E-bikes don’t replace cycling. They unlock it.

Covering routes on ebike first lets you know what you are up against. Terrain and elevation changes via Google Maps are great. but until you cover the ground yourself you just don’t know. The potholes. The assholes in lifted trucks who drive in the bike lane to go around other cars and other bikes. First you do the routes on an e-bike. Do the routes on the E bike with less and less pedal assist over time. And then one day sooner than later you have the option to do it old school on a regular bicycle. you have more confidence and more strength. If you have multiple ailments…just do what you can, but I still suggest challenging yourself. Beat your younger self who had not touched a bicycle of any type in years. Make that person look bad.
