This or the one after might have been the episode I stopped watching TWD, lmao.
The last thing I remember is a dude got killed by a tiger. Not a Tiger tank. A fucking tiger. TWD got wild during the Negan arc.
glenn was the emotional and moral heart of the team...from the first time rick meets him in atlanta...he reminded me of the kid from indiana jones. Also him and maggie having a kid was like the one bright spot in an otherwise savage and brutal world. So...yeah, losing glenn was an immediate "i'm over this" for me.
I played Counter-Strike back in the day too, but my interest in guns isn't really nostalgia based either. Most of the guns that game helped to popularize are antiquated or their moment has otherwise passed.
P90, MP5, USP45, P226, FAMAS, etc.
Agree. Im thankful I got to live through the golden age of gaming. 007 Goldeneye, CS 1.6. Heck even Modernwarfare II was gold. No micro transactions. Just your level and your loadout and a good internet connection and you were set.
I do find myself wanting the Chevron reticle on my next optic due to COD MW II
Yup. Actively - there’s still some courses teaching people how to use each of these guns.
Wish there was a dedicated one near me to teach me to put my USP to best use
It's still largely collector/nostalgia driven. I doubt the platform still sees any meaningful amount of service use these days.
It's cosplaying '90s special forces where the actual units have all moved on to other weapons.
I've got the stainless deagle. Had a fiveseven, but it just didn't scratch the itch for me. The swiss SG series would be amazing but they cost a fortune. Everyone has an AK and AR, and nobody has a FAMAS.
I have been eyeing a steyr scout for a while, though.
I’ve got one that started life as a Chinese para that got captured in Nam.
Bubba decided to replace the wood with some plastic shit and it’s painful to shoot now. Damn LOP is somethin like 22inches.
Then they removed the bayonet due to some bullshit the ATF started spouting (I don’t care that it’s illegal, I’ll use a Yugo mag and Yugo bayonet on my AK if I want)
99% of the AK programs. They stopped being cool after the 74. Beyond that, you get the same thing, but it’s 5.45, or the same thing, but we changed the tiniest thing that really doesn’t matter.
Don’t get me wrong. I like the AK, but after the AK-74, it’s just boring. (Ah yes, we’ve added more plastic now, or now it’s 3 round burst instead of just semi/auto, or even better, not we have a rail on the absolutely unstable dust cover for your optics to rattle around on.
And yes, by after the 74, I mean the AK 100 series, 200 series, and AK-12. The 74M has its moments of the same stupidity as the 100 series, but I’ll give it a pass for now.
And my issue isn’t that they keep refining the design, my issue is the refinements are just plain stupid.(talking about the dust cover rail, then again, what do you expect from a country where the majority of the population doesn’t have running water or indoor toilets.)
The AK has done its time. It’s time to lay it to rest, and come up with an idea that isn’t just another AK (an impossible task for the russians, I know.)
There are so many better options than the AUG. The AUG has out performed the M16 and M4 in every trial, it was using features in the late 70s that the military is just barely trying to implement with the M4 in the last 15 years now. When most people bitch about the trigger pull and awkward reloads, they likely don't have any experience with it. Trigger pull isn't even as bad as a milspec M4. Reloads are easy. You can swap barrels quickly which can even aid in quickly correcting complicated malfunctions. You can quickly go from 5.56 to a suppressed 300 blk in 8 seconds. They're accurate for a service rifle. Mags work well. They perform better in cold weather than an M4. There is enough rail space for attachments now. It can be swapped over to left hand operation. It's not the best but, it is also a rifle from 1977. People just hate bullpups. The Army had looked at replacing M16A1 with it but ultimately didn't just because they didn't want to retrain soldiers.
Glocks. All of them. I cannot stand Glocks. The grip angle doesn’t bother me, the bare bones design is great if you ask me, can’t deny the dead on reliability of them either and let’s not even get going on the vast aftermarket support. I have zero logical reason for hating them. But I do. I honestly don’t think I’d take one even for free, I’d rather shoot almost anything else.
They're fantastic indoors, hoping in and out of vehicles and are reasonably accurate. But when you go from that to an M4 and realise that changing mags, dealing with stoppages can all be done while your eyes are forward, you realise how impractical they actually are.
as someone else pointed out it looks way too much like a paintball gun, i hate the trigger guard situation, and as youve said, bullpup. no REAL reason, i just hate the look of its face
I was set on getting a Tavor X95 until I picked one up in the store. Everything about it felt wrong, and not because it's a bullpup. I have several others, but something about the Tavor just didn't work for me at all.
