Are high heels popular among American women? Do you personally wear them?

Depends on where you live. I'm very rural and hardly see anyone wear them. When I lived in a far more populated state, definitely saw them more often. I'm 47 and haven't worn them in YEARS due to a rolled ankle. Kinda sad because sometimes they just make the outfit, but eh...
Thedollysmama@reddit
Maybe at the Indian casino on free music nights you’ll see some heels but on the daily? Nah.
Apprehensive_Emu7973@reddit
I live in the pacific northwest and I never see them. Even though I live in a city you are more likely to see girls wearing tevas at a club than high heels.
kae0603@reddit
Rarely wear them.
macoafi@reddit
I only wear them when I dance tango.
eternal_casserole@reddit
I can't remember the last time I wore high heels. I can't remember the last time I even owned a pair of high heels. Probably at least a decade.
Available-Ad6250@reddit
I find it difficult to find a men’s 8.5 wide high heel shoe, so I wear daisy’s and get a pretty good line that way. Or a little cheeky skirt with some strapped platforms since those are easier to find.
offplanetjanet@reddit
Barefoot is preferred.
Sco_Queen@reddit
I'm 29, never even tried a high heel on. Just not for me. I love a boot with a heel on it though.
MamaLlama629@reddit
I did when I was younger and skinnier. Now I mostly just wear wedges and for special occasions.
Lurkalope@reddit
At formal events they are fairly standard. For things like clubbing or going to a fancy restaurant, they are very common. For everyday wear they are uncommon, at least where I live.
I only wear them on nice occasions and at most a 3 inch heel, either block or wedge. I don't own any pumps or stilettos.
_gooder@reddit
They're very popular in American media, lol. I shudder to think of the foot problems actresses will have as they age.
I can't wear them all day, but I will wear them out to dinner.
CaptMcPlatypus@reddit
My mid-teen daughter has recently taken an interest in wearing them. She's not even 5 feet tall, so I think she likes the elevation as well as the association with elegance. We have had talks about why she can't wear them to school (not practical for walking in the halls, and a potential liability if she has to evacuate quickly). I think most American women do the math on how much and what kind of walking or standing they have to do, plus how formal the event is. I have been to weddings where some ladies wore heels for the ceremony (lots of sitting), but brought flats for the reception (dancing).
FriendEducational250@reddit
I'm a millennial who came of age in the late aughts/2010s and adore high heels. I love them in all of their iterations: stilettos, block heels, wedges, heeled boots, etc. I don't find heels uncomfortable or difficult to walk in, but I've been wearing them since around 15 and I'm 36 now. My husband is about 5 inches taller than I am, so no issues there either 😂
I'm the only one in my friend group who regularly wears heels, though. My girlfriends still look awesome in their sneakers and flats!
tcrhs@reddit
The only time I wear high heels is for a job interview or a funeral.
17Girl4Life@reddit
I wear them occasionally. They aren’t as popular now as they were a few years ago, but I like them. I can walk miles in heels and it doesn’t bother me.
evaj95@reddit
Most of the time I'm not wearing stilettos to work. I wear a lot of wedges, and kitten heels though.
WatermelonMachete43@reddit
I do wear them because I work in a business-formal attire office. Skirt suits, pant suits, high heels. I like them, but will only buy ones that are relatively comfortable. I am behind my desk a lot and could take them off there if they became uncomfortable fir whatever reason.
Traditional-Ad-8737@reddit
No, not personally. I’m in the medical field, work long shifts, and wear scrubs anyway. Outside of work, also no. I remember reading once that heels will force your body into an abnormal posture/position and shifts the your weight or center of gravity. No way. I think they mostly worn by people at formal events, or people who want to be fashionable who care too much about what other people think.
SHAsyhl@reddit
I wear heels about once a week, but they are NOT high.
BeneficialShame8408@reddit
I think it depends on where you are. I don't see a lot of high heels in my city or workplace.
I did just buy a pair of platform heels, though, because they're cute and I want to tower over my users lmao
Ficsit-Incorporated@reddit
For formal events they’re very common. Weddings, funerals, etc. In professional white collar environments they’re also pretty common. But if someone is just going out to see a movie, shop, or have a casual meal they’re pretty uncommon.
notadamnprincess@reddit
Am a lawyer. Unless the words “ladies and gentlemen of the jury” are coming out of my mouth that day, I’m not wearing heels. Gave that up in my late 20s (more than 15 years ago).
Final-Elderberry9162@reddit
Years ago I worked for a PR company where if we saw a coworker in a suit and heels we knew they were seeing a client. Otherwise, literally never.
alwaysboopthesnoot@reddit
Not when walking around my town, to and from the train station, on the harborfront boardwalk or on cobblestones, Belgian block or bricks. not on sand or dirt paths or rail trails we use to cut across or through town, or at the beach. Too much of a tripping or ankle-turning hazard and too exhausting. Most wear flats, low wedges, some kind of sandal or sports shoes. In the city. Maybe, sometimes.
yellowrose04@reddit
Not everyday but special occasions.
