So. Laid off from a high paying job last year. Lawyer contacted me asking for details.....no idea how they got my number. Might have emailed em when i was laid off but I honestly don't remember
Told them I suffered from depression and anxiety and migraines as a result of the job stress. They took me on contingency. Anyone been through something like this?

They are probably trying to initiate a lawsuit or settlement for illegal dismissal. Unless they ask for retainer upfront, they are likely legit. Lawyers take the cut after you win.
There is indeed a chance you can win. However, unless you are actually fired due to retaliatory reasons with solid evidence, do not attempt it. Words can spread around and may affect your future employment.
