Apocalypse Early Warning System: In the event of an imminent nuclear apocalypse, we suspect that many people who have access to private jets will immediately take to the skies and escape city centers. This site tracks this indicator in realtime.

I'd be heading towards the city centers. Who want's to be a survivor in the nuclear winter? Not I.

Kyle McDonald announced that, due to capital requirements, he will offer shares of his self-developed “Apocalypse Early Warning System” project for sale in the over-the-counter private market. According to the announcement, the share price has been set at 2 USD per share.
This system was developed as a specialized early warning infrastructure designed to detect potential large-scale risks in advance by analyzing global crises, economic collapses, geopolitical tensions, and the sudden movements of high-net-worth individuals.
Kyle McDonald stated that interest in the project has been growing rapidly, but the current capital structure is insufficient to take the system to the next level. For this reason, he decided to move forward with a private placement model, offering investors the opportunity to become early-stage partners in the project.
Investors will be able to participate in the project at a rate of 2 USD per share and gain the opportunity to benefit from the system’s future growth potential. It was also stated that the sale will be carried out with limited allocation and will only be available to selected investor groups.
The official announcement and detailed information will be shared through the relevant platform.

Hmm, very convenient
Although I suspect celebrities and billionaires alike will probably find out roughly at the same time as us, they would barely have enough time to get up in the air.
I reckon only 20% to 30% would actually have enough time to flee.
skoomaking4lyfe@reddit
Celebrities maybe. I suspect most billionaires will get the same amount of warning as any politician. They have enough money to fund their own private early warning systems, including global satellite coverage.
Sevsquad@reddit
I think people underestimate 1) how sophisticated early warning systems are and 2) how fast a nuclear war plays out.
freedcreativity@reddit
3) How far a plane is from their current location. Outside of being physically on the airport, on helicopter, or having a private airstrip, I doubt even with \~30 minutes of warning they could scramble their jet. And get airborne, and get outside of the blast(s). This is all assuming you have a ground crew on 24 hour standby and everything works.
Someonejusthereandth@reddit
Well, billionaires probably can arrange that last bit but yeah, many are doing business or relaxing in remote locations on any given day, they will likely be too far from any airport.
skoomaking4lyfe@reddit
Billionaires hold significant stakes in every major defense contractor. They own (or own parts of) the companies that make early warning systems and components.
illknowitwhenireddit@reddit
Early warning systems provide 10-30 minutes of notice. Imagine you found out now, at the moment you read my comment, you have 30 minutes. How much time do you need to get to your airport/plane. Board, take off, and get far enough away to be safe?
skoomaking4lyfe@reddit
If I'm a billionaire, my luxury 20-bedroom underground doomsday bunker is probably closer than the plane. Might not be closer than my private helipad, though, depending on the layout.
illknowitwhenireddit@reddit
You still need to get to your helipad, get airborne, and get enough distance away from all possible targets.
SurgeFlamingo@reddit
That’s why Zuckerberg is out of the office and he has an AI clone answering questions. That dude is near his bunker
skoomaking4lyfe@reddit
Or to my luxury bunker.
illknowitwhenireddit@reddit
Yes I suppose if you happen to be at your bunker location when the notice happens you'll be able to get to it
Funzombie63@reddit
30 minutes of if it’s an ICBM but the next generation of nuclear payload delivery provides only minutes of warning to the military, much less the general public. Hypersonic Glide Vehicles are already in use by China, Russia and America. Good explanation on YouTube https://youtu.be/AHcswCR7zmk?si=WE0FLhiV2QUNnjgM
illknowitwhenireddit@reddit
I did state ten to thirty minutes, and for the sake of argument I went with the best case scenario just to help prove the point that it isn't much time if you're not already at or near your destination when the alwrt happens.
Funzombie63@reddit
Even 10 minutes is a lot more than the 3 minutes estimated by the video. 3 minutes you can barely get a message off to your family let alone the billionaires who are paying for advance info. Definitely not enough time to get to a bunker or take off in a plane
illknowitwhenireddit@reddit
Exactly. If 30 minutes isn't enough time, 10 minutes or 3 minutes certainly won't be.
MrVelocoraptor@reddit
Reminder that Russia hasn't even used a nuke against the country they're at war with who doesn't have nukes, and China is all about self-preservation and likely would be the last to make it rain
MrVelocoraptor@reddit
Bro the top elite are the ones causing the events that would lead to nuclear war. They'd know
SurgeFlamingo@reddit
Yeah but now they have a website that tells them if other billionaires or celebrities are in the air so they can get in the air too.
MrVelocoraptor@reddit
You're right. All the nuclear wars I've seen move at a decent pace
nist7@reddit
They're also super well connected to politicians/others of power....so they will be getting one of the earliest phone calls. Those less fortunate will likely want potentially a spot in their doomsday bunker if the politician calls with an advanced warning and hope for a spot for themselves/their family. And I imagine they might have their own private system like you said...people and hardware monitoring for any early signs as well
GalaxyPatio@reddit
Plus they'll probably have already placed bets on it happening, so they'll know down to the exact moments
MrVelocoraptor@reddit
Honestly... they've already insider traded the appcalypse

