How to finalise my RX 9070 XT build ?

Hello, I am in the process of choosing the parts of a gaming pc for 1440p gaming. I decided to build it around the RX 9070 XT as I want to go full AMD and this GPU seems to get very good reviews.
I hesitated on the CPU (and still do) but decided to go with the Ryzen 5 7600X at it’s apparently still good enough. What I still don’t understand is how to choose a good motherboard to connect it all together.
Here are my parts :
Case : Lian Li Lancool 207 ATX for 85€
CPU : Ryzen 5 7600X
Motherboard : Gb B650 Eagle AX (consider this a placeholder) for 140€
RAM : I have a friend that could hook me up with up to 32 Gb for 100€ and a happy meal.
Cooler : Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE for 53€
Storage : Still looking for a 1TB ssd ideally under 150€
PSU : Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 TT for 110€
I would love some advice on these parts, ESPECIALLY the motherboard.

Consider the 9600X for 24€ more. You would need an eight-core CPU only for games that you know that they require much CPU power.
This CPU can be easily and silently cooled with a single-tower cooler. You need the Phantom Spirit only if you actually plan to upgrade to an 120 W X3D CPU soon.
Any B650/B850/X870 motherboard will work with essentially the same performance. B850 supports a PCIe 5.0 GPU slot (which does not make much of a difference in practice); X870 adds USB4 support. (The B650 Eagle is fine; I've chosen the TUF B650 because it added PCIe 5.0 support in the latest BIOS.)
Any SSD will work, but for performance and durability, it should have TLC flash (not QLC).

What games do you play? In 2026 getting a cpu that is "good enough" can get you back on reddit asking about Micro stutters after you finish a brand new build.

Now that you I think about it, I may have gone too low on the cpu. I play a variety of games but nothing too competitive. I aim this build at Subnautica 2 which will be very CPU intensive so yeah I should review my CPU choice. I just have a hard time understanding what a cpu does in gaming other than feeding the GPU with data.

CPU runs majority of game logic, and prepares frames for the GPU to render.
Esports titles that demand high FPS require a CPU that can feed that high amount frames to a GPU
I upgraded my PC in stages for CS2 specifically
I7 9700k & GTX 1070 - 190fps avg
9850x3d & GTX 1070 - 400fps avg
9850x3d & 9060xt 16gb - 800fps avg

exactly... 7800X3D would be the way to go I think

All the gaming builds that shrimp out on the CPU hurts my esports-centric mindset LOL

It's kind of the same for all the big single-player UE5 games, having an X3D CPU is really nice there...

And I just started WoW TBC anniversary... another notoriously unoptimized game that eats CPUs

These are my two go-to motherboards to recommend. They are mostly the same. In most cases, pick the cheaper one.

The B650 Eagle AX is a solid board. You could also look at the Gigabyte B850 Eagle wifi if the budget allows, you could even pop in the 7800X3D/9800X3D in this board without any problems in the future.

As for the SSD, take a look at Team group MP33, it's a budget TLC SSD.

Yeah, I would consider going for a 7800X3D directly... That will last much longer and be a good gaming CPU for quite a while.
The rest looks good, although I think 1TB SSD is a bit too small...
