Upgrading GPU, advice needed

Hi, my family member passed his old setup to me (not gaming oriented) and it's great but the GPU is creating a narrow bottleneck (I think)
these are the specs:
cpu Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7820X CPU 3.60 GHz
32 gb memory
gpu NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti
350W MAX combined, Pulse 350 ATX
Motherbord is x299 Extreme
I am looking for a gpu that is just enough to pair up well with the rest of the setup, nothing extreme (budget is like 300euros) and boost the performance for gaming.
ps. do I need to change the power supply as well?

You will need to do a power supply upgrade. 550w is probably fine, but 750w will give you plenty of space for future upgrades.
For the GPU, a used 30 series card would make a lot of sense. 3060, 3060 ti, 3070, or AMD equivalents would make sense in your budget. Though anything much higher than that and CPU limitations will be apparent. 7820X is still okay by modern standards, but not exactly something you should use in a true high end gaming build.

I already considered a 3060ti but I'm not sure if it makes sense to buy a new one, should I go for second hand purchase? (I'm asking because from the sites I went through, a new 3060ti is just overpriced and used one's are a lot more grounded in reality)

You can get a 5060 for 300 euros, also its power is low so you wont need to change the power supply