I've heard the words "explosive obedience collars" have being floated around
pheonix080@reddit
There is a point where people have to put them on. They aren’t wearing them now. Even odds that the security staff just torture the rich people or threaten their families and then they will be running the show. Or they accept that they are likely already dead and decide to pop their employer and then worry about their future.
BigJSunshine@reddit
All a cook has to do is poison the food. By the time the rich realize they’ve been poisoned, unlikely to have the means to harm the staff?
rhetoric-for-robots@reddit
Apparently Putin has staff taste/eat everything before he will touch it.

I'm sure there will be people trying to emulate supervillain tropes by having some sort of deadman switch on themselves to prevent their servants/slaves from harming them.
Bored_Acolyte_44@reddit
We are all wearing metaphorical obedience collars right now. Health care tied to jobs, housing that goes away without money being thrown at it.
If we stop being productive we die.

Good luck getting those fitted in the 7-10 minutes available before the world turns into a radioactive dirt cloud. Billionaires thinking they can out run and out last an apocalypse are just as delusional as ancient Emperors thinking there’s an elixir of youth. The reality is most would die in an office block or stuck in traffic, those who don’t might get the chance to die in a plane crash.
hauntedhullabaloo@reddit
Honestly the cruelty of our species knows no bounds
Comrade_Compadre@reddit
It's shocking how such a small percentage of the worst individuals in history were spared from the guillotine
voidsong@reddit
Most of their "contingency plans" are more about people who are happy to take their money for something that won't work, and a promise they won't have to keep.
People swindle rich idiots on stuff like this all the time. Think of all those clowns who paid hundreds of thousands to have their head frozen after death. It doesn't work, it will never work, but that won't stop you from taking some rich idiot's money for it.
RevTurk@reddit
That's always the funny thing about billionaires in movies. All their staff are mindless automatons that are always excellent at their job while having no concept of self preservation. "Sure, I'll go fight that guy who we just watched brutally kill 40 people with his own hands".
"Sure, I'll fly you to your private bunker so you can avoid a nuclear apocalypse, I'm sure my own family will be fine"
The very second modern society collapses those billionaires lose their power, without a state to protect them they will become the targets of everyone and no one will try to help them when money is meaningless.
voidsong@reddit
This. "End of Society" is very much an out of context problem for billionaires.
While society is running, money can get you pretty much anything.
This is the only context they understand, it's how things have always been for them, it's where their power comes from, and they don't know any other way.
They cannot even imagine a world where their money doesn't help them, but that's the world they will find themselves before they realize it.
It's like spending your entire life training in the desert to be the best knife fighter. You think you're invincible, amazing, the greatest human ever. And in that context, maybe you are. But then you have to do some underwater welding and you're utterly helpless.
overkill@reddit
I love the idea of out of context problems. Like a Spanish galleon appearing on the horizon for people who have never seen a boat bugger than a dugout canoe.
itwentok@reddit
Either way, it will be informative when they all take off at once.

