Maintenance crew will need to see it before it goes anywhere, doesn’t look like they complied with the preservation procedure.
bad_investment_@reddit
No one performed the preservation procedure on this aircraft and left it at the gate. Spirit just shut down and everyone went home. It’s going to need a maintenance check before it can be returned to service with whomever may acquire it.

A sweet way to describe the situation. Applicable to other businesses, too.

Anthropomorphizing airplanes sitting at a gate and pretending you'll all miss Spirit is the most cringe thing I've seen in this subreddit in a good while.

As much as this airline got ragged on, I am going to kind of miss it. When I younger and didn't have as much money to fly the nicer airlines this airline got me where I needed to be cheap. Granted either a little delayed sometimes but for the most part always on time.
I_like_cake_7@reddit
Spirit’s Big Front Seat was my favorite. Sometimes it was only a $30 or $35 upgrade, and you got a domestic first class seat without the first class service. For $30, that was a fantastic deal that no other airline offered.
TheAgedProfessor@reddit
Watching any airline fold (or merge) is tough. The loss of jobs. The loss of a business. I'm not sure I'll miss Spirit, though. Other than the fact that now all the bad seed passengers that built that reputation of getting ragged on are now looking for other airlines to fly.
malcifer11@reddit
The loss of employment alone is heartbreaking. I job searched for more than a year before finally landing where I’m at now and it was the lowest time of my life. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone, and comparatively I had it pretty good. I never wanted for a home or food. I can only hope all of the former Spirit folks are as lucky

Passengers and crew will definitely show up at some point after a paint job

Not with that spirit they won’t, OP.

I was at MCO yesterday and saw this lone sad banana sitting at the gate with 8 more in storage on the north ramp. The ferry flights into Goodyear have 8 birds being moved by Nomadic so far.

This sub likes to glaze the superficial levels of aviation so this checks out.

it sure does feel like so much more than one, if you have the right appreciation for it.
