You can freeze your card on most banking apps worth doing that if you haven’t already.

You can do but it isn’t essential. Just report to the bank, there are many systems they can use to check if a transaction is likely to have been fraudulent; we can see IP addresses, MAC addresses and the email used to log in to whatever service the money gets stolen through. From what I’ve seen it is completely foolproof; and the benefit of the doubt is always given - your story just needs to “stack up/ make sense” and it is refunded immediately, during the phone call.

Sure I think the effort of clicking a button to freeze the card on an app you already have installed would help with peace of mind though.
Having to wait for a fraudulent transactions then wait to explain it on a call and hopefully get your money back seems a lot of hassle/stress to me.

It absolutely would help with peace of mind not seeing your balance disappear down yeah, apologies if that seemed dismissive

call the bank and cancel your cards

Ignore ANYONE in your direct messages offering “recovery” or “hacking” services - they are also scammers.

It’s quite common for the same scammer or his friends to just keep contacting the same person who previously fell for it. They may tell you they are police officers. Do not believe anyone contacting you about this, deal only with the phone number printed on the back of your card.

Report the full situation; exactly what happened - to your card provider by telephone. Don’t simply “ask for a new card”; tell them exactly why you’re asking.
As long as this hasn’t been happening over and over again to you, any UK regulated bank will be able to secure your account and prevent/ reverse any fraudulent transactions immediately.

This OP, they have dedicated lines open 24/7 for exactly this reason as crime doesn't rest sadly.