min_mus@reddit
I wear heels for formal occasions, but usually only kitten heels or court-style shoes (say, 3 to 5 cm tall). Otherwise, I'm in loafers or sneakers.
Sloth_grl@reddit
Never if i can avoid it. I wear low heels for weddings and other special events.
Ok-Equivalent8260@reddit
I love them
Tacoshortage@reddit
Anytime my wife dresses up, she puts on a pair of high-heels. All of her friends do the same thing. So yes pretty common.
I don't personally wear them.
qu33nof5pad35@reddit
I own a couple of pairs. And yes.
salmonstreetciderco@reddit
i live in the pacific northwest where fashion is much more ... comfort oriented? than in other parts of the country. i own two pairs of high heels that i can wear to a funeral, a wedding, a baptism, a fancy new year's eve party maybe? an art gallery opening? but those are basically the only situations in which i would wear them. some very elderly women who are very proper always wear them, and i think women in the south might be more likely to wear them frequently, or in very fashionable places like new york. but here they are really pretty impractical and unpopular
exceptionallyprosaic@reddit
My mother always wore high heels. She didn't even own a single pair of sneakers. The flattest show she would wear, would be a wedge.
I can't walk in heels, so I mostly wear yeezy slides, driving shoes or sneakers.
tinyrubberduckies@reddit
Not around where I live and I will probably never again wear a pair. They are truly uncomfortable and I would wear any other form of footwear.
Judgy-Introvert@reddit
Nope. Wore them once. Never again. I’m a sneaker gal so they just aren’t for me. To be honest, I rarely ever see women wear them anymore.
ohheykiki@reddit
I only wear them for special occasions and church.
BoopleSnoot921@reddit
I wear them almost everyday.
wormbreath@reddit
I don’t own any. I don’t wear them. And I don’t see them often. But also I don’t live somewhere they would be seen often.
noseleaptilbklyn@reddit
I need shoes I can run in.
Ms-Metal@reddit
I'm 5'1 so I love them! Always out. Unfortunately my body no longer loves them so I can't wear them anymore. I wasn't pretty much every day throughout my 20s and much of my 30s. That was back in the '80s when it was super common for everyone to wear high heels although many of us walk to work and sneakers and then changed into heels at work. And the 70s I wore platforms, which one much easier to walk in, but I was a teen and in my 20s so I didn't care about comfort at that time. Then in my late 30s, offices started becoming very very relaxed for everyday wear. Not just casual fridays. I also started traveling for a living, every week for a decade so sneakers it was. Over the next 20 years or so, I got so used to sneakers that now when my 60s, I can't wear heels anymore. Literally think I would break an ankle if I tried. But back in my 20s, I was more comfortable and heels than I was barefoot and I literally walked all over Minneapolis, often for miles a day through the skyways and without ever taking my heels off. I sure miss those days! I literally just had a wedding the other day and I have a crisis over what shoes to wear because I have not worn anything but sneakers for years. I finally settled on a fancy pair of Crocs. Yes we have fancy crocs. They're low heels so they're still comfortable. I do have a lot of foot problems now but I think it's more about my flat feet than it is from wearing heels all those years.
Apprehensive-Pop-201@reddit
Never. Never again.
tangledbysnow@reddit
Not here. Maybe at formal events (I.e. funerals, weddings, professional work attire required, etc) types of things but everyday or outside of those? Not a chance. Myself I only own two pairs and tossed everything else - I only kept those two because they are very pretty and one was the shoes I wore at my wedding.
FireHammer09@reddit
They are very popular among women especially when they dress up or go to a club.
I do not personally wear them because I'm a man.
grogu989@reddit
I feel like heels used to be super popular in the club/ bar scene for like millenials and older, but Gen Z is out here partying in Nikes. I dont hate it, honestly. Let the girls be comfy.
noseleaptilbklyn@reddit
Agree!!!
Harmony_w@reddit
I was in an Evangelical cult that required women to wear them so I refuse to ever do so anymore.
SageWildhart@reddit
I’m so curious what group this is. Never heard of that. What justification or scripture is cited?
Harmony_w@reddit
It's a megachurch in Tampa with over 40 affiliates on the US and a bunch overseas pastored by graduates/loyalists who have attended the "Bible Institute." It's called The River at Tampa Bay and is pastored by Rodney Howard Browne. He's got quite the wiki.
I don't care to remember which bullshit scripture they cherry picked out of context for that particular rule. It always boils down to misogyny.
Heavy_Front_3712@reddit
So I looked him up and that is wild....I grew up in a Pentecostal church and it was the don't cut your hair, don't wear makeup or wear pants type. Lots of misogyny in flavor of Christianity. Lots of rules for women, a lot less for men.
Harmony_w@reddit
I went to Pentecostal churches like that when I was young. At The River it's all about appearing rich and successful because they teach the Prosperity Gospel. Women had to have done hair and makeup with jewelry, "nice" clothes and a long, loose skirt that goes below the knees (including the slit) and heels.
Appearances are all that matter, the projection of success and being "favored by God."
