I couldn't stand the regular progressive lens field of vision and just have no-line bifocals in the standard shape for regular daily use. I have dedicated near vision only glasses for computer/details work. I kept the hard shell case they came in and have one pair sleeved while using the other. I also have driving sunglasses that I keep in the car. Do you have a case you could use? Is your computer use sit or stand? Desk or counter? My method may not be prudent for your day to day but if you've the space to lay them down... it works.

I couldn’t tolerate progressive contacts, but they worked great visually when I had them. I have no clue what sort of voodoo is used to make them work, but they do. Everything from reading fine print to distance worked with them. Now I use progressive, bifocal and single vision eyeglasses depending on what I need at the time.

Really? I hate progressives while working. The field of vision is too narrow for me. If I'm only working on a small screen, its manageable. But a 3 monitor setup? Forget it, I like to just glance over with my eyes to one of the other screens. But with progressives I have to keep turning my head to focus on the other monitor, its so annoying.

I have 6 pair! a reading pair, a computer pair, a distance pair. a progressive for driving and social events that does distance and computer, and a progressive that does computer & reading that I never use. I also have a progressive sunglasses that is distance and computer (again for driving and social events). I wear the computer pair, and the driving&computer progressive most often.

I carry readers and a flashlight. At home I just yell for my wife who can see in the dark but can't see semi truck 50 feet away. At work I hand off the paperwork to a younger guy or tell the mechanic my back hurts I can't up/over/under my truck to check an issue.

I have idiot strings and three vision distances. I'm still too vane/stubborn/frightened/stupid to wear glasses constantly, so the strings come out when I go out. I tried one progressive lens and couldn't get used to the varying focal lengths. I already smoke weed, don't need to amplify the effect.

Progressives and Computer glasses here. I simply set one pair down on my desk in front of me so I can't miss them. It's not a big deal at all. When I come into work I have 2 hard sided glasses cases clipped to my bag, one for sunglasses and the other for computer glasses. I get my coffee mug and grab the computer glasses. When i leave for the day I put the computer glasses in the case. Easy. The only issue I have is if I forget the comptuer glasses at home, only over the weekend will I take the computer glasses out of the case. It happens but not very often.

I hate progressives, and the cause constant visual confusion for me while walking, especially on stairs. I went with trifocals - the top regular mag, computer lenses in the middle, and reading mag on the bottom. I work with comptuers and mobile devices constantly for $dayJob, and this has worked out fantastically. I also have sungalsses with this same config/Rx.

I have computer glasses. I have an open hard-sided glasses case sitting in front of my computer, with a microfiber cloth laid in it. When I come in in the morning, I take off my progressive lenses, leave them open, and place them lens-down on the microfiber cloth in the case. I put on my computer glasses that I pick up from said case. Quick and easy swap, always here when I need them and always ready to go. Keep your computer glasses with your computer.

I joined this club earlier this year. I have computer readers and progressives. About half the time I forget to switch out of the progressives when I'm doing close computer work so maybe I don't need them as badly. I do notice immediately when I forget to put the progressives back on -- everything is super-blurry. But basically I keep the computer readers on my desk and try to remember to put them on when I'm sitting at it!

I leave my computer specs at my desk. I don’t use them anywhere else because they can be blurry. I leave my glasses case open and just put whatever pair I’m not wearing in there for the time being. I have three pairs. Rx sunglasses I keep in my purse, my computer specs and my “bifocals” haha!

This. Eyeglass case at each computer desk, one at work, one at home. Each has a pair of computer glasses. When I get to the desk wearing long-distance glasses I swap them. Third eyeglass case in the purse to swap sunglasses and long-distance glasses. Fortunately I don't need reading glasses. When that happens I'm going out on the ice floe.

I didn’t need a new prescription. There’s a [formula](https://www.zennioptical.com/help/lens-types-coatings/single-vision-computer?srsltid=AfmBOorulqlVEmhyTwWAstTRHQPui7mZJGbots52mM5IAkj0E-Xu934K) you apply to your ADD to get your computer distance prescription. If you have an astigmatism correction, use it unchanged. To get the computer distance progressives, I ordered regular progressives with computer distance on top and reading distance on the bottom.

I have 3 sets of prescription glasses. Progressives for most of the time / general use. They work for pretty much anything including using a laptop. Single-vision prescription set up specifically for my office setup (I actually gave them my eye-to-monitor measurement when I went in to get the prescription so they could make the lens for that distance). This is a different distance than typical laptop usage. Single-vision distance sunglasses. I can barely read my watch or phone when I'm wearing them.

I have 3 pairs of prescription glasses - distance sunglasses, distance inside glasses, and reading glasses. My husband chose to go with progressives years ago, he had terrible dizziness adjusting to them. I have dizziness and balance issues, so I knew I wouldn‘t use progressives. Not worth the risk. I’m retired, so I don’t have the issue of needing to switch between glasses frequently. At home, I wear my reading glasses most of the time. If I’m watching television, I wear my distance glasses. When I’m outside, I wear my distance sunglasses. Going to the store, doctor, out to eat I wear my distance glasses. I keep my distance and reading glasses in a bowl on the dining room table. If I take one pair off, they go in the bowl while I wear the other pair. This is mainly because I accidentally threw a pair of glasses away several years ago, and I needed an easy, dummy-proof system. I don’t know if that’s feasible for a work situation, though.

