Can somebody help me with some questions?

Hi everyone, I got my driving licence a while ago and although I’ve never been into cars now I’m starting to want to learn some things and I was hoping that somebody could solve some of my questions.
I have a hyundai i20 klass with 100cv and I’ve been wanting to learn how to launch it and do some basic drifting (I’m aware that I’m vert limited here). What I heard about the launching is that you gotta rev it to the point where your tires are at the limit of their traction and then let go the clutch quite fast, but not dumping it or lifting it too slow because either way you burn it. Same more or less with a clutch kick for drifting.
My questions were basically these: is all i’ve said right? how bad is this for the car even if you do it right? Is dumping the clutch really that bad (because i’ve seen it in a lot of launching tutorials)? Can my car even drift a little? Is it better to drift with the handbrake?

Accelerating as fast as possible from a stand still doesn’t involve spinning tires, but as you said just before the tires slip is perfect for fast acceleration.
Dumping the clutch isn’t great, but what’s even worse is having a high rpm and slowly letting the clutch go because it‘s gonna start to smoke and burn up the clutch. Trial and error will get you there. Driving like that will always have a lot of wear and tear on parts like the clutch, tires, transmission etc but as long as you don’t do it every day it’s not that destructive.
You will never truly drift in this car because you got a front wheel drive car, all you can do is pull the handbrake while turning and slide a bit, that’s called power sliding and is definitely not considered proper drifting but still fun
Most of what you said is correct, but knowledge is not enough, what you need is experience, so go somewhere safe and try it out

Thank you so much for explaining bro. And I definitely wasn't planning on driving like this regularly I just wanted to know these thing for occasional fun with friends. Also I already knew that I couldn't drift in the true sense of the word but i didn't know what term to use. So the using the handbrake to slide isn't very bad for the car?

Here’s what can happen in theory with power sliding:
Tires wear
Brake shoes wear
Habdbrake cable wears
Suspension bushings wear
Here’s what probably will happen in reality:
Nothing
Brake shoes get cleaned a bit
Handbrake cable doesn’t rust as quickly
You’ll have fun
Your car isn’t very heavy or complicated, so just enjoy it, don’t crash and have fun

Alright bro thank you so much

Drifting is an expensive motorsport, it costs a lot in wear of many vital parts, and you need rwd.
Practice in launch is just like a regular launch except finding the sweet spot for maximum power and grip for that car.

You're trying to drift your 100 HP FWD Hyundai i20?
You should stop or you will cost yourself thousands in repairs.

I am not trying to yet, that's why im asking where are the limits of it. Also i didn't mean drifting like a pro. I meant like a little slide in a curve. And what about the launch?
bobqzzi@reddit
You will quickly destroy your clutch.
You are not drifting around curves in that car without the e brake
