Mystery Mounting Points

Looking to see if anyone can name the brackets needed for this cap. I tried L-brackets but they were too large diameter for the holes.
The holes measure 18mm and the channel is 11mm. If you know the name of the brackets that would work please add a comment.

Yes it is, purchased off Alibaba for $1500 and shipped to the house.
joey12342323@reddit
Is it only 1500 US dollars delivered to the house?
Scout19d19d@reddit (OP)
Better look from the interior.
joey12342323@reddit
The space looks really spacious and amazing. Did you install it all by yourself?
Empyrealist@reddit
If your space is spacious, you aren't getting enough space

Came in two crates with 5 separate panels along with the hardware. Took about two hours to assemble and 4 people to lift and place it on the bed. The aluminum unit weighs 300# and has a roof top limit of 650#.

Thank you so much for posting! I just ordered one two days ago for a 2019 tundra, they're saying it should be at my door in 70 days from time of order. I'm nervous about that because I have to have it by mid August, but we'll see! I either just saved $3500 by skipping leer, or lost $1500 if it's not right or doesn't come in time.

Once you pay them the communication stalls. You have to be on them weekly for updates. Once it’s on the ship, it will hit the west coast in 2 weeks or the gulf in 3 weeks. Then wait another two weeks for it to be released by customs and domestic shipping. I’m very satisfied with mine and it’s up with snap cap toppers.

I bought the aluminum version for $850 (steel was $650) and shipping from China to my house in Texas was $650. Shipping is real, purchased in September 2025 and it arrived February 2026.

Awesome

Aaaaaabsolutely love it.
I wish they had made the 6.4 bed on the 1500 with the boxes as well.
Scout19d19d@reddit (OP)
They do, go to the Rambox Facebook page and you will see multiple posts from those us who bought one. You will find the sellers and photos of completed units. If you order one from Aliexpress or Alibaba expect to pay $650 - $850 for the steel or aluminum versions. Shipping to your door cost about the same. Locally sold units in the USA cost about $4000 so you will save a lot.
Gnoobl@reddit
Sorry.
I meant I wish Ram had sold the 6.4 Ram Box bed on the 1500 size truck. Unfortunately it was only available on the the 2500 with the 6.4 bed

Does that thing not just fill up with dirt / water?
Scout19d19d@reddit (OP)
It’s riveted to the side so water drains, but good point on mud and dirt.

I keep seeing ads for this style camper and it almost seems too good to be true with so many obviously Chinese companies selling them. Post an update in like 3 months in how it's holding up.

I’ve seen similar slots on equipment before that called for a carriage bolt head to be inserted.
See if that would fit.
Scout19d19d@reddit (OP)
Never thought about that, I’ll have to check Home Depot for compatibility.
geodude1921@reddit
Can confirm, have mounted traction boards and a diesel can to the side of my canopy that has a similar mounting system. Slide bolt through key hole, use a nut to secure it to in place with a washer in between. Then I used a wing nut and some spacers to secure the traction boards on. Used some metal bracket I found at home depo to go between the Jerry can and the wing nut. Tested it off-road and it didn’t move an inch. Stupid cheap solution and you don’t have to buy specialized mounts.
Gnoobl@reddit
Let me know if that works for the slots.
SonOfLaGun@reddit
You can probably use any sort of “track mount” options, like others have said the carriage bolt works. They’re called different things in different industries, mostly t-nuts/track/slots or some variation than that. Unfortunately there’s different sizes and depths, so finding one that fits can be trial and error.
Scout19d19d@reddit (OP)
I’ll check to see if Home Depot has any. I can’t access the track from the back side to lock any bolts which makes it a puzzle piece. I’m thinking the manufacturer did for ascetics and not for function.
My back up plan is to mount some molle panels over it.
IT_vet@reddit
Looks like carriage bolt to me
Scout19d19d@reddit (OP)
You might be correct.

I swiped. GL with the truck. That's crazy looking
