At least for men, I think they still look pretty damn good.

They went out of style? They have them at shops, I’ve seen themZ

I still had my acid washed jean jacket up till a year ago.

Because they look appalling. Plus the process to produce that effect is environmentally unsound.

Because look at them

I buy what I like. Don’t really care if in style or not. I go for quality and buy to once type clothes for work and for more casual just buy brands I like an know how they fit. I hate going to stores so online is always preferred.
Gratefulgirl13@reddit
Pretty sure they are trying. Saw several dark acid wash styles at Von Maur and Nordstrom a couple of months ago.

They were ugly back then. Ugly now.

What is this "into style" phrase that you mentioned? Meaningless to me...
MaximumJones@reddit
If I wore jeans, I would still wear them.
I only wear shorts and flip flops though.

Wear what you like. 80’s trends are popular because or kids nostalgia for their parents youth. I would never wear massive shoulder pads or acid wash, or jelly shoes because I hated them back then. But I love seeing youngsters rock what was popular in my day, especially the rocker look and tees.

The acid-wash process used chlorine and stones weakening the material. Why buy something designed to wear out faster? Shit is expensive enough as it is and not made as well as anymore already.
Blametheorangejuice@reddit
To be fair, I was looking for pants and stopped into American Eagle. Almost all of their jeans on the shelf now. One pre-ripped.
speedincuzihave2poop@reddit
and to be fair also, The pre-ripped style is starting to come to an end now as well. It's also a much cheaper process than acid washing.
VerdantPathfinder@reddit
I think I have an acid-washed denim jacket somewhere around here. I'm ready!
not-a-regular-mom@reddit
No!!! Some things are better left in the dustbin.
Trolkarlen@reddit
Because they quickly developed holes and fell apart.
