Tandems all the way up, it was a two pickup load so both shippers weren’t sure how to arrange pallets, closest scale was 50 miles away
So i slid my 5th wheel to the front
Full tanks
Washington to Indiana, my only concern is Idaho boise WS
Tromboneofsteel@reddit
I have an APU and run reefers, this is a normal looking scale ticket to me
msmith7871@reddit
Free her up and let her eat......you will have to stop at every weight house so they can check each axle but you should be good to go.......
amazingmaple@reddit
What are you worried about?
Individual_Wasabi669@reddit (OP)
Steers weigh
amazingmaple@reddit
What's your axle rating?
MachStyle@reddit
More importantly, what's the tires rating? Op look at the side wall of your steers and see what the single tire load limit is.
Individual_Wasabi669@reddit (OP)
Tires r rated for 14,300
Axle at 13,500
Blowing boise WS windows off lol
Wasabi-Kungpow@reddit
Then you steers max legal weight is 13,500. I think all states are 14,500 on steers or max rating for the truck.
OffWalrusCargo@reddit
There is no difference for steers over single axle except for tire width requirements. So long as you're under 80k axle and tire limits are the only thing that matters. Heavy haul gets tricky because some states do have limits on heavy haul stears but I think its only 3. And its 16k plus.
Mindes13@reddit
What's the tire pressure though? Is it at the cold psi that's in the sidewall? Because if it's under that, your tire is not rated for that weight now.
Disastrous-East-1143@reddit
Put your 5th wheel about halfway back , basically between your tandems... should fix it
12inchSpindle@reddit
Got an APU or EPU? If so I'd rather be up to 500 over on drives
theminnesoregonian@reddit
Do you have an APU?
Individual_Wasabi669@reddit (OP)
Yes
planetbuster@reddit
in some states you get a 'bonus' if your truck has an apu on it, is why he asked
also, check the door sticker for the GW on your steer axle. its often 12500 but even if its 12000 you should be able to skate with that
theminnesoregonian@reddit
Correct. IIRC you get a 500 pound allotment for APU's.
HowlingWolven@reddit
You get up to 500 lbs for an EPU. The APU manual tells you how many pounds you can claim.
Feeling-Bowl-9533@reddit
The rating for it or what it weighs empty? Unless you have some kinda weird setup that’s crazy!
planetbuster@reddit
yeah the steer axle gross weight rating of the t680 i got is 14320
the sticker clearly says "GAWR FRONT 14320"
just like.. why, haha
TruckinTuba@reddit
Yeah, you're light
Individual_Wasabi669@reddit (OP)
Steers was my issue
Thought it’s 12k lbs max
HowlingWolven@reddit
20k for a single axle or the limit of the lowest component rating in the steer axle assembly.
Mikey_BC@reddit
Thats assuming you're maxed out at 34,000 on tandems and drives.
TruckinTuba@reddit
Never ran 12k, first company was 13,200 current company is 20k
Read the load rating on your tires for confirmation, but should be between 13-14k
DrillTheThirdHole@reddit
look at the ratings and then make the call, driver. we can't and won't ok it on your behalf.
HowlingWolven@reddit
Yes. At worst, you’re 10 lbs over on steers if they’re 12350 rated, and everything else is in balance.
Check your door card for the steer axle rating and the tire sidewall for the tire rating. Multiply the tire rating by two, then take the lower of the tire or the axle - that’s your steer axle weight limit.
jadedshibby@reddit
If you have an apu and your steers are rated for the weight you're good, if not you just need to burn off 34 gallons of fuel to be within 1% on the steers. Personally I would cut south to 80 and go around Idaho, but that's just me.
SchityCityGangBang@reddit
Your silly. I’d run that and smile at the cops as I pull thru.
jadedshibby@reddit
Oh not cause of the scale, I just hate Idaho
SchityCityGangBang@reddit
😂
jfrostislost@reddit
Yes Roll with it
Enigma_x23@reddit
Send it
Thegrandestpoo@reddit
I think most steers are rated for 12.5 assuming your tires are good to go
SchityCityGangBang@reddit
My axels always at like 12,300 when loaded heavy never had an issue. Yall need to calm down 12,300 is like doing 3mph over the speed limit even if you were only rated for 12000.
CUBuffs1992@reddit
Should be good to go. Doesn’t hurt to burn fuel in Washington before Idaho.
Individual-Level8925@reddit
Your good, send it bud
Agitated-Bison-7885@reddit
Well yeah, if you’re all fueled up that is
Sure_Try6958@reddit
Move the fifth wheel and then tandems to compensate the weight on drives
aawhirl81@reddit
Got a full tank or an empty tank?
Individual_Wasabi669@reddit (OP)
Full tanks
aawhirl81@reddit
I don’t see an issue
Individual_Wasabi669@reddit (OP)
Steers always on 11800 that’s why im asking
Never slid my 5th wheel
TruckinTuba@reddit
I've never seen steers that low
aawhirl81@reddit
Must be one of those four-cylinder diesel engines
Jasonawilliam@reddit
Send it
Shutyourmanhole26@reddit
Giggitty
humblecocoliving123@reddit
Good to go, it’s better to be heavy on nose then tail
justhereforthefunnyZ@reddit
I would just drive at a half tank and send it.
Individual_Wasabi669@reddit (OP)
Why ? Im good on drive axle
justhereforthefunnyZ@reddit
You are indeed. Like I said half tank fill up you’re good.
justhereforthefunnyZ@reddit
