Saw two C-17 unloading while departing Beijing Capital Intertional Airport this morning. Didn't see the Beast. But still a sight to behold.

i thought i saw a video of the 2 C-17 turning off their transponders as they flew into China. any reason why they would do something like that?

Great shot. I am assuming a lot more than just these two show up for unloading all the logistics, support equipment and vehicles prior to US presidential visit.

My only experience with this was a previous president's visit to Ottawa. It was about two weeks of prep work, C-17s and C-5s bringing helicopters and ground vehicles of all sorts, staff as well.
We had to load up our biggest fuel truck and "quarantine" it after it was inspected and tested by agents, kept isolated and lit up 24/7 just in case they needed fuel for any reason.
Took up the entire hangar used for governmental visitors for all the equipment needed right there.
insane amount of logistics for this one country. Everyone else manages with way way less

Finland's PM went to to China recently and flew commercial.

Yep, we had the Prime Minister and all the other party leaders share a single PC12 when they visited Tumbler Ridge after the shooting there.

Wow I love this C-17! Where did u find it?
KasouYuri@reddit
Selling 2 C-17s worth of national secrets to Beijing :/

Lets be real, China just steals IP.

Nobody is selling anything. It’s just pre-positioning vehicles and security equipment because a certain controversial American leader is visiting Beijing next week. This happens in advance of a trip anytime any US President travels, even domestically, but especially international state visits.
