What is the most vulnerable region in your country to invasion?

In Romania, it’s at the border where Romania, Moldova, and Ukraine meet. The terrain is flat and it’s easy to get to the capital. It’s called the Focșani Gates
SOHONEYSAME@reddit
well,
u can see the Asian coast.
meanwhile, the Greek mainland is basically a 20+ hour journey.
Ok-Skill-265@reddit
Its against london treaty to arm those islands. Greece doing it illegally, trusting israel
Archaeopteryx111@reddit (OP)
Which island?
SOHONEYSAME@reddit
part of "Dodecanese"
ronweasly9@reddit
Wow I hear some of those islands have small populations and thus only a few kids in school. Was it the case for you too ?
XplosivDiarheaEnjoer@reddit
A neighboring island has a single student.
ronweasly9@reddit
Dang that's crazy school must be so weird for such students
Proof-Ad62@reddit
There is bunch of documentaries on this issue. People on the islands are isolated and have little access to Healthcare, so they either move away or don't have kids. It's a real problem.
SOHONEYSAME@reddit
infrastructure (in general) is shit.
however,
not ALL move away.
& a lot of those who do move, return after years/decades away.
in fact, south Aegean is the only Greek region that saw a population increase in the recent census.
SOHONEYSAME@reddit
yes, (on both counts).
ronweasly9@reddit
Oooh it must be so intense in some ways lol . One fight with a classmate and now you still gotta see them everyday..
Anna_akademika@reddit
Preševo, idk, that or Vojvodina
Ujemegaz@reddit
Kosovo.
Unable-Stay-6478@reddit
Kosovo isn't located in Albania.
EbbPlane1749@reddit
yes it is
Unable-Stay-6478@reddit
No it's not, but we can test how vulnerable that region is to Albania. 🤷♂️
Ujemegaz@reddit
There was already a test in Banska.

Archaeopteryx111@reddit (OP)
French?
AnarchistRain@reddit
Northern Bulgaria probably. Its relatively flat and its only defence is the Danube. Bulgaria's geography generally means that if the invasion is coming from the south, the north is save and if its coming from the north the south it safe.
CasperGwamm@reddit
Take your pick. 😂
Far-Active-649@reddit
Sarajevo definitely, if you control the mountains around you control the city itself. Posavina and Semberija also, completely flat regions.
Archaeopteryx111@reddit (OP)
Interesting. I thought Bosnia was all mountains.
Far-Active-649@reddit
Most of the country is mountainous though, yes.
nomebi@reddit
We have natural mountain defenses on pretty much every side of our borders, making us very easy to defend against attack from any side. Hopefully no one decides to just give up the borderlands for no reason
Timauris@reddit
We're so small, and all our neighbors so large, that we would be run over in one week probably. The only hope is that they would get clogged on the motorway as we do everyday.
Titanium_Eye@reddit
The interior is a perfect place for asymmetric warfare, though. And what you said is really valid, there are loads of choke points in every which way.
Archaeopteryx111@reddit (OP)
Slovenia is smol and sweet. No one is allowed to invade you.
Drama-Gloomy@reddit
You survived Yugoslavia though
Far-Active-649@reddit
Was about to say the same, they survived JNA. But tbf JNA also wasn't really into large scale war in Slovenia like they were in Croatia or BiH.
Drama-Gloomy@reddit
JNA got rid of its multi ethnic structures and lost its will to live lol
Far-Active-649@reddit
If i remember correctly most of the JNA Soldiers fighting in Slovenia were conscripts who didn't give a fuck 😂
Drama-Gloomy@reddit
also true
kikiriki_miki@reddit
Few days most probably...
Dull_Cucumber_3908@reddit
The Ionian sea I guess because no one is expecting an invasion from the West /s
Ujemegaz@reddit
Frattelli d'Italia won elections again.
Fun-Incident-9216@reddit
This is stupid. And it's prove wrong in bouth World War. In the first World War actually that was the areea where they successfully block the austriac offensive. And in second World War... the Soviets didn't even try, they go trough Iasi-Chisinau.
Archaeopteryx111@reddit (OP)
Well, the Austrians couldn’t invade from the east in WW I, could they? At that time, Transylvania was theirs, so their best and easiest logistical bet was to invade through Carpathian mountain passes, of which there are only a few. Also, Russia was our ally in that war, so there was no need to fear invasion from the east.
Now, given that Transylvania is Romanian territory, it would be more difficult to invade from the west.
Also, as you can see, the Soviets also invaded from the Focșani gates.
Trody34@reddit
Nice map. Where can I see more like this? Mersi
Fun-Incident-9216@reddit
This map is stupid because is also with the military movement after Romania switch sides. And you are lacking history. Check Iasi-Chisinau battles. And in 1789 you are stupid as a rock...
Intelligent_Let7703@reddit
Bro i live there
int23_t@reddit
Black sea side of Bulgarian border.
Archaeopteryx111@reddit (OP)
Makes sense. Thrace is pretty flat by comparison to eastern Anatolia.
Agron7000@reddit
That's a secret. I am not telling you that.
Archaeopteryx111@reddit (OP)
From the sea presumably.
Agron7000@reddit
Haha what's the name of that little Bosnian, Muso something 🤔.
He attacked Albania from the sea. It was a good strategy.
Uh, I remember. Muso-lini.
Archaeopteryx111@reddit (OP)
Ottomans came from the east tho 🫠.
int23_t@reddit
That's why it took a very long time. Muso-lini guy did it really quickly.

Zagorje is not that vulnerable I guess? It's up in the Mountains
CTPABA_KPABA@reddit
bcs nobody wants to go there... they speak weirdly
Archaeopteryx111@reddit (OP)
Hmm yes. The perimeter to area ratio of Croatia is not favorable…
RhodesianAlpaca@reddit
I think Galați is the absolute worst place to be in Romania in case of war. In case of an invasion from the East, it's right next to the border, it's a major industrial centre, hosts important military facilities, and will likely be the first town to fall to an invading army.
I just happen to be a Galați-native.
Archaeopteryx111@reddit (OP)
Aren’t they trying to beef up military capabilities in the area?
PaymentAutomatic4831@reddit
Very true, but I would nuke Braila first, anyway.
Sneaky-Pur@reddit
In case of invasion from east the worst place you can be is Bucharest, anywhere close to AUR or PSD and its satellites.
BogdanD@reddit
😐 literally the entirety of my bloodline is from Galați and the farmland nearby
CmdrJemison@reddit
Don't tell em. Russian orcs might be reading this too.
my-opinion-about@reddit
That's the idea, they will think that they will have a perfect ground to invade, but they won't be aware of Braila, the capital of stabber masters. The entire army of orcs will be stabbed to death.
Archaeopteryx111@reddit (OP)
Oh, believe me. They already know and they’ve already done it.
