Best ebike for 5k for trail riding?

I'm looking to finally make the jump to an e bike and curious what you guys would recommend. I live near guisborough woods so mainly ride there, occasionally Dalby forest and the odd trip to glentress, inners etc. I just want a good all rounder for trails really.
Guisborough is mainly quite short, steep and technical trails and often very sloppy. The trails are very short hence wanting an ebike so I can get lots more trails in as I usually only get out for a couple of hours, and I'm not getting any younger or fitter!
Options I've been considering are a heckler (but I've heard a lot of bad stuff about the battery), or perhaps an older specialised turbo levo. I also am I terested in the new kado rs, which looks to have the most power but a bit on the heavy side...I am not sure if that will be a help or hindrance on steep technical trails.
I am not against buying a well cared for second hand version, but could go to 5k if needed for a new one. I just can't justify spending more than that for the amount I ride. Any help is most welcome š

i decided to go with the e-bike trike from bmg e-cycle simple because of the on site service and that it is located in halifax

question 1: dependong on your terrain, have you considered a longer travel hardtail?
question 2: how much elevation are you typically doing and what kind of pedaling power do you produce yourself?
if you don't need a ton of elevation or want to keep it sporty by pedaling a lot, you could look at light assists with smaller batteries and motors. Not as much power and watthours, but lighter in technical terrain.
Mondraker Dune or Canynon spectral onfly for example

I'm not interested in a hardtail, elevation is only usually around 1800ft but it's more about having to go back and forwards constantly as the trails are very short where I ride

I rode a 2020 specialized turbo levo alloy this weekend and ended up purchasing it. It handles the trails really well and feels really nimble. Very nice bike

Thanks, I tried one also in finale last year and even though it was old and well used it was very nice to ride. Specialised just seems to be the gold standard, maybe I should just get a used one in good condition rather than a brand new kado or trek

Are you wanting a light bike, or a full power one? Your post suggests that you kind of want both, which I don't think you can expect at the budget. But I think you can definitely get a solid full-power OR lightweight ebike for that money.

I am leaning towards a lighter bike, for example the kado appeals as its in budget and has a very good battery, but the weight is putting me off. Just more hassle. To transport, lift over fences etc

Honestly for what you described (short, steep, techy, muddy), Iād lean full-power over lightweight. Something like the Specialized Turbo Levo is kind of the safe bet; it handles well, has plenty of power, and is easy to live with. Used ones around your budget are a really solid deal.