madqueen100@reddit
I wore them and even walked in them when I was 18 or 19 — in that time and place it was a badge of adulthood. My best friends and I put on our new heels for the high school senior prom, for the first time, but had to remove them in order to dance without falling over. I stopped wearing them soon after, and now I’m old and have a closet full of sneakers and Birkenstocks. Where I live, I almost never see anyone wearing heels, only to go to formal events and even then it’s rare.
MarieDarcy97@reddit
I wear them fairly often
PuzzledKumquat@reddit
They seem to be worn less and less, especially as workplaces have become lax in their dress codes. Personally, I've never worn them because they're so uncomfortable and because I think they make the wearer look ridiculous. Humans weren't meant to tiptoe everywhere.
Successful_Mall476@reddit
I like them but I don’t wear them since my husband is an inch and a half taller than me.
Maiace124@reddit
I don't like to wear them, but my sister does. Depends on the person.
AliMcGraw@reddit
I cannot stress enough how much Covid killed things like high heels, make-up, and ties.
Everybody realized we could work in comfortable pants without having to get all dressed up, and just nobody gets dressed up anymore.
I work with lawyers and everybody used to have a dozen suits, and now most people have just one that they wear for court, and otherwise they were comfortable pants and nice shirts.
Shop-S-Marts@reddit
I'm a man, so I don't wear them. I haven't seen real high heels since the 90s, but in sure they're still around somewhere. The place I buy my work boots at still sells them
aftercloudia@reddit
won't catch me in heels. i like the way my feet look, i'm not cramming them into those torture devices xD
animepuppyluvr@reddit
I wear them on special outings, like Christmas dinner with the family. Otherwise I wear sneakers to work and flip-flops everywhere else I can.
LABELyourPHOTOS@reddit
I'm in New England and I just saw some video on here of some lady coming home and she had high heels. I felt like I time traveled to 2018.
I rarely see high heels and seeing it felt like seeing someone smoke.
It felt like bankers and lawyers and strippers were wearing them in 2010s then came COVID and it shifted even more away from them.
revengeappendage@reddit
I have some pretty serious back problems. There’s no way I could wear heels ever lol.
DragonScrivner@reddit
Generally I don’t— I live in a city and walk a lot/take public transit. It’s easier to wear shoes built for walking.
People do wear heels though, it really depends on how comfortable you want to be
RaineMist@reddit
High heels are still popular and if you can wear them all the time, great. If you wear them on occasion, great. If you don't, great.
I personally could never really wear high heels much due to my disability but if I didn't have it, I would buy so many.
SnooBananas7203@reddit
I wore heels up until the pandemic when I switched to flats and sneakers. I wore heels a couple of weeks ago. My poor feet and toes. I'm out of practice for heels.
bloopidupe@reddit
They use to be more popular. I use to wear them all the time.
halfhalfling@reddit
I wear them to weddings and funerals. My grandmother wore them every Sunday to church. That’s about it.
Southern_Blue@reddit
I believe the are not as popular as they once were. People are prioritizing comfort and practicality over looks, although to be honest I never thought they looked all that good.
JumpingJacks1234@reddit
You see them a lot on store shelves but you don’t see them much on people day-to-day. I think people are buying them for special occasions.
ExternalTelevision75@reddit
They’re becoming quite unpopular, though some women still wear them. I personally don’t wear them because I’m already pretty tall, 6ft, and I prefer comfortable shoes
Crafty-Shape2743@reddit
Funny story time…
Beginning in high school, I wore high heels every day. I also wore really long, wide bell bottoms. So you never really saw the shoes. Without shoes, I was 5’4. With high heels, I was closer to 5’7.
Flip forward 3 decades, two blown vertebrae in my back and I became a convert to sensible low heeled shoes.
That year, I travelled thousands of miles and spent a lot of money to attend my 30th high school reunion. I hadn’t seen any of the people I had gone to school with for close to 25 years.
Pretty much every conversation I had with people started with I remember you as being taller.
RedReaper666YT@reddit
Literally the only time I wear heels is when I'm having "fun" with my husband. They're called fuck me pumps for a reason
ilp456@reddit
Styles have gotten more casual and sneakers have gotten stylish and are no longer just for the gym or long walks.
I wore heels in my 20s and 30s both for work and play. Now I’m in my 50s and only wear them occasionally. I’ve spent enough years with unhappy feet and there are so many more stylish choices without heels than there were years ago.
Beneficial-Cow-2544@reddit
This. I wore them everyday until the pandemic. Now its comfy shoes for life! Also age 48 and my friends are all there too.
But I never see young people in heels anymore. Its definitely not 'in' right now.
holymacaroley@reddit
Some wear them for special occasions or going out. A few might wear them to work but most do not. I never wear them. Torture devices.
Deep-Promotion-2293@reddit
I don't know if they're popular with younger women, they are NOT popular with me. 2 seriously busted up ankles, one busted up knee and a jacked up back assures me that I will never wear anything remotely resembling heels ever again.
