Safe Neighborhood for a new comer

I am new to Dallas and just moved here. I’ll be staying for about a month with my little kid, and I’m looking to rent an Airbnb or possibly an apartment if I find a good option.
Can anyone recommend safe neighborhoods that are family-friendly and close to stores like Whole Foods, Sprouts, or other good grocery stores?

Decent “safe” apartments at your budget, youre looking at studio apartments.
There are some apartments on Live Oak, Munger area that aren’t as expensive but i wouldn’t necessarily call them perfectly “safe” — but just expect no place to be perfect. Dallas is a huge place with a million people living in it. Car break ins, annoying rude neighbors, dog poop everywhere isn’t really unique but basically expected in a city. Adjust your expectations.

Lakewood/east Dallas offers this, but you didn't really specify a budget, so I have no idea if that's feasible for you.
If you want to do a month stay, check out furnishedfinder.com and see if there's a small house or ADU available in that area for a 30-day stay. It'll likely be cheaper than Airbnb, which has a lot of fees.

Thank you so much! I’ll definitely check out Lakewood/East Dallas and also look at Furnished Finder. I didn’t know about that site, and avoiding Airbnb fees would definitely help. My budget is around $1,000 for the month, but I’m a little flexible for the right place. I’m mainly looking for something safe and family-friendly. I really appreciate the recommendation!

Your budget for renting a house is way short if you want a safe, friendly neighborhood for a month.

So my best bet is airbnb?

Airbnb is expensive, not cheap. If you are only here for a month, you are going to be paying a premium. A $1200 a month apartment in Dallas is going to be hard to find, landlords don't like renting for one month and if they did, they would want a premium rent.
What I was trying to say is that your budget is unrealistic for Dallas. Best bet is find someone with a spare room for a month.
