Commuter e-bike recommendation

I’m looking for a good e-bike for commuting to my campus and back with. I realized that it’d be much cheaper to just buy a bike than drive back and forth to class everyday. I’m 5’11, and would like something that just feels right to ride, maybe a mountain bike style? I’m not too informed about them, so I’d appreciate some recommendations or tips for looking!

Lectric, they are great for beginners and experts alike.

Someone should lunch Republican EBikes since this stupid war has sent gas prices to 6.50 a gallon in the Bay Area.

The 'commuter' bike style is probably what you're looking for. The geometry puts you in a more upright and comfortable position. Lectric, Aventon, and Voletric all make great commuter bikes. There are sizing charts as well to help you pick the correct frame for your height. At 5'11 you could probably get away with a medium but a large might fit better.

go to a local shop and try different styles of bike in different frame sizes.
only way to find out what feels right for you

For sure I would recommend a test ride at a local reputable bike shop. I bought from a family-owned bike shop here in Denver whose owner turned out to kind of an asshole, dishonest and refused to service my bike any more after not being able to fix it.
I took it to a reputable bike shop and they were happy to fix it for $80- $100. I have taken it there since and they're great and I wish I had purchased it from them in the first place.

I second this, plus if you buy local there's a better chance they'll service it should you need repairs or upgrades.

Seconded. One of the most reliable brands out there. Can't go wrong with any model.

Gas prices are indeed high now, and parking fees and car maintenance costs are quite substantial.

Right. My car only takes 93, and that’s $5.2 here😓 at 14mpg that hurts my pockets quick

Oil prices have doubled in various regions this year.
