Adding a nvme ssd but ram disappears after install

I have a gigabyte aorus z390, after installing a gen 4 m2 ssd one of my ram sticks do not read it just says 0 gb on one slot and 8gb on the other slot.
This only happens while the ssd is installed once I remove it it goes back to normal and it reads all of my ram properly as 8gb and 8gb
I’ve tried both m2 slots, clearing cmos, moving around the ram to different slots, nothing works
The only thing is it’s a gen 4 ssd and the motherboard is gen 3 but that shouldn’t be an issue because it’s backwards compatible
Any suggestions?

Did you read the manual of your motherboard? Also try putting the ram in the other 2 spots where the ram goes....I've built many systems that's never happened....yes all nvme systems.

Yes I did and this issue isn’t mentioned, putting the ram in b2 and a2 is the only way for it to actually boot when I move it to b1 and a1 it just has a blank screen with the DRAM light on the mobo on

It might also be the CPU. Putting a Cpu of a certain nomenclature can alter slots for your nvme. Might want to go into the forums of your mobo manufacturers
