Double check if the driving other cars cover will cover the Skoda. Some companies won't let you use DOC on a car that you own.

I expect it'll be cheaper to insure both of you on that car than just her, as a new driver she'll be expensive and if you are experienced without claims it'll bring it down.
Plus who knows when your car might be broken, or the cars need moving around in front of your house etc.

yes i know we need to have insurance on car and hence my wife has learner insurance already. question is do i also need to have it if i am not gonna drive that car often.
