Is this similar to your culture

Jokes aside I love taking seemingly awful videos like this and analyzing the information they give us. THIS is what I mean when I say I love how Romania blended its Turco-Islamic and Central European culture.
The boots are Central European
The rugs are a hybrid influence, mostly Turkish. The way the decor is set up is Ottoman influenced.
The dance moves are Turkish
The music is a Central European violin, playing an Ottoman/oriental sounding melody
And the person themselves looks like they could be Ukrainian, Turkish, Bulgarian, Bosnian or Slovak.
There are so many layers to this video I’ve watched it so many times. Also, I see Balkan women doing the dance moves (specifically the hands/arms) so many times at various parties, even clubs, and I marvel in awe every time I see it because I don’t know how to do it at all.
ThingCandid9553@reddit
I lost an inch of my dick looking at this shit.
Spiderby65@reddit
No.
tipoftheiceberg1234@reddit (OP)
Wow! Croatia doesn’t relate with something seljački from the Balkans. Big news, tear out the front page
Imaginary_String_814@reddit
Are you kidding me?
Didn’t you see the classical musical orchestra from Thomson which was a homage towards Mozart and Beethoven last summer ?
He only gets called a fascist because the people can’t handle his greatness, his music is too pure /s
Spiderby65@reddit
Do you think all of us support him or what?
Imaginary_String_814@reddit
Ofc not Croats are not a monolith Support is a strong word but most people doesn’t seem to be bothered with a Ustase lover filling whole stadiums in 2026. he should be banned like he is in the developed world.
Spiderby65@reddit
The question was "your culture". I don't relate.
tipoftheiceberg1234@reddit (OP)
Duly noted. Thanks for your opinion

One day you are young, looking at that "dated" dancing thinking that will never be me, but then the next day you are unlocking your aunty dance moves completely subconsciously.
P-l-Staker@reddit
Oof... 😂
New_Accident_4909@reddit
It's actually a positive thing, you learn to care less about what people think and more about actually having fun.
Clubs are full of dimwits who stop themselves from enjoying because they are afraid that they will look uncool (i was one of them too).
Martha_Fockers@reddit
You age 16 minding your own business at a wedding
Que your mom coming at you dancing telling you to get up there’s a lot of pretty girls here go make yourself seen

IllGold3207@reddit
I am Romanian and no one from my family members have this kind of behaviour 🤣.
This type of dance and music it's listening from people from village area (a small part, not all of them), especially from 80' generation.
ATAKURT1453@reddit
i hate it when people who’ve never set foot in turkey for even a single day talk about us. No, there is nothing 'turkish' about this video. you just think there is.
tipoftheiceberg1234@reddit (OP)
The dance moves look oriental. The rug designs look Turkish. The music sounds oriental.
If it didn’t come from Turkey it had to come from somewhere, and it sure as hell wasn’t Italy !!!
Ill-Dragonfruit4394@reddit
C’est pas de turquie ça. Cet instrument ou cette melodie n’existe pas chez nous. Je pense que elle est bulgare ou serbe. Le phénotype de la femme
A elle seule prouve que elle n’est pas turque
tokalper@reddit
This style does exist in Turkey it might not be popular but was very popular in balkan regions. Search rumeli ekrem old songs have similar vibes. instrument changed soem use org if big wedding but in smaller circle's you can see violin is used dor the same songs what matters is the melody and this melody is surely similar to balkan regions melodies
ATAKURT1453@reddit
what you are doing is exactly orientalism. just because something looks orient/authentic to your eyes doesn't mean its origin is from here.
tipoftheiceberg1234@reddit (OP)
I think ur just a hater and there are Turkish elements in this video that you’re rejecting for some reason lol
ATAKURT1453@reddit
this is who we are. when i go out into the street, i see these people.
if you want to see some real haters, look at the AskBalkan turks who lose their minds when they see this picture, desperately trying to prove how european they are
tipoftheiceberg1234@reddit (OP)
Some Turkish people look like that more east but some look like this woman \^\^\^\^
ATAKURT1453@reddit
yeah, 90% of them look like the ones in the picture i sent and the other 10% look like your mother in the video
tipoftheiceberg1234@reddit (OP)
You don’t know what my mother looks like because she keeps her face off the streets unlike yours who’s probably auditioning for every kind of vid out there
ATAKURT1453@reddit
i know your mother very well

Türkiye de, türkler de her zaman müslüman kalmaya devam edecek. Video ki otoyol fahişesi anana benziyor olabilir bunu türkler diye genellemeyeceksin her zaman kendi küçük osuruk azınlığın adına konuşacaksın. Bu ülkede çoğunluk biz müslüman türkleriz sen değilsin. 25 yıl ananızı belledik hala akıllanmadınız.

no sir we are arab country. we are islamic country sir. we are not european or asian sir.😭🥀
UnderstandingCool574@reddit
I agree about the set up looking Turkish, but neither the dance or the woman dancing looks Turkish. Maaaaaybe she is a gypsy? But not really a Turkish person. Also the music actually sounds Balkan and not ottoman.
tokalper@reddit
What are you talking about have you even been to a thrace wedding
BurgurluGenc031@reddit
İf someone show me and say its from our village/town, i would believe it easily.

If it weren't for the violin, I would say, Armenian, because the background resembles old style Armenian household.
Mucklord1453@reddit
The funny thing is all those things you think are "ottoman" were all predated as byzantine culture.
Minskdhaka@reddit
Even the rugs?
ieradp@reddit
I forgot this existed...
tipoftheiceberg1234@reddit (OP)
did this go viral in Romania 😩
Moonbeam1184@reddit
Yea this is what we call an empire culture. Even though we all hate ottomans, one of their goal was to be an real empire making sure that there is some sort of a ottoman culture to bind all ethnic groups together.
