I'm out!

I'm out!
I'de rather plunge toilets, mop floors, siphon fuel, open a greasy strip club, bootleg moonshine, or tame a cougar in a pot field.

There’s nothing nefarious about accessing Netradyne thru your phone…the Netradyne camera itself is nefarious but accessing Netradyne on your phone is only to see what it’s reporting on you.

If it's a company phone it isnt am issue at all, that's what it's for. I suspect that's the case here. Fuck the CEO and his poodle if he thinks i'm putting anything company related on my personal cell though.

Byod has been the standard in the work force for two decades now. Sure they can't force you to put software in your device, but it snapshot can be required as a term of employment.

For low level workforces, yes. For any self respectable job, no. Reputable trucking companies issue tablets for you to control your workflow, that's what i use.

At that pricepoint a phone is comped into your pay by a longshot. Last i checked, a good bit of their communications and shit were actively monitored as well, are you saying every company should have that ability?

I'm saying that byod is common in the workforce regardless of industry. Has been for two decades

If it’s the one my company uses just wear shades like sun glasses and it doesn’t log anything.. besides that as long as your head doesn’t tilt downward your good you can still text, watch movies, etc…

I almost agree with you. But even with sunglasses the camera picks up the cellphone. 🙋🏾‍♂️ personally know bc it's got me.

Assuming you already have the camera in your truck? Driver I app is just for you to track your score for your bonus presumably. I say this as a company driver who uses the driver I app. The app itself doesn’t do anything.

I'm so glad I own my own truck and I don't have to deal with people monitoring and commenting on my every move...I could never go back to being a company driver again.

Ive never really had to much of an issue with my camera except the other day when I got my new truck, it had fallen on the dash and generated 27 violations, hard turn, high-G, etc most were labeled severe, so i just had to let my company know it was because it fell, other than that, it’s fine every now and then I get a moderate speeding violation usually when I’m in California for doing 60+ the only real “violation”
View on Reddit #85476175

vfittipaldi@reddit

What is that?
View on Reddit #85462599

PoopyStinkbutts@reddit

AI driving software that records violations both inside and outside the cab of your truck. It snips a video of the violation as well. My company has been using it for about two years now but it can be pretty stupid sometimes. I get a lot of "sleepy driver" notifications for one guy because he observes "aim high in steering", which is Smith Systems training, and doesn't wear sunglasses. So whenever he has to monitor his speed because it constantly nags him for it, it thinks he's getting sleepy by glancing down at his dash.
View on Reddit #85471427

vfittipaldi@reddit

Yeah i was afraid that its something like this. Basically all of these things are designed to put 100% of the blame on the driver. All of these little violations get added up in a file to be used against the driver in the future.
View on Reddit #85475132

PoopyStinkbutts@reddit

Actually, at least with my company, it doesn't. The only thing that goes on file is what is transferred over to a write up or incident report, which generally involves careless driving and/or an accident at which the driver is involved with. The software is pretty intensive on company servers because it records *a lot* of footage. My archive goes up 90 days for anything that's a non-coachable event, and even the coachable stuff goes away with improvement. And writeup stuff only sticks 365 days. Only accidents stay on permanently, for obvious reasons. Not excusing it, I'm actually not happy about it (believe it or not).

Company managed cell phones, most likely. In this case, the company has full control of the contents on said cell phone and can add and remove apps at any time.
View on Reddit #85461172

angrydeuce@reddit

This is pretty much why we dont even fuck with any of it and everyone gets a company phone.  Anyone that complains about having to carry two phones, no problem, the only phone youre *required* to have during work hours is your work phone, which is one phone. Plus its better for them, too.  No personal shit on the work phone, no work shit on the personal phone.  Easy peasy.
View on Reddit #85462729

FWD_to_twin_turbo@reddit

I'm *required* to have my personal phone for health reasons. 2 phones are no big deal though, as long as the company understands that i will not have my work phone on my person if i am not on duty. Any job that prevents you from accessing your personal phone in a safe manner is a shady fucking job for sure.
View on Reddit #85465247

angrydeuce@reddit

Sure! I'm just saying, a lot of people try to use the "two phones are too hard" as an excuse to not carry a work phone, and that's what we tell them. We don't give a shit if they carry their personal phone too, of course, just that when they're on the clock, they better have the work phone on them lol
View on Reddit #85467442

DumatRising@reddit

Yeah it's really not hard. I've had a work phone and a personal phone for ages just cause it's good to keep everything separated and it's very convenient to have phone number for friends and family that doesn't get bombarded by spam calls and funnel all that into my work phone that I can just turn off without worrying about someone I care about trying to contact me. They both fit in my pocket and don't take much space in the cab.

Those Netradyne cameras aren't bad. They aren't just for disciplinary, they are also to help you be a better driver by giving you feedback on your driving. The higher your driver score at the end of the year, the bigger your bonus is at our company. I bait people into cutting me off all day long just so I can get an "Increased following distance by decreasing speed" driver star.
View on Reddit #85462481

CapitanPino@reddit

Better driver but you bait people to cut you off? What the fuck... turning real life driving into a point system game is diabolical and dystopian. You literally in the same comment said "helps make you a better driver" to "i bait people to cut me off so I get a shiny driver star" What are you a toddler? Fuck off.

They can't auto install onto your personal phone unless you willingly (and stupidly) allowed them to install an MDM profile onto your phone. Realistically, this means drivers using phones provided by the carrier.

Where they gonna go? How many companies are left that dont have cameras? If it isnt netradyne its motive. If it isnt motive its omnitracs. But netradyne is the nectar of the devil as far as ai cameras go.

View on Reddit #85462463

If its a company phone they already save your text messages to icloud. If you have a company phone “yes sir” “understood ma’am” etc. nothing else. Amazon used to use netradyne and an app from FICO that tracks your driving score similar to a credit score. Its only a matter of time.