dragonslayer137@reddit

Fun-Potato-8664@reddit
The pilots will just leave without them, why are they incentivised to stay? Game theory, money won't matter. Their skills as a pilot makes them gold.
Tearakan@reddit
Yep. Especially since the majority of them will be taking cars to the private runways.
Not many billionaires seem to like helicopter travel that much.
wump_world@reddit
I feel like they would be willing to make an exception in the case of nukes behind them?
Tearakan@reddit
Even then they would literally need a helicopter pilot on site who wouldn't just fly it away to try and save their own family.
MrVelocoraptor@reddit
Perchance

BabadookishOnions@reddit
as the pilot of such a plane why would you even fly him there? what if you could get your family on that plane faster, what if you decided to go be with your family when they die, what if you took over the bunker a billionaire is paying you to guard after a nuclear war? the staff of billionaires will not be reliable to them
ProgressiveKitten@reddit
I've read a book about it. It wasn't that good imo but yeah, they all fucked off and left the billionaire alone.
Maybe if the billionaire allows each person to bring their immediate family it might work.
BeardedGlass@reddit
I'd love to watch a movie about that, by a film studio like A24 or something.

Ok_Way9206@reddit
What a silly comment. If they are so fragile how come they sliced into those towers 25 years ago?😅😅😅😅
Striper_Cape@reddit
Airliners are fragile, but not the things they are made of. They are fragile because having new holes made while in flight usually turns the energy used for flight into kinetic and thermal energy, which is bad. Birds getting sucked into the engines usually brings aircraft down. You get it now? Messing up the delicate balance of lift and velocity exerts extremely violent forces onto aircraft, forces they are not made to deal with.

OP here, seems the site has made the front page of Drudge today. And another Indy coder gets their fame for a day. Congrats.

EdenSill@reddit
This whole premise is a bit silly. Let’s say the rich do have advance notice. How much advance notice are we talking? 30-45 min? ICBMs are extremely fast. Unless they are sitting on their jets already, ready to go, they are not going to get airborne. By the time they get to the airport and on their jets, the incoming nukes are going to be public knowledge. If they even make it to the airport with the ensuing pandemonium and gridlock, the air traffic controllers, ground personnel, etc, everyone required to get the plane going will likely be gone and trying to evacuate themselves. The taxiways/runways would likely be chaotic and blocked with aircraft that are no longer being coordinated by a controller. And what about the pilots? Perhaps if they are single they will be all for getting out of there with their client, but would a pilot with a family opt to try to save (or just be with) his/her family for potentially their final moments, or would they head to the airport to evacuate some rich asshole they probably hate working for?

