$300k DGX B300 is actually a better deal than buying 24 RTX 6000s

Its FP4 performance is actually equivalent to 24 RTX 6000 Blackwells. Then with the tcgen05 support, that's further 20% speed up. Also, hardware compression engine will also speed up training.
Its 2304GB VRAM is also equivalent to 24 RTX 6000 Blackwells. It is good enough for you to run multiple sota Chinese models to work together to solve the world's pressing problems. You can also finetune them as much as you want which you can't do with 24 6000s.
It is a turnkey solution with CPU and motherboard. Overall it is a better deal than buying 24 RTX 6000 Blackwells and put them in multiple boxes.
What do you think?
tmvr@reddit
Yeah, but the DGX B300 is just a big box, whereas if you get a bunch of 6000 pro cards, you and your homies can fan out a few of them in your hands and pose with them like top Gs for social media clout and the admiration of the opposite sex. That surely counters some perceived value of that B300!

J'y penserai la prochaine fois que j'achèterai 24 RTX 6000, merci pour le conseil! 👍

Almost ordered 24 RTX 6000s but then saw your post and decided to order DGX B300 instead.
Thank you for you service, sir!
Daemonix00@reddit
Who gave you a quote for a B300 that was 300k USD? (Honest Q!)
FoxiPanda@reddit
Yeah this is not a real price in today's market.
Party-Special-5177@reddit
Came here to ask this. I was quoted $300k for a USED 8xH200
I never asked but expect the b200s are pushing a half million or more.
Daemonix00@reddit
Yes… even 300K for a H200 is probably a gift at the moment :)
-dysangel-@reddit
It's probably a slop post. It's completely bonkers
Qwen3_6_27b_UD_Q4XL@reddit
That's my downpayment for my house.
fractalcrust@reddit
you cant rent your house out on vastai
seamonn@reddit
not with that attitude.
baseketball@reddit
$1.5M house? You can probably afford this.
Qwen3_6_27b_UD_Q4XL@reddit
Mortgage is killing us.
seamonn@reddit
Have you tried defaulting?
It worked pretty well in 2008 from what I am hearing.
Kyuiki@reddit
That feeling when this thing dies one day outside of warranty.
HumanDrone8721@reddit
The houses are repairable and the don't die so easy.
NetTechMan@reddit
Oh! Well that settles it then! And here I was about to buy 24 RTX 6000’s when I could’ve just bought $300K DGX B300
CalligrapherFar7833@reddit
Dude literally this guy solved all my problems
-dysangel-@reddit
I was in a similar boat.. I was considering buying 333 pairs of roller skates to get to work, but I realised a car might work better
snowieslilpikachu69@reddit
i mean technically if you can get it rented for 7 dollars an hour for like 9 months youll be in profit
omidmatin@reddit
Your math is way off, but I get what you mean! ;)
snowieslilpikachu69@reddit
oh i meant 7 dollars a month for each b300 gpu in the rack so 56 dollars? could be lower not exactly sure what they charge
Cergorach@reddit
24x RTX Pro 6000 = \~$225k
It also has \~10% more VRAM
A bigger issue is that it takes up WAY more space, and more power due to the hardware overhead.
CalligrapherFar7833@reddit
More space - 12u , more power depends if you get max-q not that much
DeltaSqueezer@reddit
Oh, in that case I'll take two of them!
No-Refrigerator-1672@reddit
I think that for $300k I'd rarher buy a house, a fancy car, then buy another hpuse to rent out and gain passive income, and, finally, put the rest in savings.
*I'm European and yes, in my country it's enough to buy multiple houses.
autisticit@reddit
In which country ?
$300k is about 255k €...
yoomiii@reddit
maybe in your part of Europe, but in the Netherlands 300k is 100k under median house price..
autisticit@reddit
How much money do you have to be able to think about things like that.
Ok_Warning2146@reddit (OP)
Well, dreaming costs you nothing. 😉
