"Hardware is the only moat" - Should we buy new hardware now or wait?

Yeah, the crazy similarities. My dad's wife couldn't give him kids so he just had affairs, Stewart his seed like Ego from Guardians of the Galaxy, then after the mother's raised them, he would eventually go and offer them his last name like it was an apportunity for them to join his great family legacy. I met him briefly when I was 10, I was too honest and told him I didn't like the name, and never saw him again. I hired a private investigator to find him when I found out he was going to have a granddaughter (he always wanted a girl and only had sons), they found his obituary, which I wasn't even in. My mom was a drug addict, I was the one kid she never treated like her kid, and I know my father hurt her. She used to say he was the love of her life, but when she said I was just like him, it wasn't a compliment. She dated a lot of inmates, starting as pen pals. I read her letters, she used to talk shit about me, and it was pretty often some variation of promise to set me straight was involved, even though overall, I was a pretty good kid, easily the best of my siblings. One of her step-fathers of the year even paid someone to kill me. There's a bit of irony to it, but the man who treated me the best as a kid was my little brother's dad, and he was a literal murderer/ra**st/drug dealer, but he used to stand up for me, even to my mom, and wanted to adopt me, even though I hated him for beating my mom. Never happened of course, he was off to prison and extradited through a few states. You know though, I have to admit, my father did give me something. Maybe not the father I wanted, but I clearly got most of my genes from him, my wit included, and that is what kept me alive, I've depended on it my entire life. I always try to remind myself that I am the lucky one. My mother has 13 kids with 12 different men, I'm the only one that made it out. In that life, you see too much, I had friends whose lives were so much harder than mine, and so many of my friends aren't even still alive. I also tried to use the military to escape, it didn't go so well. I was proud that I owned my own company and by 32, I owned my own home I paid for in cash. I swear it feels like I never get to stop clawing my way out of that gutter and I always feel like I'm one slip away from ending up right back where I started, but there's no way I'm ever giving up or ever going back. I may not be wealthy, but I earned everything I have, and that includes my amazing wife and my children who will never understand the struggles that made me the way I am. I went from being the kid who screamed at the sky and had determined at 10 that I must be some sort of test experiment so God could see the limits of human suffering, to finding my faith in my late 20s, serving as an elder for years, going on mission trips like the pacific coast trips to help Katrina victims rebuild their homes. That kind of work really gives you perspective. Meanwhile, I continue to work with a clinical psychologist to work on controlling it so I'm not perpetually going into fight or flight. I'm good at hiding pain, sometimes I think that's what reminds me I'm still alive, but in spite all of my struggles, I'm very grateful for the life I have. I can still look at my life and see all the ways I am blessed.
