Reminds me of 2013 clash of clans. This one person would take dibs on war attacks and ruin the whole order for everyone else. Anyone who complained or tried to reason with them got kicked out by the leader.
Atleast for you the drama was online. I played with my friends at school around that time and drama led to the creation of a new clan. Whenever someone had beef IRL, they'd join the other clan.
i used to be a GM of few WoW guilds, the last one that survived for 3 expansions had 2 (among other rules)
* no couples playing together;
* no women on significant roles (healers, tanks);
I agree with the first rule wholeheartedly. By god I have witnessed guilds fall apart because of couples. Hell, I witnessed couples fall apart because of guild (sic!)
Second rule kinda sus though. I'd actually like an elaboration on this too.
So from our experience from previous guilds (either our own or someone's), women we met in game, really could not take criticism, constructive or not, and rage quit on first sign of honest advice or some mean words, pick your poison there. Maybe it was bad luck, but we came to conclusion that it's better safe than sorry.
Also like OP mentioned, some people start to simp and this can escalate into difficult situation, where kicking involved people can have grave consequences. Getting good healer and/or tank is difficult, replacing DPS is cheap.
Interesting, my most memorable story in this regard is when I was in a guild who was run by a married couple, they both pulled their weight, it was kinda adorable to me at the time, how they played together and all, but I wondered how they had time to do anything else since they were online A LOT.
Either way, time went on, this new guy joined the guild, he was pretty cool. This was in the era before discord so we all just chilled on TeamSpeak while grinding, no profile pics no nothing, just our voices. Anyway I began to notice that when I logged off for the night both the wife of the guild leader and the new guy would often stay on, oftentimes alone to keep on grinding. The husband had no issue with his wife playing on even after he himself went to bed, they had different job and the husband had to wake up earlier.
One day I logged on for a chat and the husband told us that he is quitting the game due not having time as he needs to focus on his divorce. Our jaws just hit the floor, they seemed really happy together, but he later revealed to me and a few others in private chat that his wife just up and left almost over ight to be with the new guy. Filed for divorce, decided to move in with him and all.
Take from that story what you will but I haven't trusted a gamer couple since then, especially ones with marching nicknames.
Experienced basically the same, the wife played in another party with other dudes / guildies. Husband was totally fine with it. Then she left him for one of the other dudes. Plus they had a baby.
like a hpal, man or woman, is going to crash out over the most trivial shit and believe to be holier than thou
if you find a woman autistic enough to play a prot warr or bear tank it'll probably be fine
any guy playing a disc priest is guaranteed to be schizophrenic
resto druids are complicated. if its a nelf resto druid, sure you're right a solid chunk of the time. if it's a tauren resto druid, they're probably too generally dysthymic to crash out over criticism over getting told how to fix up their heal parse.

holy shit can't agree more, every guy that played disco was insane as fuk, but everytime a good healer
I think there might be an underlying issue with the guilds if that's the case cause "women can't take constructive criticism" is
1) already a red flag
2) that one still imploded just slower
Also I may I ask where trans people players get assigned with that rule? Via AGAB or is it trans women aren't allowed to play anything but DPS?
It also may be because I play GW2, FFXIV and STO but I've never seen a guild have issues because of women
I HAVE seen Gamer Couples cause massive drama or fuck up runs tho that's very real but as someone with a partner who I play MMOs I do despair in being put into the same bracket as those weirdos
We had few more rules like no group of friends, or no family joining together etc, to minimize the odds of someone sucking balls and after being removed from raid group pulling someone along
Twice? Maybe I've been playing too many games with guilds... But it's the standard.Â
"Guild masters wife" should be a title they give ingame with a gameplay mechanic, let her do anything the guild master can do and read all his messages too.
Rule of thumb, get along with the guild masters wife, or be prepared to be without guild any day for made up reasons.Â

Can these people get some fucking self respect

Ironically simps and self respect form a Venn diagram that resembles the one thing they drive away; breasts.
