Jobcentre interview - how does it work?

So I have an interview later today (it’s 2am rn, interview is very early in the morning) at the job centre (sigh) and was only told about it yesterday. I haven’t had the time to get all my identification documents printed out and was wondering….does anyone know if I can print them there or if I should just find a printer anywhere to avoid the hassle?
I’m black and well I’ve never known my people to own working printers hence the predicament 🤣😭.
I just want to be prepared but honestly have not had the chance. Are digital copies accepted?

Nah, you still have to attend a first appointment and regular checkups if you're claiming new style JSA from your class 1 contributions, not sure why you'd come to that conclusion when they're asking the best way to get their proof documents printed? 🤔

Not sure if it's applicable to every Jobcenter but when my partner had to claim new style JSA (yay redundancy) he took his documents along as they accepted and got him in within two days and the bloke took them to a scanner to get copies. Obvs not sure if every place has people that would do that but worth an ask?

Yeah you’re definitely right I’ll try this today! My fear was them rescheduling my interview as I do not want to have to go back over some paper. It’s my initial interview and considering they gave me almost no time, I’m really hoping they accept my digital stuff or let me print it there.

My local job centre has printers inside for claimants to use if they don’t have access to printers at home. If it is bank statements/ID for example you can often upload them to your online account once they’ve been requested by your work coach, but if they need physical copies they’ll usually have the facilities for that onsite.

Absolutely, you can provide any documentation electronically. Just make sure you have it downloaded and ready to go!
And don't sweat too much about the interview, it's more of a formality, to confirm that you're eligible. It's not like a job interview, they won't ask you questions to test you.
The best thing you can do, is go in with a good attitude, and make it clear that you're actively looking for employment.

They will help you print your documents if you don’t have a printer, if they don’t they’ll probably direct you to a library nearby, just explain you don’t have a printer but you’ve got the documents ready digitally
Usually the appointments are a lot quicker than you’d expect as well, most of the people are nice and understanding too

You will need to rebook your appointment and will be waiting another week or two.
Ive never had to do it, but honestly I doubt they would help me print sheet if I need.
You should be fine though. I didnt have a printer and didnt get anything printed when I signed on last, as long as your digital shit has your address/identity on it you should be fine.
But they dont really fuck around on time which is why I dont think they'd let you run out to print something if needed. You can always call up the job center line and ask them questions. (When youve signed on, if you have any general questions about the process, call them up and ask. Its much quicker to get an answer. Anything specific will need to go to your work coach.)

No worries! It sucks but at worst youll have maybe 1 more in person interview and then they'll book you in for a phone call interview quite a ways in advance.