Love my AUG though, so eat dirt.
Id buy one if they were not like 4500 fucking $ and if this is rhe one that shoots the fury round id buy it rhe ammo wasn't like 1000$ for 400 rounds lol
I am not a fan of the CZ 75. People mention how the grip fits there hand, but the slide is an ergonomic disaster.
I also *hate* the AR15 charging handle. Its so unnecessarily flimsy and in the way, and no amount of personal anecdotes can convince me otherwise.
One guy had this in the stall next to me and it was so god damn loud and just annoying to look at that I let my mk18 ring with no suppressor next to him
The AUG is one i hate in COD games. I shot one before black ops (I think) was released. I remember being so pumped because shooting my uncles at the range was such a great experiance and when I looked up the weapons list it showed the AUG. I couldn't wait to buy the game and constantly looked up videos of people shooting full auto. Then I bought the game, unlocked the AUG, and was instantly dissapointed to find out it was 3 round burst.
I said the same till I got my own.
For reference I used one in the army. Fucking hated the thing.
Someone gave me one when I got medically retired, and I couldn’t stand it for a bit. Ended up bored one afternoon and brought it to the range. I immediately felt the difference.
The 92 has the problem of people using it as anything except a sidearm, then getting mad when their improvised hammer doesn’t work as well anymore. And 99% of the ones in US Army use need to be serviced by a factory level tech.
I actually do have a reason that I don't like it, and that's mainly ergonomics. The grip is a bit fat for me. I much prefer Walther or Glock. But yes, my beef with this weapon started during my first enlistment 22 years ago when I learned what a locking block is. 😂 I know it's a perfectly serviceable weapon or wouldn't be so popular. There's so much variety, so easily available, these days that I can afford to be picky, though.

I love mine I don’t care I love my green California aberration
my first pistol was an sig USA p226 combat. After 300 rds the roll pin on the slide falls out. I had a chance to compare my American 226 to a German made p226. The quality gap is huge.
then we got p320 self discharge incidents..
SIG USA now have most their parts made in India which leads to a huge quality drop. I would trust them at all.
Not a weapon but a cartridge. 6 ARC. I don't hate it for any of its drawbacks, they can be worked around with enough money. I hate it because it's standing in the way of 6mm Max, a cartridge that does everything the 6 ARC can do and more.
The Kriss Vector.
It's really just a fancy direct blowback that is front heavy and has terrible ergonomics. I feel lied to by every video game shooter in existence
Idk I love mine. Would love em even more if you didn't have to SBR em to get the correct ergos. Even as a semi gun it's just a blast to take out to the range. Very enjoyable in 9mm
what are you, some European prince who has a butler reload your high gloss double so you don't get burnt powder on your fingers while you shoot caged pheasants in mowed pasture drinking lemonade? 🤣
he built that gun to be robust and hard use. There's a reason why the A5 was popular among duck hunters- it worked in shitty conditions. It's a tool of death, proven in combat all over the world and dropped in the muck of swamps from Minnesota to Louisiana and kept on chugging. You're not defacing that gun by painting it, you're using it as intended. Guns aren't talismans or totems or jewelry to be preserved. They're more like chainsaws- built to be used, and appreciated for that use. I've got 2 A5s, one is a Japanese 20ga, given to me by my grandfather. the other is a 1616ga Belgian made one. They stay in their original finishes to commemorate my memory of those men. But they get used like real hunting guns, in the exact manner those men would have wanted me to use them and enjoy them, and that also commemorates and memorializememorializes my uncle and grandfather. None of this idol/jewelry worshipping bullshit. Grandad wasted assloads of doves with that gun, threw it in a dusty truck cab and it stayed there, with his shoulder sweat on the comb, cuntil he shot it again. Uncle shot mallards in the face with it on the TN River and he had to use it as a canoe paddle more than once. They're both collectible guns, but to me they have more value than that. I exercise that value by using them the way they were intended to be used, Like real hunting guns, not safe queens.
I'm kinda torn on this. Hunters had been shooting birds for generations before putting camo on guns. So how much does it really help hunting?
At the same time I do know that birds have really good eyes and seeing a break in the pattern or the sheen of metal can scare them.
God didn't invent shotguns, he wasn't ever really a practical dude. Humans invented them to kill shit. Plastic and spray paint enhance that utility. Wood is fine, but it's not better than modern alternatives.
Glock.
Yes, I know they're good.
Yes, I know they're everywhere.
I'm just tired of people acting like they're the "best" - they're not.
And yea, I'll probably pick one up... Eventually...
