New water bill invoicing system

Thanks for the heads up COP. Water almost got cut off. Looks like they changed the payment provider and weren’t clear with the communication. I have been on autopay for the longest time so go figure.
I see there’s already some similar threads related to this.

Same crap happened to me. Idiots running this thing

My wife and I were talking about this but I’m sure there’s hundreds of older folks that are going to get notices about non-payment and be very confused. The only announcements I saw were on social medias, I didn’t get a mailer, I didn’t get an email, etc. My in-laws had no idea until I told them and they’re pretty on top of things

Sadly I think it will be thousands of older folks.

Only found out because I moved and logged in to stop service lol.

This is ridiculous for 2 months In a row I’ve been late on payment because somehow my autopay isn’t linked anymore. I had to enroll in some sort of text notification….

If not for this sub, I wouldn't have known anything about it.
They really botched it.

Guess you don't know how many times info on the new autopay system was posted here do you?

Wow. Thanks for the heads up! I never saw anything either

I paid my bill yesterday and found that I had managed to “opt out” of paper billing. Not sure how.

Yeah, they have my email address, but I don’t see any notice of this change whatsoever. If I hadn’t seen it on nextdoor or reddit, I’d have no clue this was coming. Completely incompetent government service, but they don’t care, because they can’t be fired, and only residents will be inconvenienced. And they have no competition, of course.
Even the new system is straight out of the 90s, designed by committee and programmed by elderly interns (nobody out of college this century could come up with a website so clunky).

I saw quite a few notices, but i forget where i saw them. I doubt they will just go and shut off 100's of people who didn't see them. the cost of gas and labor would be way high for people willing to pay. Ive had a card expire and they call and leave a door tag before they actually shut it off.
accounts receivable may just be a bit high for a while.