MollyOMalley99@reddit
Not as popular as they used to be, I think.
I almost never wear them, as I had bone surgery on one of my feet when I was 28 and took that as my excuse to choose comfort over style for the rest of my life. Occasionally I'll wear heels (I still own two pairs: one black, one silver) to a formal occasion, but I always bring a pair of flats to change into.
Birdywoman4@reddit
I don’t wear them. Don’t consider them comfortable and I had painful blisters from the time I was going to school every time I’d get a new pair of shoes for school. So I wasn’t interested in getting fancy dress shoes.
sparklestronaut@reddit
It depends on where you are, and age to some degree. In general in casual settings (running errands etc) you won’t see them, but I live in a relatively big, not walkable city (so heavily reliant on cars), and the vast majority of women when going anywhere that calls for dressing up are wearing heels.
I do because I feel underdressed around here without them, and because some shoe companies are finally making cute heels that are actually comfortable for this clumsy 40 year old. In my 20s I wore them all the time, comfort didn’t even cross my mind.
Neb-Nose@reddit
No, I never wear them. I’m a 6-3 dude. That would be very uncomfortable and require more balance than I possess.
Bluemonogi@reddit
Some people like them. I don’t like them nor do I wear them.
FivebyFive@reddit
I used to wear them daily.
But 4 (unrelated) ankle sprains later and they hurt too much.
Did just finish another round of PT though and maybe soon! I have so many pretty shoes I can't wear!
Shoddy-Secretary-712@reddit
I don't pay that much attention to what other people wear.
But I have a limp and high heels make it more prominent, so I don't wear them.
turtlescanfly7@reddit
What would you consider high heels? I’m an attorney and I wear a 1-2 inch block heel about 3 times a week but I’ve never worn stilletos or anything. I tried once in my 20s and it was much too difficult to walk. I’d rather wear wedges or low heels
Urfubar12@reddit
I used to wear them all the time but I’m 5’10 and really don’t need them. Also they hurt and give you tons of other issues. I’m all for comfort and flats..
simplyexistingnow@reddit
I think they used to be a lot more popular about 15 years ago. They still are a popular and a lot of people have at least one pair of heels in their closet but that doesn't mean they ever wear them anymore. But I also feel like the quality of a lot of shoes especially high heels.
charlies-ghost@reddit
I can't stand heels and won't wear them. Croc flops for life.
Meowmeowmeow31@reddit
I’m sure there are regional and cultural differences for this, but in my old college town, I’ve noticed that young women now are less likely to wear high heels when going out compared to 10 years ago. Good for them honestly.
I don’t wear them. I’m tall anyway and they’re not comfortable.
ChickenNugs4Hugs@reddit
I wear them if I’m dressing up.
Impossible_Kick616@reddit
I wore 2 inch heels most of my career, nothing ridiculous. I can no longer tolerate any heels due to a medication that caused tendon and joint issues even after going off the medication. Now I look longingly at the leopard print pumps in my closet and wish our relationship could have lasted.
JulieofTheJulies@reddit
At this point my high heels have to be platforms and can’t be spike heels.
Burden-of-Society@reddit
High heels? I think there an insult to women.
Classic_Cauliflower4@reddit
I used to wear sky-high heels all the time. But when I had kids, I had to stop. Not because of me, but because my children will randomly hang on me, and I was at risk of falling. If you’re already a little unsteady, a sudden addition of 40lbs to one side or the other is likely to take you down.
I still wear heels occasionally, but now they’re 2” block heels that I could move furniture in.
timeonmyhandz@reddit
Hi to prefer to hold them upside down with the heels pointing toward the ceiling right next to my ears!
Of course this is the male point of view..
littlecloudyskye@reddit
Heels were more popular in the aughts. Now comfort is in and you rarely see them except for dressy occasions like weddings and such.
Justmakethemoney@reddit
I don't now.
When I was younger, I went through a phase where I was wearing 1940s and 50's vintage a lot. I didn't look "right" without heels. I was wearing 4 inch heels daily.
mdw2379@reddit
Maybe in big cities they do, but in middle to small sized towns hardly anyone wears heels.
Imanking9091@reddit
most women that wear them for special occasions or when they go out but almost every woman I know also will have a change of shoes for the moment they leave and often for the ride there
cameronpark89@reddit
i don’t even own any
Dr_mombie@reddit
If I need or want to wear heels, I wear kitten heels. My platform stilettos got thrown out ages ago.
LankyNefariousness12@reddit
I used to wear them a lot on special occasions then I grew a foot in one summer and didn't bother to re-learn now to walk in them. I was 13 iirc and I was very worried about breaking an ankle. I know a few women that wear them a lot but most of my friends don't bother. You can wear nice flats and your feet won't hurt.
Gallahadion@reddit
I don't wear them; they seem too impractical to me.
Consistent_Damage885@reddit
Never, they suck
Commercial_Picture28@reddit
I feel like most American women have at least one pair of heels but I'd say most don't wear them. I see hundreds of women a day at work.
ketomachine@reddit