Just keep away from significant population centres. I'm in southern Saskatchewan and I doubt Regina, Saskatoon would get hit but even still I could bypass heading north. Nuclear war is really about downwind.
videogamegrandma@reddit
If you could go back to 9/11 you could see all the planes Bush sent to get every Saudi Arabian royal family member and their retainers (and any other oil business partners) out of the US before he closed the airspace.
Akiraooo@reddit
Private jets take awhile to get into the air. This is not the miltary.
They would be dead by the time they do get into the air.
khakiwallprint@reddit
It'd be a lot of empty jets repositioning to where the idiot owners are watching the strikes while the idiot owners are stuck in traffic on the way to the airport
Chill_Panda@reddit
Also add to the fact that nukes actually detonate in the air.
Like I don't see a private jet doing jack shit unless they have hours of a warning
elihu@reddit
Distance from the center of the explosion is much more important than whether you're on the ground or in the air, and planes can travel a lot faster than a ground vehicle. I suppose the biggest practical matter is that the range at which the pilots would be blinded by the flash is probably much further than the range at which a nuke would physically destroy the plane. In a ground vehicle you could just slam on the brakes and stop, but in a plane you need to be able to land. (A fancy plane might be able to land itself in normal situations, but in a nuclear war you probably have to assume GPS isn't working and neither is any of the radio communication and navigation gear that would make an automatic landing possible.)
Flying with welding goggles probably wouldn't be all that much fun. (I don't know if the automatic electronic shutter kind are fast enough to handle a nuke flash or you'd have to use the old-style dark-all-the-time kind.) I suppose if they were planning ahead, they could have blackout curtains for all the windows and fly IFR.
Having a backup pilot with face covered or flying with one eye covered so you can switch to the other eye are also options, but if there's more than one flash from more than one nuke, you eventually run out of spare eyes.
alphaxion@reddit
There's also the shockwave of the air, which usually travels much much faster than a private jet is capable of.
If you can get away quickly, then distance is again helping you as the force of the shockwave will go down proportional to your distance. But, if you're still within a certain range of an airburst detonation, you're in for the worst possible turbulence.
specialsymbol@reddit
I can get a plane in the air within twelve minutes. If needed I could skip the checks and make it four. Three if I don't close the hangar gate.
Bored_Acolyte_44@reddit
How long to get to your hangar?
Come on now. Be realistic.
specialsymbol@reddit
Well. Half an hour if the highway is empty. But if I were rich I could live in walking distance
HereForVintageNBA@reddit
I don't think there are many mansions within walking distances of airports, lol.
Bored_Acolyte_44@reddit
Yeah, its getting there that is the problem. By the time you get the warning and your brain puts all the pieces together, gets everyone you love in the car, and start driving, it's already dubious.
Happy-Fun-Ball@reddit
Two if you just go through it ... Oh Yeah!
Frank_Scouter@reddit
Are your aircraft fueled and ready to fly? Ours aren’t. If they already have enough fuel on for whatever flight you’re planning, and it’s an empty airport without traffic, i’m inclined to agree. Though if you manage to take off in 3 minutes, I would be amazed if you didn’t forget some pins or covers before taking off.
specialsymbol@reddit
Good point. Could be the case, or couldn't. They should not be parked with less than half a fuel tank.
TheOtherHobbes@reddit
How long if there's a queue?
Funzombie63@reddit
All it takes is one impatient pilot trying to cut the flight line and runway is blocked. Just like the highways
Akiraooo@reddit
You may be able too, but I doubt your abilities are common.
winterbird@reddit
Would be common among pilots.
Akiraooo@reddit
Are you a billionaire? Because this is a post a out them. Not you.
Cybertronian10@reddit
Not to mention that I doubt they would receive any actually meaningfully advance notice of something as sudden as a nuclear apocalypse. They would have minutes at max.
orrangearrow@reddit
If it's a single or isolated nuclear attack, it takes roughly half an hour from launch to terminal stage. A response would take another half an hour and a full blown retaliation would be another half an hour. 90 minutes total. It takes roughly an hour to prep a private jet for takeoff but that can be condensed to 30-45 minutes given necessity. A billionaire concerned with this eventuality will have their pilot stationed nearby and a dummy crew on site 24 hours ready to prep their jet for evacuation. This is crucial because you need them working the second you see the warning (a prep crew might evacuate themselves if they see the warning before prep is done).
This of course doesn't matter if it's a full blown preemptive nuclear strike. This also doesn't work if the initial strike hits within EMP range of your airstrip. It also doesn't work if you don't have some sort of leverage over your pilot or your crew finds out and ditches before the plane is prepped. But if you have a billion dollars and concerns about the apocalypse, you're still hedge your bets that you have time to bail.
These people also likely have connections deep within system that would warn them if this was immanent and could start prep early have a plane on standby. They have an advantage to survive the start of it. I'd prefer to be willfully ignorant and take some atoms to the face because they will their own terrible fate in the aftermath.
meatspace@reddit
Your list of possible failure points in this escape plan is why it will not work out for these people.
They have to hope there's no EMP, that their staff is more loyal to them than anything else in the whole world, and that their team runs like a formula One team at the end of the world.
That's why they want robots. They think their robots will just slave for them endlessly.
orrangearrow@reddit
What I suspect is multiple EMP blasts in the atmosphere... it would likely just take 4-8 of them to completely cripple 95% of the US infrastructure for months and then you wouldn't need the bombs to create a mass casualty event of a national scale. Time and a lack of supply chain resources would do what hellfire didn't.
meatspace@reddit
There's no bunker or private army to protect from the scenario you just described.
orrangearrow@reddit
I agree but I also guarantee there are billionaires who think otherwise which is the scenario I described.
meatspace@reddit
The whole problem with the world has become these billionaires believe that their staff will rally to the positions in nuclear war and thus they will just ride off into the sunset as if we were planning a beach trip.
If they understood how this would really play out, they would be heavily investing in us throwing parades for them.
ScarletCarsonRose@reddit
I take comfort in you post. If we burn, they burn. Literally.
theCaitiff@reddit
We will all go together when we go!
ScarletCarsonRose@reddit
Indeed. Truly uplifting. Love the rhyme schemes in it.
thom365@reddit
You're assuming that a response would be launched after the first strike. This isn't correct. A response would be launched before the first nuclear detonation. Nuclear war would likely be over in less than an hour.
orrangearrow@reddit
It depends on the magnitude of the initial attack. If multiple missiles are fired on Iran or Israel for example, it would take half an hour for that info to get to all the power players and have them in a position to respond and then they'll all have options on how to respond that could be a minor retaliation or a massive one. There is no certain path of how this goes down. And while I'm sure some players would love to smash that red button to end the world, I suspect many/most do not. China for example. They have a 100 year plan and nuclear winter ain't it. If the first strike is a premtpive decapitation event, then our missiles likely cross in the air and it's game over for everybody. The variables in nuclear war are vast.
Enough-Force2198@reddit
you are under-estimating how long it takes to get a plane flight ready from a cold start and over-estimating the amount of warning we will get.