Finally acquired an AUG after 2 decades of collecting. It's an Awesome rifle. Much better than I expected and outside of my L85 clone, is my favorite bullpup.
I know this one will get lots of hate but for me it has to be the M&P. I just never been a big fan of anything semi from S&W but there is something about the M&P line that I love to hate.
One particular gun was an old break open single shot 20ga. No weight to it and kicked like a damn mule, probably due to me being young and not fully understanding that it was going to kick that damn hard. 😂
IMO you agreed with him and didn’t know it. Cold War era design could be reasonably called “retro styling” compared to today’s current designs
The person wasn’t saying that MP9s were intentionally designed to look retro
I don't get the MP7 fetish. I'm an HK fan boy but I think the appeal is simply due to how hard they are to acquire. The only draw is "look what I got" not anything to do with the actual firearm.
I think if HK starts importing the SP7, demand is going to drop because it won't be "exclusive" anymore, and that's the only thing it has going for it.
As you said the MP9 is a better form factor, and well, 9mm. If you want something like a 4.6 then 5.7 is right there and there's way more options for 5.7.
Demand will still drop IMO. You'll have a few people buy it as a flex, and until someone clones it (like the Century MP5) it'll basically be a wall hanger in gun shops because nobody actually wants one for anything more than internet clout.
1,000%. There's so many better machine pistols and PDWs.
The Russians had the better idea of upgrading 9mm parabellum rather than introducing an entirely new, cartridge.
I shot a full auto AUG years ago. The trigger is obnoxious because semi auto is half a trigger pull and full auto was all the way back. And the pull was heavy as hell. I just found it awkward and not very intuitive.
The looks are pretty subjective too. As others have pointed out it’s very plasticity and resembles a paintball gun.
> The trigger is obnoxious because semi auto is half a trigger pull and full auto was all the way back
The P90 is the same way. My lady couldn't even get it to go full auto for more than 3 rounds at a time because of the trigger pull.
Yep I really didn’t care for it. The P90 is another one that just doesn’t justify its own existence other than looking “cool.” The 5.7 cartridge is overhyped imo.
I have reasons for every gun I hate. There are a very select few that I wouldn't add to my collection even if money wasn't an issue. *cough*anythingQ*cough*
Striker fired pistols, that combine needing to rack the slide to recock like a single action, and the bad trigger of a double action only. There is literally no reason DASA shouldn't be standard.
Famas, spas, usp (akimbo for bonus points), and especially scar. I realized a while ago that I'm just trying to larp my mw2 character from back in the day
I think all 'bullpup' configurations look like ass. But I realize my attraction to guns is more for the mechanics and beauty of them. Not so much the practicality. JMO.
M16/AR15
It’s so fucking ugly and plain. It’s a black stick with a trigger and a grip and a mag and usually an unnecessarily tacticool barrel shroud, and EVERYBODY has one. *I* can’t even not have one because well meaning gun-appreciating family members keep *gifting* them to me, and *I* don’t want to be an asshole.
The KSG, in my opinion, would be a more logical/functional shotgun. It's not overly heavy, doesn't have a ridiculous large capacity, and can take accessories.
The KSG25 is very heavy empty, I could only imagine it fully loaded. But it's great for those "I'm not sure how many shells it'll take to drop [insert target here], but I know how many I'm going to use" situations.
Honestly I’ve seen many jam and seize up, and they kick like a fuckin mule. (12GA variants anyway) I’ve got 3 friends who own KSGs and all of them have seized up every time we take them out. No idea why.
I thought these were so cool until a few of my friends bought them and started bringing them to the range. These things randomly seize up for no reason whatsoever all the time. The pump and the semi auto version, we would get 5-10 rounds out them bam, bolt or pump would just jam up.
Revolvers with a lug assambly that ends at the muzzle.
Hideous.
There should be one, don't get me wrong (I'm looking at you, Model 10!).
But God's choosen child is the Smith & Wesson Model 19.
All of them huh?
So Glock # (insert number) and AR-15 style rifle # (insert number)....no theyre all different? All of them?
You shoot 1 you shoot them all.
After watching guys in the Australian Army trying to do rapid magazine changes with the Steyr AUG, I laughed and never considered any bullpup ever again.
There’s a reason the SAS, AFP and most Aussie State Police forces didn’t go with the Steyr - and its assembled in Australia so it would make perfect sense logistically to go with the same rifle as the Army. But no one else here wants it….
Not so much without reason, but probably the AR15 platform. It’s everywhere and really killed off a lot of innovative firearms ideas. At the same time its bloody awesome and super hard to beat, even if I prefer AK’s.