My running joke used to be that high heels were invented by the man whose wife invented the necktie. I mean who took a strip of cloth, tied it around their neck tightly, and called it a fashion statement?!
Aggressive_FIamingo@reddit
Yes, I see them frequently. I can't wear stilettos or anything (I've tried, it never goes well), but I do love boots with chunky heels.
slothdonki@reddit
Not as much.
And yeah, I’ll wear them for a little bit when I get the chance but I’m a dude and just overly confident about how good I think I am at walking and running in them.
TigerPaw317@reddit
If you're talking specifically about pumps/stilettos, I only wear them for formal occasions, but if you're asking about any heeled shoe, one of my regular pairs is a 2" heeled pair of black boots. I'm 5'1" and I'm a supervisor, so I want the extra inches at work.
MadMadamMimsy@reddit
Yes. I see then all the time on young women.
No. I'm old
moonwillow60606@reddit
Yup. The pandemic + a sprained ankle ruined my ability to wear high heels. But I still see them everywhere and I miss being able to wear them
vashtachordata@reddit
Same. I wore heels a lot in my partying days. I’m tall and it was a good way to weed out insecure douchebags.
I don’t even own a pair of heels at this point. The closest I’ve got is some wedge sandals
Iwoulddiefcftbatk@reddit
My back hurts too much and I’m past the age of letting my feet bleed in order to wear cute shoes. Every now and then I’ll consider it but remember that a broken ankle costs a lot to fix with my insurance.
beckstermcw@reddit
Got old, stopped wearing them, and now it feels impossible when I do.
Sorry_Im_Trying@reddit
I used to wear them all the time. Then I got pregnant and my feet changed. I couldn't wear them in the third trimester, and afterwards my feet never really went back to normal.
I try to wear them, I love wearing them, but they hurt so much now, all the time, and I don't even wear as high of heels as I used to.
It could be that I'm just not used to them anymore, but the discomfort isn't worth it to me either.
MartyPhelps@reddit
Not popular enough. French and Italian women wear them all the walking on cobblestone streets and look great.
HottestestestMess@reddit
I rarely see them and when I do it’s at a very formal event.
I have pretty wobbly ankles, so I haven’t subjected myself that torture for about 25 years.
welpguessimonreddit@reddit
Not anymore. Millenials wore them EVERYWHERE ten years ago. Typically now, I actually see older women more than the youths wearing them. Sneakers and ballet flats are the go to for gen z
CommitteeofMountains@reddit
I think they're less required here than some places, kind of like thigh-high boots compared to Russians. Wedge heels seem to take over right around now each year.
whocanpickone@reddit
Some women enjoy wearing them and do so regularly. Some wear them just for fancy or “dress up” events. Some women don’t wear them or stopped wearing them.
I don’t wear them anymore, I prefer a flat or sneaker.
AbiWil1996@reddit
I only wear them for special occasions honestly.
Venjy@reddit
Yeah this me too, I have some heeled boots that I LOVE and make feel fabulous, but they are hell on my feet lol. I wear mostly flats/sneakers/sandals most of the time.
evaluna1968@reddit

