How does one get a Lectric bike serviced?

I’m thinking about getting a Lectric XPress for $999, but I worry that there’s no place to get service if necessary. I’m also eyeing the comparable Aventon Level3, because there’s a dealer in the next town over—but that bike is $1700. Is it really worth the extra $700 just to know I can get service? Thanks!

with less expensive e-bikes, most people learn how to be their own mechanic. there are many videos on youtube to help you learn. if you want turn key service, then you have to buy bikes sold by or serviced by your local bike shop.

This is literally why I got an aventon bike. My local shop sells aventon has all the parts and fixes them well.. They won't service lectric ebikes.
It's up to you if you cheap out it'll be hard to find a bike shop to repair lectric bikes. Also my aventon has almost 19 thousand miles on it and not a single issue so far I've been very happy.
I did pay 1800 so it wasn't cheap

This was the deciding factor for me between getting a Ride1Up and a Velotric bike. There isn’t a single place the services the former within a 200 mile radius of me.

True. I know something is going to break (through no fault of the manufacturer) that I'm not going to want to deal with. Local shop support is important!

Yup and while you may be able to find someone who will work on it, you risk messing with your warranty if someone who isn’t an authorized dealer/service center works on your bike.

Came here to say this. Also I happened to get a great deal on an Aventon model the local bike shop had in stock and were looking to move. So it doesn't have to be more expensive either! (Your mileage will vary, of course.)

I bought a Lectric Xpedition 2.0 and have a service need that they say is covered.
So far of the two places they referred me to, one was not mobile, which it need so be and they said it was, the other can book the work for 13 days out. Unacceptable.
So far, the process does not inspire confidence.

People will tell you that rei will service lctric bikes but my experience with them as a bike repair shop had me really sketched out when I took my bike there and when I went for a ride after my handlebars fell off because they didn't tighten the bolts, when I went back to the shop it was clear that nobody had any clue what they were doing except for one guy over the age of 40 who was stressed the fuck out because he was clearly the only one who knew what he was doing!!!

Clearly depends on the REI. For us, it has been a godsend with a crew in the bike section like an LBS across three e-bikes. Supportive / helpful / responsive/ nice to deal with ….

Talk to your local bike shops and confirm they wont work on your bike. Read on here a million times that local bike shops wont service cheapo ebikes, and maybe that's true if something goes wrong with the "e" portion of the bikes, but the two closest bike shops have been willing and helpful replacing tires and brakes on mine. Nothing "e"-related has failed on me yet going on year 3, so I don't know what happens then, but I've already got my money's worth out of them.

Look on their dealer service page. Is there someone who will service them close to you? If not How mechanical are you? I find lectrics need a bolt check at least once
Odin-spark@reddit
I got a Lectric bike because they are the only ebikes my local shop will service.

If you find a bike shop that sells them so if they service it as well

Check Lectric’s website for affiliated shops near you then call them to confirm.
