Beretta M1934 Suppressor

Foreword: I know nothing about suppressing a firearm, except that I want to do it.
Final word: I have a Beretta ‘34 in .380 w/ a spare barrel I’d like to suppress; as well as a lathe and the skill to use it.
Help me.

the 1934 is direct blowback. make a threaded barrel, attach silencer, and youre finished. if your spare barrel isnt threaded or extended youll have to make a thread adapter/extension and that will probably be the hardest part. are you planning on making your own can or buying one?

Unsure. Is the adapter necessary ?

you have to have a threaded barrel. if you dont have at least .500" of barrel extending past the slide, then yes, an adapter is absolutely necessary for there to be enough thread to mount the suppressor to.

My ignorance regarding suppressors does not extend to machinework

in that case, look up designs for 9mm silencers, file a form 1, make it, then attach it. since the 1934 is direct blow back there are no special considerations for cycling or anything.

Have the boss of the suppressor threaded to match the barrel threads, and just screw straight on ?

yup. the standard thread length for pistols is .400", which is why i say youll probably need to make an adapter. you want to use relatively fine threads and have enough of them exposed to ensure good alignment with the bore, or alternatively make the bore of your silencer conical to accommodate poor alignment. if you are going to try to mount directly to the barrel, youll probably want to design a mount that is muzzle indexing rather than face indexing, if youre going to fabricate everything yourself. since the 1934 wasnt designed with suppression in mind i doubt youll have a thick enough barrel wall to index on the shoulder of your threads.