They will go underground into the bunkers they bought a ticket for.
Look it up, there are a few different bunker organizations. One of which, the Epstein guy was a chairman of.
It is unfeasible to fly around when nukes are going off. You have to land at some point.
Maybe some will fly, who knows. But the politicians (who play ball with the agenda), business men, bureaucrats, etc. will be going underground. This isn’t talked about enough.
rmscomm@reddit
Getting out with a plane has a few challenges. Getting clear of a blast area and the EMP would present challenges especially with most modern fly by wire jets. The next thing would be having the right survival gear to make it out of thr fallout area as well as knowing what to do in the event of pilot failure. Learning to fly yourself would be ideal in my opinion. It’s one of the reasons I got my license.

Wooden-Fly-6821@reddit
I wonder if there's a tracker for mega yacht marina traffic? Jets aren't the only option open to them, some will be heading out to sea because they can live quite comfortably out there with how stocked some of those yachts are with food and meds.
They will most likely still have access to sat nav unless the satellites are targeted with missiles. If a news article come out saying that there's a massive upsurge in unpaid marina fees in affluent areas over a short span of time then this could be a sign that the shit is about to hit the fan.
Indigo_Sunset@reddit
Not enough discussion on the potential for sea groupings of billionaires. Have a look at typical ranges of ocean going vessels on a single tank of diesel, then wonder what if a cargo ship or two were planted in the vast with transponders off. It's easier to fill a ship and have it set sail than it is to hide bunker construction.
There's going to be crossover of course, and fleets are not immune to all things, but as an option there are worse considerations than being mobile, difficult to track (during a collapse scenario), difficult to siege, and relatively self sufficient with enough prep.
BigJSunshine@reddit
Never thought of that. Well now I know that in a non-nuclear SHTF scenario, I loot the medical cabins of yachts and cruise ships is something to consider
lowrads@reddit
Those missiles aren't usually intended for cities, but for security hardened sites. If a hostile power wanted to target a soft site, it's faster and more economical to use a shipping container than a ballistic missile. They could just covertly install the device in a building, and connect it to the internet.
It is mainly just the US government that counts targeting civilian sites as something worth crowing about in corporate media. Luckily, it is also its modus operandi to use the most expensive method of accomplishing such ignoble goals.
Whatthemonkeyturd@reddit
Uuuuh last time we were attacked we completely shut down the air space immediately. Billionaires being shot out of the sky by the military would be one hell of a sight to see though.
ejpusa@reddit (OP)
Times have changed. The billionaires can probably take control of the USA airspace with a few phone calls.

So, people who live in places where these jets plan on landing should park vehicles on the runways?
Conscious_Praline228@reddit
This tracks all private Cessnas and such, which I believe make up the majority of the database. These are mostly average boomer small-business-owner types. It’s highly unlikely that at Level 5 event all of these Cessna owners would be aware of whats going on and decide to be airborne at the same time.

Just watch Miracle Mile.... They cover all of this

Lex Luther hired a speedster to come save him in the event of a nuclear attack. Have our current billionaires done the same?
Otherwise I think the nukes will be faster than their airport transportation

This is part of the premise in the movie Miracle Mile.

