What was your science project at the Science Fair?

I feel like we all have some nostalgic science fair projects that didn’t get the accolades it deserved.

Went to school in Florida they don't happen to believe in Science but I do remember the Bible verses I had to study.

Only did one, once, because it was mandatory.
How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsi pop.
You know what its like to get a candy rash on your tongue or get a candy sliver splinter in it? Worst part was i don't remember the results.

We never had a science fair. My school was too poor.

Built a VR headset in 1996, won a $2k grant.
Still upset that Palmer Luckey did the same thing 20 years later and got a $2 billion buyout.

Solar powered sun lamp. It was 88 solar panels were expensive. My dad was special forces in the Army and had cool things to bring home and show me how to make.

I invented shoes that had headlights that would activate when you stepped down. The prototypes worked. Three months later BK beat me to market.

Mine was on the ozone layer. Instead of picking a new topic each year, I’d improve upon the previous version. I guess it worked out well because I got to go to Provincials (Canada’s version of state comps). I ended up having a lot of fun doing it.

I made paper one year and another year I tested Coke and Pepsi (at different temperatures) to see if they'd take rust and gunk off stuff. The Coke in the crock pot was able to clean ancient rusty nails from a decrepit barn. The Pepsi did nothing. Apparently it impressed me, because I drink Coke.

Potato Power! Also Lemon Power because they were stronger. I used copper pennies and zinc coated nails, measured volts, and milliamps hooked them in series and parallel and powered various devices including a calculator, LED light bulbs, and other stuff I knew it couldn't possibly power just to prove it.

Music at plants. Like 7 years running(if it comes up). Impossible to verify and 4th grade teachers don't know math either.

i entered every year, but only remember a few: I built a solar powered fan with my dad (RIP), tested which color (wavelengths) of light yielded the most crop (lima beans in jars), and tested the properties of various shampoos. i always placed/went to the state competitions, and am now a working scientist, so something must have clicked!
i mostly remember working on those huge foam boards we always had to create. somehow no matter how many rulers I used or how careful I was, the lettering always ended up crooked 😞

I demonstrated that it is somewhat possible for you to influence the outcome of a coin flip, when it's you doing the flipping at least.
I'd like to try it again and see what results I get trying to influence someone else's flips.
But bizarrely (/s), it's hard to find someone interested enough to spend a couple hours flipping a coin 300 times.