Sucks. I have one pair of short-range single-vision for my office work because I have three big monitors and can't handle the distortion from progressives. I then have a pair of progressives for everything else. It's a giant PITA. For me I just put my computer glasses on my computer and I have a glasses case beside them for my progressives. So it's one or the other at all times and only one place where they'll be.

I've got progressive lenses that seem to do all the jobs I need. This pair came with a blue light filter (snaps to the front) that I leave at work for my computering. I have snap on sunglasses as well as yellow lenses for easier night driving. I prefer amber lenses, so I double up - the grey sunglasses and yellow night filter when it's bright and sunny out. My tender old lady eyes need a break.

I'm realizing how extremely lucky I am not to need glasses at age 57. I had LASIK in my thirties and the results have mostly persisted. They got me down to 20/10 and at this point I'm around 20/30 or so, and I don't need glasses for reading.

I got my progressive lenses to have a wider trading channel down the center than typical so I could use them on the computer. Then I rotated my screen so it was in portrait orientation. It’s working for me. I can read my whole screen without twisting my head back and forth like a damn cartoon.

I returned the first pair of lenses as being inadequate. Insurance wasn’t happy but I insisted. I really needed a wider reading channel. My job didn’t require a wide screen display. Both my software and most websites optimize their displays to fit the orientation of the screen. So I just read longer columns of text instead of wider ones. I’m mildly annoyed I didn’t think of it sooner. But I’m much happier with my desk setup now. And I don’t need to switch glasses to change activities.

I got the computer use glasses along with regular progressives a few months ago. I bought a decent hardcase to keep the pair I wasn't wearing in. It was annoying to deal with. Didn't care for the frames on the regular pair and started wearing the office ones more at home. On the third time I forgot to switch back to the normal pair to go to work I decided it was a pain to deal with. Then I bought some progressive safety glasses that look like normal glasses because I use tools a lot and need to be better about protecting my eyes. I haven't worn anything since and no one has asked if that's what they are. That's my solution.

My distance vision is fine, I just correction for reading, the computer, the car dashboard, etc, so I wear progressives basically all the time, with virtually no correction up top. I've got a few pairs of stronger readers for close-up stuff, like some of my crafty and diy stuff, and I just leave them at my desks or workbenches/tables. I've also got a couple of those magnifiers with a ring light on an extendable arm, one at my drafting desk and at one of my workbenches in the garage. For the car or outside I've got magnetic clip-on sunglasses. Unfortunately, they're polarized and I can't see my phone or the aftermarket touchscreen in my car very well with them on. I've seriously been considering getting multifocal contacts. Then I could dispense with glasses entirely other than sunglasses. But neither of the optometrists I've talked to about them think they're very good (they said they're a compromise, like an all-in-one, okay at everything but not great at any one thing).

My eyes are really bad, like -8 diopter prescription and I have presbyopia. My scheme is: contacts “detuned” by 1 so they are comfortable for most daily tasks and conversations. Driving glasses for full distance clarity with progressive bifocals to see the dashboard. Computer glasses for comfort at arms length screen for multiple hours per day for work. These include all the fancy anti glare and anti strain blue-blocker coatings. Plus I keep a pair of foldable pocket readers for looking at menus or grocery ingredients and such while out and about.

I keep my sunglasses in my car (prescription). I wear my computer glasses around the house unless I am watching TV, then I use my bi-focals. I will were them out to the car, where if it is sunny out, I will then switch to my sunglasses and then switch back when I get to my destination if I am not going to be hanging outdoors.

I have progressives for everyday wear and fixed distance computer glasses. After I got the computer glasses from my optometrist I got two backup pairs for cheap from Zenni. I leave one at home and one at work and the “good” ones are supposed to stay in my backpack except when I’m using them. But I am forgetful so quickly realized having the spares made life better. :)

I had my optometrist set up the focus on my trifocals for my car’s dashboard/ reading something held in my lap on the bottom of the lens, distance vision on the top, and a little sliver in the middle for computer use. I tried progressive lenses when I first needed glasses, but I couldn’t adjust to them. Everything looked like it was leaning towards me.

The kind that partially tint behind the windshield. They may not get as dark as regular sunglasses for driving, but I find them to be more than sufficient.

I have a pair of regular progressives and a pair of progressive sunglasses for everyday use. I have one pair of reading glasses for close-up work. And I have two pairs of computer glasses. One pair of computer glasses lives at my desk, and the other pair is in a glasses case in my purse. The reading glasses and computer glasses I order online pretty cheaply. It's definitely annoying, but I try to remember to be grateful that I can get my vision corrected at all.

+1 for leaving them at the office! Sadly, mine have 3 zones and are pretty narrowly focused, so looking at larger monitors involves an ungainly amount of head movement. Computer pair works well, but I may have to resort to just leaving them at the office ... actually, that makes for a great reason not to fix my relatives' computers! "So sorry, I can't see with these dang multifocals ... such a pity. Oh well!"
