Items for the truck.

As someone who is new and about to start my journey over the road I need some advice.
What items are a must to bring?
What will make my life easier in the long run.

Case of water, tooth brush, change of underwear... Everything else is negotiable

Anti-bacterial hand wipes can be a real life saver for when you're not able to catch a shower.

I have three headlamps in my cab. First aid kit that’s up to date.

A small tool box with: - Wire Snips - Zip ties - At least 2 vice grips - At least 2 channel locks - An adjustable wrench - WD-40 - Electrical Tape - Duct Tape - Screw Driver with changeable bits - gladhand seals There are two kinds of company drivers: Those that say "that's not my job." and wait for minor repairs/ roadside, and those that realize 10 minutes and a couple of those items in the toolbox will get you moving again instead of waiting 2+ hours.
At least 2 pairs of gloves, I use leather gloves for fueling and these for everything else.
A motivator (2.5lb sledge hammer) for thumping tires and motivating things to move.
GOOD sheets, GOOD pillows, and a pillow top mattress cover.
Quality 12v charger plugs and USB cables
Arm sleeves and sun screen, the left side of your face and your left arm, will thank you after driving west all day.
Sunglasses. Polarized and mirrored, w/e color tint, on a gray base lens works best, amber base lenses are okay, avoid brown base lenses. A pair of yellow "night time" glasses. I don't use them at night, but when it's raining heavy, they cut through the spray glare.

Paper towels, cleaner, wet wipes (for you and Lysol wipes for other), coffee mug, water jug, rug for the bunk area, garbage bags( ffs throw these away daily at least).

Get a good electric cooler and stock it with groceries so you don't have to eat fast food garbage and a nice 12v oven (if you don't have a fancy truck with a fridge / microwave). Baby wipes for when you can't shower. Plenty of cleaning supplies. Have a good selection of tools including locking pliers, which will be invaluable for keeping shitty trailer tandem handles stay out if they won't by themself.

I fully recomend a fubar (hammer crowbar combo)
Also a tire plug kit and air chuck, you don't have to, but its way faster to plug and fill a tire than to wait for road call and as they say, time is money

More than 1 pair of gloves. I use the nitrile dipped gloves for fuel and keep them in the side box. I like Well Lamont hydrahyde for everything else. Find an empty cube of def and take the funnel off of it, they fit most oil and coolant jugs. Hand cleaner wipes, I like the tub-o-towels, they are bigger than the orange brand.

Question first. Truck? Double bunk or single? Flatbed or dryvan or other?
nuget102@reddit
That largely depends on you. I like living comfortably - I'm OTR for 5+ weeks at a time. I bring my steamdeck with me, I have a induction cooktop, cookware, plates, silverware, fridge with a separate freezer compartment, fresh fruit and veggies, baby wipes for cleaning my hands after securing (I do flatbed), hand sanitizer. I now have a projector as well with a projector screen so I can watch movies on a large screen in my truck.