Right because flying is gonna be a really smart move when the EMP from the nukes hit and crashes your airplane.

They mention that planes are actaully battle harded against EMP forces. Part of the design.
KlicknKlack@reddit
Umm... the EMP is only one of the issues. Have you ever seen the shockwave a nuclear explosion creates? There ain't no recovering from that mid-flight if you are within a certain distance.
Kahnza@reddit
Military planes, yes
ejpusa@reddit (OP)
Don't think this is like a 15 min warning. It's knowing what happening a day or 2 ahead. Just like the big spikes in the prediction markets. Someone always has the inside info.
Gives you plenty of time to head out of town.

I wouldn't bet on having enough time to outrun a nuclear bomb

Show me how this is field tested and show me the idiots that volunteered to fly a plane into a nuke blast to do so.
Bullshit
Previous-Pomelo-7721@reddit
But they can fly towards the nuke and hopefully vaporize themselves quickly, while enjoying a glass of champagne on their way out
twentyafterfour@reddit
I'm imagining the pilot getting the call that nukes are coming and to wait 20 minutes on the tarmac for their billionaire to get there and then just taking off.
Funzombie63@reddit
Early warning systems are based on ICBM launch detection and tracking which is now old tech.
The military only has a few minutes to react to the next generation of nuclear payload delivery, Hypersonic Glide Vehicles (HGVs), there’s no chance to warn the general public unless they launched first. Takes 30 minutes to travel to target but it stays in the upper atmosphere which prevents long range radar observation. Defender will not be aware until a few minutes before impacts. There’s currently no established defence against HGVs. HGVs are already in use by China, Russia and America. China’s version has a MIRV with 10 warheads. Good explanation on YouTube https://youtu.be/AHcswCR7zmk?si=WE0FLhiV2QUNnjgM

That happened immediately before Russia attacked us in 2022, I saw an abnormal amount of private planes for about 3 days before the invasion began.

Can't speak to how practical this will be either way, as I have a soul in this current human incarnation and mercifully am not privy to how the Epstein class thinks. But I did find the link darkly amusing and got a nice chuckle from it over my morning coffee. Added it to my phone just for kicks.

Well, they would be idiots, then. If there is an actual nuclear apocalypse, I want the first bomb to land on my fucking forehead. Anyone outside the blast radius is spending the rest of their days in a living nightmare.
DisturbingPragmatic@reddit
If I hear nukes are coming, I'm getting my cats, my partner, and putting us all in the car to drive straight towards the biggest city near me. I'd rather vaporize instantly than dealing with shitting my intestines out due to radiation.
countrypride@reddit
Frankly, of all the collapse-related things I worry about, this one is at the bottom of my list. If the nukes start flying, I've got my place.
Not to dis because I know you're old school like me, but I really don't understand the premise. If a nuke is launched, I'm pretty sure the 20-30 minute head start that people "in the know" might have isn't going to do them much good anyway. I wouldn't want to be in a plane anywhere near a nuclear blast or within EMP range. Sounds like suicide to me.
Mad_Ronin_Grrrr@reddit
High altitude nuclear blasts can emit an emp that can wipe entire continents. What goes up will come down hard.
Locke03@reddit
I have my doubts about the utility of a tool like this, at least with regards to a large-scale nuclear exchange. If nuclear apocalypse is imminent, its likely that either everyone knows due to months or years of very obvious degrading geopolitical conditions and someone with access to nukes at risk of a serious military loss if they do not use them, or no one knows because its an impulsive first strike by a rogue actor that actively disdains current geopolitical norms. (i.e. Trump but with even fewer constraints on their actions).
Somethingpithy123@reddit
for a nuclear weapon to do the most damage it needs to be detonated at an altitude, not at ground level or the ground absorbs half the explosion. You know what else happens with airburst? EMP‘s. if it’s a mass attack planes are gonna be falling out of the sky.
ramdom-ink@reddit

