P8Z77-V Pro - Wi-Fi GO! card connectivity issue - do these cards actually work?!

I picked up a used P8Z77-V Pro for my first build and it’s got the Wi-Fi GO! card but I cannot for the life of me to get this to work properly - it shows in device manager and I’ve tried updating drivers a few different ways but it doesn’t connect.
It rarely will show my network with a super weak signal - but once in a blue moon. I’m 2-3 m from the router. Doesn’t connect when it does show and basically never actually shows the network.
My network supports IEEE 802.11ax/ac/n/a 5 GHz & IEEE 802.11ax/n/b/g 2.4 GHz and so this should work with the Wi-Fi GO! card which supports IEEE 802.11 b/g/n according to the manual (2.4 ghz). Network is running off two TP-Link X20 Deco and the PC is close to the main one. Works fine off Ethernet plugged into the X20
I’ve tried making my network 2.4 ghz only and this doesn’t seem to help.
Has anyone used one of these cards recently? Do they still work? I don’t want to waste more time troubleshooting it if they just don’t work now (person I bought it from says she never tested it so that’s no help) but I also don’t want to waste money on buying a wifi adapter if I don’t need to either.
** I know Ethernet is better but I want to also have wifi capability so answers just saying “use Ethernet” aren’t helpful - just want to try to get this card working or know it won’t work because it’s too old (generic advice I’ve gotten but it seems like it should still work)
Also if anyone has a link to recent drivers - please share. Thanks

Network - Deco X20 - have tested w/fast roaming, beam forming & IPv6 disabled and with only 2.4 ghz network enabled and no joy. Not tested on another wifi network but no neighbours show up either & other devices see several

I have that exact same board. It's a tiny card that does both WiFi and Bluetooth that plugs into a proprietary port on the I/O shield area right? I mostly used wired myself, but I never had issues with it's wireless connectivity. I think I used it's WiFi recently about a year ago or less.

Mine is the wifi only one - but yes. I believe the Bluetooth/wifi card does 5 & 2.4GHz and also supports a/b/g/n and is faster than mine. I gave in and bought a little USB wifi adapter for $14 in case I want to put my PC in other rooms for whatever reason (my house has really silly wiring) but it would still be nice to get to one working that I got with it - also I’m already annoyed since the DisplayPort didn’t work but I have a GPU now anywaysb

Double-checked, my board is a Asus P8Z77-V DELUXE, which is pretty close to the PRO version. Mostly the Deluxe has more USB/SATA ports and Bluetooth, as well as a BIOS reset, but otherwise is similar.
As I said, while I didn't heavily use the WiFi and Bluetooth much, I actually did use it about a year ago to migrate nearly two terabytes of Steam games over to a new drive, and the board's built in WiFi still worked fine despite the PC being in the basement at the time and the WiFi router on the top floor.
So the cards definitely do work. Did you install the drivers for it from Asus's site or did you let Windows install generic drivers for it? If you did one, try the other, that might be the issue. That board was made during the Windows 7 era after all.

There are two versions of the WifiGO! card rather - there’s the one with Bluetooth and one without. The Bluetooth on supports 2.4 & 5Ghz and a few more wifi protocols than the one without Bluetooth. Mine is the one that’s only wifi & not wifi & Bluetooth which only has 2.4GHz and so is slightly different to your WifiGO card.

Yes the WiFi Bluetooth card do work 2.4- 5g for WiFi a 4.0 Bluetooth when the drivers are added they blink green and blue. but they have no range unless you connect the antenna one for each . the connector is very flimsy and break off. from the wire.
