I used to trade a kid a Swiss Cake Roll for their FIESTADA
yatesisgreat@reddit
God damn I've forgotten about this thing! As soon as I saw the picture, I could taste it. Now I want one.
mallanson22@reddit
They called this a Mexican pizza in my school in Indiana.
SeaSkimmer2@reddit
Mexican Pizza in Florida too.
In no particular order, I remember the following for the 5 weekdays, and I canโt remember the other two at the moment:
-Chicken Nuggets -Mexican Pizza -Chicken Patty
tultommy@reddit
No bowl of chili with a giant cinnamon roll?
SeaSkimmer2@reddit
No. But I do remember at some point in elementary school, they did introduce a salad bar.
Chocolate milk, mexican pizza, salad.
They taught us well.
MortgageRegular2509@reddit
Ours was described as:
Chicken patty (on bun)
MossGobbo@reddit
Hamburger, That rectangular pizza
MulberryEastern5010@reddit
Taco pizza in Ohio
Sirtriplenipple@reddit
Will confirm taco pizza in Ohio.
MulberryEastern5010@reddit
I started looking for recipes on Pinterest!
MossGobbo@reddit
Same in Florida.
parlayandsurvive2@reddit
This was Mexican pizza in my schools in miami and ft lauderdale
nochickflickmoments@reddit
Maryland too
elphaba00@reddit
Fiestada in Illinois
GarblingCumfarts@reddit
SW Indiana here, definitely Mexican Pizza.
she-dont-use-jellyyy@reddit
Same, in my school in rural upstate NY
GenX_Eeyore28@reddit
As a fellow Hoosier, let's be honest, they possibly still do.
coffeegogglesftw@reddit
Yup, Wisconsin too.
BrambleVale3@reddit
Yeah, Mexican pizza in Ky too.
_--_Osiris_--_@reddit
My experience in ky as well, loved this day for lunch!
SeaSkimmer2@reddit
I could go for some chocolate milk right about now.
APOC_V@reddit
Donโt mind if I do.
Sirtriplenipple@reddit
Now put it in a bag, please.
balsaaaq@reddit
Get me an extra for $.35
RalphMacchio404@reddit
It was .15 cents when I was in elementary school. For a buck you got a lunch and an extra milk.ย
Stratocaster213@reddit
By far the best lunch menu item. No question.
CorgiMonsoon@reddit
I would ask for extra lunch money so I could get a second one on those days
SparkyXI@reddit
Full stop.
ChimmyCharHar@reddit
๐ฏ
spuldup@reddit
Hard to choose between these and wiener roll-ups. Hollywood square for desert, naturally.
uncheesypeas@reddit
I'm a Fiestada! Twisted Fiestada!
chrisdecaf@reddit
I'm the pain you tasted, fell intoxicated!
abmoonstar@reddit
๐๐๐
amiableviking@reddit
HOLY SHIT WHERE DO YOU GET THESE NOW
GinchAnon@reddit
There's at least one IGA affiliated store here that has them regularly
EnlightenedDragon@reddit
GFS carries them.
GenX_Eeyore28@reddit
But not every Gordon's has them, apparently. Which is bs, because as a Midwesterner, this was definitely on the menu at least once a month here.
OhioIT@reddit
Yes but I think you have to buy them in quantities 400 or something like that
CriticalTangerine234@reddit
my partner works for GFS and he has never seen them at their store

OMG!
NakedSnakeEyes@reddit
She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts, kid.
80s_angel@reddit
This is one of the first times I feel like I donโt belong in this sub because what is this?! Iโve never seen or heard of this before. ๐ฉ
SeaSkimmer2@reddit
Private school?
80s_angel@reddit
Nope. I went to public school in the Northeast.
Enough-Skin2442@reddit (OP)
Iโm sure it was probably a regional thing

Millennium Fiestada
kmdomega1995@reddit
A few years ago, we discovered that we could get these through GFS. Feeling nostalgic, we ordered a case of them. My kids never got these at their fancy school and tried and hated them so it was just my husband and I. We ate fiestadas for weeks. We gave fiestadas away. We sold half the case to the neighbor. I swear to god, for every two we ate, three more appeared in the freezer. We ended up throwing the last few away. This picture alone makes me a tad nauseous.
SeaSkimmer2@reddit
Probably not a good idea to try the gallon-milk challenge with them.
GarblingCumfarts@reddit
Does the milk thing only affect certain people? I never puked from drinking milk and I've definitely drank a gallon of it a few times.
Kayllis@reddit
Is this a Midwest thing? My California raised ass has never heard of this thing.
she-dont-use-jellyyy@reddit
I'm definitely not from the Midwest (upstate NY) and we had these.
BrieBelle00@reddit
Rivaled only by Crispitos with nacho cheese
La_Croix_Life@reddit
The way I looked at this and the memory was unlocked. ๐ง I have no idea what the fuck it was but I can taste it.
Moxie_Stardust@reddit
Is this like a taco on pizza bread?
Peanut083@reddit
I think so? My Australian self is confused.๐
CherryCherry5@reddit
This Canadian is confused too. We always brought our lunch from home. There was no cafeteria food.
Peanut083@reddit
Same. There was a school canteen, but my parents would only let me get a lunch order maybe once a week if I was lucky. Once I got an after school/weekend job, I used to get lunch orders more regularly, but I was only ever ordering a chicken salad roll.
walkinghrviolation86@reddit
Seeing that pizza in the school cafeteria brightened my day.
MissMushroomBerry@reddit
Ok so Iโm Mexican born and raised so Iโm out of the loop. What exactly is this?
Plane_Chance863@reddit
As a Canadian, all I can say is "something American."
khumprp@reddit
Last I check Gordon Food Supply sold these, but by the case.
Dramatic-Vegetable13@reddit
I run a school cafeteria and I put these on the menu once a month
ll-phuture-ll@reddit
Holy shit. Memory unlocked!
rosewalker42@reddit
I loved these so much. My school called it taco pizza.
Negative-Wrap95@reddit
aka "Mexican Pizza"
I'm not saying it's "right", it's just what it was called on our menus.
Fixyblue@reddit
So. Good.
0zzm0s1s@reddit
We used to have chalupas in the school caf lunch, they were little tortilla boats filled with meat and cheese, and they were very tasty.
Adrasteia-One@reddit
I was deprived. We never had anything like this in school.
Funkopedia@reddit
Where can one acquire this
ShakespearianShadows@reddit
Happy shopping
ThumperAC@reddit

ShakespearianShadows@reddit
You can order them
Didujustcallmejobin@reddit
Dont dip it in Ranch. Youll gain 137lbs in a month.
abmoonstar@reddit
My kids school district still serves these, they call it " fiesta pizza" and both my kids hate it ๐
nobearable@reddit
All our lunches were "designed" by depression era kids turned adult stoners, I swear.
SquirrelCone83@reddit
A regional grocery store in Nebraska called Russ's Market sells these in 4-packs. I get them pretty regularly.
eternallysantanasass@reddit
I loved when this was on the menu for lunch
BugEquivalents@reddit
My schools taco pizza looked like it had fake rubber vomit on top instead of cheese
SeaSkimmer2@reddit
That sounds like something someone would say who always brought lunch from home. ๐
balsaaaq@reddit
But tasty fake vomit
bronzemat@reddit
I loved school taco boats.
Stratocaster213@reddit
Yes sir.
AntiqueCandidate7995@reddit
People over the years treated me like I hallucinated the fiestada. Thank you for this post.