Hate is too strong of a word for the gun im gonna say, but I enjoy berettas a lot less than i assumed i would. I can pinpoint absolutely nothing about them that i disliked but i didnt love how it went bang in the hand.
They feel kinda heavy and clunky, 90% fine for everyone but only actually good for a few. I've shot several of the Wonder 9s and always come back to CZ for the grip and recoil feel.
I must be one of the few. The M9 is one of my favorite guns. My view may be biased because I carried one almost daily for 10 years in the Navy. Never had any trouble, and felt almost perfect in my hand.
My CZ P07 is a really nice gun as well. It's definitely lighter, and feels good in my hand, but it's at 90% perfection while the M9 is 100% perfection for my hand.
I'm not sure which I'm more accurate with. But the first time I shot to qualify, I scored 211 (out of 240) having never held one before. After that, I only ever scored 239. Never perfect, but never very far off.
Clunky is the best way to describe it. Could I manage? Absolutely. Did it feel like a high quality firearm? Sure. Did I enjoy how it felt in my hand? Not at all.
Yeah i finally got to shoot a Beretta a while back, and it felt like any other pistol i shot so far.
I remember seeing a video talking about the Beretta has more of a "push" than a "flip-up" or "snap".....but i saw/felt no difference.
Dont hate the gun, but i was underwhelmed when i shot it.
SA-80 Because every time I say "I like Bullpup rifles I think that they are technologically the next evolutionally step in assault rifle development." The other person's next sentence is almost always:
"Oh that means you must like/love the SA-80."
"No, not that one that gun has it own issue that needs to be resolved."
"But you just said you Loved ALL Bullpup rifles."
The conversation devolves from here into a back and forth.
This was going to be my answer. There are legitimate reasons to hate it. It was an unreliable piece of shit for a while. If I remember correctly, h&k eventually fixed it.
Also I remember it being crap in some of the STALKER games.
I don't know about for "no real reason" but I definitely hate the m14 and mini 14 probably more than they deserve.
The FAL and G3 were much better battle rifles than the m14, and the mini only ever got popular because of AWB politics.
The Garand gets a pass because of its age and *ping*
The 3D printed Orca thing PSR showed off frustrates me for reasons I can't explain
https://preview.redd.it/irpe0sntijzg1.png?width=1200&format=png&auto=webp&s=b2b25e601036d72adb423fc4bc2885972d40d97e
Buthered Milsurp as a whole. I get that times were different and the guns were plentiful, but....wait, what's that noise? *Bubba getting the dremel and drill to put a scope on a minty BRNO mauser* BUBBA NO! GODAMN, lost another one.
I really don't like AR-15's, but I have lots of reasons.
Also Glocks are overpriced as hell and haven't innovated since the 80's, but again, those are reasons.
Beretta CX4 Storm. It's been used by so many private security corps and police units in my city that I just feel an instant overwhelming annoyance every time I see it.
Well I can't say that it's for no real reason, just look at this ugly fuck, like what the fuck Steyr?!
https://preview.redd.it/3601njag7jzg1.png?width=789&format=png&auto=webp&s=6753827f6fc124267fa48f7198c3bd4514b54b09
I finally saw one in a local shop a few months ago and asked to check it out. It was even a NATO model so it had the worse single-bar trigger, and I was surprised that it really didn't feel bad at all. Definitely wasn't amazing, but not really worse than any standard $30 milspec AR trigger I've felt.
The Henry Big Boy revolver. Overpriced for how ugly they are. Damn thing looks like Charter Arms tried to make a Colt Lightning. Also, that goofy barrel cut out wouldn't even need to be there if they didn't insist on that weird ejector rod.
I own a few Glocks and I like them less every time I shoot a different pistol. Even with $150 of aftermarket parts, the trigger is one of the worst there is.
I think the only Glock I own that I don't actively dislike is my G42 with a Vickers trigger. Probably because I'm more willing to tolerate a longer, heavier trigger pull on a deep concealment .380. Glock triggers were acceptable 15-20 years ago, but there are so many pistols out there now which blow them out of the water.
I bought one last week and took it out to the range yesterday. The MOS plate wasn’t even screwed in, lost one of the screws after the first 2 shots and spent 30 minutes looking for the damn screw before finally finding it. I only bought it because they are about to become illegal in my state.
I’ll stick with my beretta.
I always thought that the AUG looks like it was designed for paintball and the designer only found out about the live ammunition clause of the contract the day before a submission was due
