit
Uff da!
kynde@reddit
Rather decent performance for a Norwegian sailor.
josnik@reddit
Too much rakfisk and akevitt
MathJameson@reddit
69

Candygramformrmongo@reddit
Nice.
xaranetic@reddit
It's an embarrassing clusterfuck, but is it really a lifeboat situation?
mmomtchev@reddit
If there is a leak, it is. And even if there is no leak, you need help to recover the boat, you can't really manoeuvre in the port like this.
Stygg_Varg@reddit
Personally i inflate the liferaft at the first sign of any trouble. If that means I can't afford to go cruising because repacks are expensive then so be it.
_naturalhigh_@reddit
Nice
That-Makes-Sense@reddit
Does anybody know someone that's good with welding aluminum?
Expensive_Dig_6695@reddit
Beneteau 36.7 looks like 40.7 but unless that guy is 6’9”…?
Dofus25@reddit
Just a 10k to 20k repair or Get a little duct tape it'll be good as new
alex1033@reddit
A very sad photo. But boy, the green lights are beautiful.
cleverpunnyname@reddit
The main is so neatly flaked and that jib cleanly furled. That’s nice
imma_shiroo@reddit
Fender bender
Inner_Satisfaction85@reddit
Nice
snowdrone@reddit
The mast doesn't make sense. It looks like the AI is confusing the boom vs mast, and attached main sheet to the mast.
flyingron@reddit
Green, that means I go to the right? left? right? left? Boink.
Island_girl28@reddit
Haha, poor thing, that sucks
-ImMoral-@reddit
Ouch
Terrible_Stay_1923@reddit
Autohelm is accurate, so there's that
Westar-35@reddit
Wait, there’s another mast in the water already… how often does this happen there?
CptJonzzon@reddit
Idk if sarcasm, but if not.. his mast has snapped in two, thats what youre seeing
Westar-35@reddit
I first viewed on my PC and for some reason the top & bottom of the photo was cut off making the snapped section of mast look like a separate mast.
pommi15@reddit
I think youre seeing the forestay and furler, ya know?
Reasonable_Simple_32@reddit
In Norway? Almost never. This guy was sleeping.
gimoozaabi@reddit
But he already folded his mast. One night is ok I think.
lelekeaap@reddit
I really find it sad for the crew to see this.
Sambal_Oelek@reddit
That bouy.... Nice.
Slow_Attitude_5119@reddit
Oi mate, you can't park there!
