This is not vandalism, this looks like you took a tight jackknife turn.

Could be one of two problems:

1 Your lines are too short try letting some more slack out on the hangers

2 Your lines drag on the deck and got caught on a mud flap or something on the frame. Use a 2-3’ long bungee cord and hang it from the keeper the holds your lines attached to the spring hanger, and then wrap the bungee cord mid way down your lines between the truck and trailer. This will pick the lines up off the deck but still allow you to fully stretch the lines if you jackknife the trailer.

The company I work for uses many different trailers (some rentals, some company owned) that all have their electrical and air connections in different spots. Centered and up high, centered and down low, driver side down low, driver side up high, and my favorite (sarcasm) chassis centered, or chassis driver side. If you’re a driver whose company uses multiple trailer styles I highly recommend using the bungee technique. Once you figure out the mounting it’s really easy to slide the bungee up and down on the lines to get that perfect hang. Center chassis plug/airline trailers are notorious at my job for ripping out the lines because the lines sit so low. I wish we could add pictures in the comments section I would share a picture of what I’m talking about. Hopefully I explained it well enough.

Currently I shift trailers in the yard for a major trucking company, I use a regular tractor though not a shifter. I deal with a lot of different hookup styles on a daily basis, and have to do a lot of jackknifing. This is by far the best and easiest solution I’ve come up with for dealing with multiple location styles of hookups. If you have a dedicated trailer, back under it in the jackknife position and adjust your lines enough so that they don’t rip out, then straighten it out. If they drag once you’re straight get a bungee to lift them off the deck if not you’re good to go.