Kali-of-Amino@reddit
Not since the 90s.
MinimumPosition979@reddit
I never wear them. I think they are bad for your feet and I am already tall so it seems unnecessary.
I am 40 and it seems like they aren't as popular as when I was a kid, at least for daily wear, but they are not unusual. I would think most women have at least one pair.
Ilovethe90sforreal@reddit

Before we switched to work from home, I'd have to hear several of my co-workers constantly complain about how much their feet hurt. They were wearing ridiculously high heels at the office. I asked why they didn't just wear something comfortable, since they knew those kinds of shoes would hurt their feet.
Almost to a person, the response was, "because they're cute".
Aggravating_Total921@reddit

MoonIsMadeOfCheese@reddit
I’ve been wearing heels consistently since I was in middle school and still wear them more than most people. I wear stilettos, etc. only for special occasions or nice dinners out now, but wedges or comfortable pumps are still something I wear most of the time for work, casual nights out, etc.

nemc222@reddit
Love them and where them whenever possible. ( In my 60s)
ewlyn@reddit
Women wear them. I think where one lives probably comes into play regarding how common it is to see people in them.
I live in an area with a lot of uneven sidewalks and cobblestones and I do not often see people walking around in them but definitely see them in offices and at events. Most of the women I know who favor them change into them when they get to work and wear some sort of comfortable, flat shoe on their commute.
Personally, I do not wear them.
jessper17@reddit
I wouldn’t say they’re necessarily popular but people wear them. I do not. They’re spectacularly uncomfortable in my experience.
eirinne@reddit
They are tools of the oppressor.
Digital_Punk@reddit
I’d say heeled boots are far more common than pumps these days.
Deolater@reddit
They're definitely popular. My vague impression is that they're not as popular in real life as they are in movies though.
My wife doesn't wear them very much, I'm not sure how much of that is personal style and how much is practical consideration.
tenehemia@reddit
Yes, and yes.
WhosThereDracula@reddit
"High heels" can describe so many types of shoes some of which are more ostentatious/for the club and some which are reasonable work wear.
I live in Los Angeles, I'm in my mid-30s, and I currently do not own a pair of shoes I'd consider high heels. For a fancy occasion I'd probably wear a cute loafer or mary jane or creeper. In my twenties I had a few pairs of "going out" heels but they were four-six inch heels at most and had a strong platform.
Upstairs_Highlight25@reddit
They are popular for dressing up for formal events, dates, and club/bar but aren’t popular for daily wear.
Maleficent_Button_58@reddit
Yes, they're popular.
No, I don't wear them. I prefer shoes that let my feet be shaped the way they're supposed to be 😅
oswin13@reddit
I don't see them nearly as often since covid.
FionaTheFierce@reddit
Day to day most women do not wear them. There are certain settings where they are worn more often. There are some women who like them and wear them frequently, and women who find them uncomfortable and never wear them. They are largely impractical for anyone who spends a lot of time on their feet or walking.
E.g. if you go to the grocery store on the weekend, which is full of people, it is unlikely that you will see anyone wearing high heels. If you go to a night club on the weekend a good percentage of women will be wearing high heels.

I can't walk in high heels... I have weak ankles. 💀

Unless I'm going to a formal event, I personally don't. I'd like to wear them more often but I'm already kind of tall and I don't like towering over people lol

Yes, they’re popular. And yes, I wear them.

Just an observation of mine, but it seems that younger generations barely wear them. Women my age (35) and younger seem to prefer flats over heels.

Lol no. I prefer comfort. I don't have a car and walk everywhere.