If you’re not already gone and sheltered in your whatever bunker shelter thing by the time the button is pushed its too late.
ICBM flight time from Russia (lets just assume) to either US coast is about 20-25 minutes from land-based silos. Submarine? Knock around 10 minutes off that. But lets just say you are a billionaire tech bro and get a call from someone in the “Situation Room” or NORAD right beforehand; it’s happening.
You somehow get to your private jet near-immediately. You take off in minutes, ignoring all safety pre-checks and clearance from the traffic control tower. Yay you made it!
Whoops, those clever Russkies learned you only need to detonate one large high-altitude burst centrally over the US to effectively EMP-surge the whole country at the speed of light. You head out over the ocean? The EMP impacts from the coastal bursts extend hundreds of miles out toward you.
This tool would watch the slow rats try to scurry off the ship already 90% submerged.
ElephantContent8835@reddit
This is pretty silly. Nukes take less than 20 minutes to get here. Do you think that the rich can get their shit together, head to the airport, take off, etc etc within that time frame?
Pilgrim_of_Reddit@reddit
Don’t forget that the rich and wealthy, worldwide, will share that information. Oligarchs want other oligarchs to survive.
I expect a 4 week to 6 week advance warning, followed by a 1 week imminent warning.

I may be wrong, but I doubt global nuclear war will ever happen. The powers that be don't have the balls to pull the trigger. An insane and demented Trump might do it, but that's a black swan event as most of the elites want to continue lording over their plebs.

Brother, of the nuclear war breaks out no one is going to survive. There will be no fallout like ending. There will be no survivors. Those jets wouldn't even fly any more. Nukes are also has an emp affect to them.
Konradleijon@reddit

Nathan-Stubblefield@reddit
A private jet is not where you want to be during the flash and shockwave. It’s unlikely one could alert a private jet crew, drive to the airport, fly to a remote location and get into a shelter there before the blast and fallout. Outside the blast and fire radius, an underground or basement shelter for 2 weeks is a much better plan.
ejpusa@reddit (OP)

refusemouth@reddit
Wouldn't an EMP weapon fry the electronics in a jet and knock it out of the sky? In the event of an all-out nuclear war, the EMPs are pretty critical for shutting down air defenses and power grids.
papyup@reddit
Not necessarily, and proximity matters a great deal when dealing with EMP. Most airborne traffic would be fine since it wouldn’t be right at ground zero.
The bigger problem with using this as an indicator is that it assumes the rich have the forethought and the information that a nuclear strike is imminent, and that they would have enough time to plan and ready the the flight.
From what we’ve seen in this last decade, the billionaire Epstein class has less foresight than most of us. If they know something’s going down soon, the rest of us probably know too.
memarco2@reddit
Instead, look for relocations and liquidation. There was a massive exodus from Iran by their wealthy and nonpartisan elites about 2-4 weeks before the main strikes hit the country

This site watches a fixed cohort of business jets and asks a simple question: is the number currently airborne unusual for this time? It is not tracking all aircraft. The original version used an FAA-only business-jet list. The current tracker builds a broader global aircraft metadata table by merging ADS-B Exchange aircraft records, Mictronics/tar1090 records, and FAA registry data by ICAO hex. The importer classifies metadata into business jets, military aircraft, large airliners, regional airliners, non-jet aircraft, and other known types, then applies a practical business-jet filter. Each tracked aircraft is matched in live data by its ICAO hex identifier.

The only problem is they have to land the plane and get out.
Kahnza@reddit
They also have to get from where they are, to the plane at the hanger at the airport. That's gonna take forever unless they have a helicopter sitting in their yard waiting.
They'll never make it.
AlwayInForwardMotion@reddit
Fun! As a non paying user I have a few feature requests. 1. When I zoom the map in and out it would be cool if the stats adjusted to reflect just the view area. 2. If the planes were smaller I’d feel like I was getting more detail. 3. I’d love to get a full year view on the archive.
I’m excited for the notifications! Any time the rich and connected are all of a sudden moving I want to know about it. Didn’t know I wanted that but now I do. I can think of a lot of interesting non nuke situations that it will be cool for. IDK if they would fly out during ongoing strikes or just enter their nearest bunker. Either way significant fluctuations in activity mean something. Thanks for the cool new toy!

Ok, so how do we track those going underground? I think that’s far more likely. Yeah, it’s good to track the jets as well, but the bunkers are more important imo.
