Avoid ordering from Cold Steel

I placed an order for a walking stick from Cold Steel and it arrived but was too large/heavy so I put in for a return. They processed it and said I'd receive a mailing label to send it back. This was months ago and I've been emailing them ever since with no response. Sounds like they might be going down the tubes, so I'd avoid ordering anything from them.

Your post has been removed because it is not focused on the topic of emergency preparedness. Complaining about your experience trying return a product to a company is not suitable for a post here.

I’m so sorry this happened to you. What an awful experience. If all else fails, and they continue to refuse to be helpful, I would at least try to sell it on an online platform. Customer service has really fine downhill across the board lately.

Yup cold steel in the 80s and 90s was great; it sucks now

Customer service seems to be going down everywhere. People are so angry these days. Couple that with poor training and it’s a disaster waiting to happen.
I have been in customer service roles for decades and I was always rated number one in any department for any company that I worked for. It’s actually sad how much it’s degraded.

It’s sad. They had such a great collection. I know Colorado has made it difficult for an FFL to operate, but they had a pretty unique niche. I have to wonder if the market for > Cold War firearms is evaporating

If it’s the one here in Colorado, they are closing shop.

I’m an idiot. I got cold Steele confused with old Steele. Sry

Cold Steel as in direct from the manufacturer or from some dealer??

My Husband makes my own walking sticks. We live in the mountains.

They were bought out. The original owner is no longer running it. Expect enshitification.

noooooo, i have a few folders i bought because they were on sale for super cheap, and i have been pretty impressed. i was planning on buying a few more beater knives eventually.

I'm wondering how the size and weight of the stick surprised you. How far off the measurements given in the Specifications tab was it?
Involuntary-Expert@reddit
I'm really sorry you're having trouble with that order. I've had nothing but great experiences with Cold Steel. Hopefully they'll do right by you
GreasyRim@reddit
So we should not buy from the knife maker with the best value by a country mile because you didn't get a shipping label fast enough for something you ordered wrong?
EDC_KIT@reddit
I've never had anything but great experiences with Cold Steel and their products. Sorry your having trouble finding your return label but I don't think it means the whole company is in a free fall. You should probably just check your spam folder.
